Understanding

Amelia kept on apologizing to her mother with her now tear drained voice.

"He rejected me" She said,hiccup ing.

Victoria who was deep in thought before sat up, shocked by the revealation, she paid attention and held her daughter's hand.

"Amelia, tell me how it happened andthe person responsible?

Amelia looked at her mother and loomed down again.

" I was dating Kelvin, you know him right, he was the guy you saw with me in my school the other day".Amelia spoke up.

Victoria touched her head with all seriousness to recall the face of the guy.

"Oh, the one with the curly hair?" She asked.

"Yes mom". Her daughter replied.

" Why didn't you tell me you were going out with him, Amelia?"She inquired with a frank tone.

"You are going through a lot for me , mom,I don't want to tell you that".Amelia said with a soft and remorseful tone.

Victoria sighed softly and signalled to her daughter to continue.

" I planned to do my internship in the company he works and we already built our life around each other".Amelia softly continued.

"When I told him earlier today that I was pregnant" She choked out,tears threatening to fall out once again.

"I wasn't expecting his rejection".She has started sobbing now.

Victoria who was listening attentively pulled her daughter in for a hug and rubbed her back.

" You are committing yourself tona guy behind my back, that was wrong of you"Her mother cautioned.

"No matter how hard you think it will be for me, you don't hide such things from me, baby" Her mother continued.

"You are my priority, you should know that,I love you Amelia and everything I'm doing is for you".

Amelia tightened her hand around her mom's body and nodded in understanding, sobbing quietly.

" You gave him the chance to use you, baby but you are strong, okay?Victoria said.

"You will give birth to your baby and you will take care of the baby with me bu uour side" Victoria told her daughter, wiping her tears.
