03 | Mind Scape Development

After 2.5 years,

[March 3rd, Kohona 28th Year]

It's been nearly 3 years since I was born in Hyuga Branch, and I currently live alone.

Haruto has joined the Patriarch on a Joint A-rank mission, and Mom has gone to Kohona hospital.

Lately there has been an increase in patients. I guess skirmishes have already started near borders, and death rates of ninjas on missions have gone up exponentially.

Hmm, good thing for me, I won't be taking part in this ninja war, and even if I do, it will be nearly 6 years from now, near the end of the 2nd Ninja War, so I'll have plenty of time to reap rewards and increase my strength. hmm, "cough," sigh, my messy thoughts are always thinking of profits.

Ren was thinking of all these weird things, while manipulating a cluster of tiny sand balls which were hovering by something that looked like a chakra line and moving at high speed in his hand, finally arranging them in different shapes, from chair to door to tree, then house to apartment, and finally more complex constructs like the Eiffel Tower, where he lost control of the sand ball.

"I guess I won't be able to form complex constructs anytime soon, let alone pure energy constructs," Ren said slowly as he looked down at the tiny sand pyramids scattered on the ground, wiping sweat from his slightly hot head that was literally smoking from his workout exercise.

"I should better start cleaning home before mom comes back from the hospital and go to bed and start polishing my nen."

"THis NEN energy is really wonderful, it can literally do anything, the only things limiting nen are just Willpower, determination, Talent and Imagination hmm Gene limitations too." Ren exhaled after taking a cold shower and he slowly started thinking about what he did till now.

Yeah, so I found some weird aura surrounding me around my first birthday. I pretty much knew what it was, but one thing was sure that it wasn't chakra as my chakra coils didn't even start forming shape, much less be able to hold chakra energy..

So I began experimenting with this energy and after a month discovered that it was NeN or behaved exactly like a nen, so I devised my very own baby training plan, which includes polishing nen, multitasking, building mindscape defense, snooping around with vision ability here and there to get as many technique scrolls as I can, compiling information from villagers to roughly estimate when the 2nd Ninja War will begin, cause, I don't remember exact year, and lastly going through my old, i mean earth memories and reeducating myself to develop my baby brain because IT has LOT LOT LOT of potential to develop,

(A/N : What you except some Saitama training part?, Oh come on I won't start physical training till 5 yrs till then natural development.)

And Oh I also thought about my first nen ability and already started working on It, so these are some limitations to my ability

--> This ability will exactly take shape after 10 yrs after my Nen awakening. (when Ren is 11).

--> To be able to reach 100% potential, the same potential imagined user need should fulfil the requirement of 100 complex nen shapes per minute (like Eiffel Tower, statue Of liberty, etc,), Any less will have the opposite effects on user ability.

Eg. : 92 shapes → 84% Max Potential of ability

60 shapes → 20% Max Potential of ability

40 shapes → 20% Negative effect on user of Maximum Potential User Imagined

50 shapes → No effect of ability on User.

--> Since I want the ability to affect very being of myself and No additional Limitations, In case ability development is insufficient, Ability development will take my lifespan as compensation maximum upto 25 Yrs after that ability will take shape and subsequently affect max potential of ability if lifespan required exceed 25 Yrs.

(A/N : 3rd point i mean if Ren changes his body like Orochimaru or just divides his soul even in that case Ren will have this ability, Like Innate talent or inborn talent hmm something like that)

And Developing MindScape is very difficult not like Naruto anime at all and it also causes lot of headache during development, I fainted 12 - 15 times initially from pain until i got hang of it, but this has very huge advantage, completely able to isolate wanted information, make some mind defence mechanism, resistance to most of direct illusions or spirit/mind attacks, better thinking process, edict memory, fast memory access when recalling things,and many more this technique is just like a gene lock of brain.

"HAHA in anime this Mindscape technique is just shown like some chinese Cabbage where every main character you see have access to mindscape this devalues mindscape technique, BULLSHIT if you take whole Hokage world, ninja population as 100,000 as in 4th Ninja War then only 3000 of them knows about mindscape technique and no more that 500 have access to mindscape and less than 120 ninja excel in this art." Ren thought heartily because he also had access to mindscape at very early stage due to torture memories, pain and trauma from his vision ability which in return allowed him to access mindscape.

Ren was thrilled because this technique solved one of major sideeffect of vision ability, now he just read vision memories like watching movie or reading novels not need to experience same Torture, this surely helped him in keeping himself sane.

HAHA I remembered freaking out my parents when i all of sudden cried, Laughed or smiled creepily they just dismissed his behaviour thinking that Ren had some brain problems after all ren received beating from Haruko regularly, so that Ren can develop his submissive attitude, Haruto too received the same training from his father.

Ren has now developed prototype of his mindscape which is divided into 6 Layers where each layer has its own functions and he can further divide each layer into sublayers if necessary :

1st Layer → It will have memories similar to what all above mediocre but below genius Hyuga branch member should have like, mentality that Hyuga is Top clan, Uchiha are the only rivals, Not losing to fight to not dishonour Hyuga Pride, Normal Ninja Missions, Blackmoney or some leasable dark secrets of no value to me. Oh and there won't be any defence on this layer. Anyone with capable abilities can spy on this layer.

2nd Layer → It is just a copy of 1st layer but with additional info about my daily life and all memories and opinions about a person i know and some confidential mission details, my techniques experimental data which has no value to me or easily available or someone else and some intermediate reinforcement on 2nd layer and self-destruction mechanism on some memory past when touched so it seem that there is no 3rd layer to intrude, oh and this layer will also be a home for any tail beast i decide to capture in future hmm i will just add a sub-layer for them if necessary.

3rd layer → It will have some serious defence and as soon as intruder breaks in what greets him is nothing but hellish pain torture and soul or mind attacks if I find any technique related to this, also this will be my attack mindscape when i decide to enemy spirit in this layer, minimum potential development is kill the enemy with low or moderate willpower or enemy should be in coma for at least 10 days, just like Itachi Mangekyo Sharingan ability Tsukuyomi, best potential development is to be an auxiliary mindscape like six immortals.

4th Layer → This layer will be reinforced with all my sealing abilities and will have self destruct mechanism so that intruder gets nothing just like a burned village so that intruder loses his desire to explore further and go back after all reaching this far means intruder has very high mastery in mind arts and sealing than me so any attack would be useless, and this layer will have all my life experience, true experiment data, and little about me being a old soul with me being brought to Naruto world by some ROB to bring chaos and some amusement and somehow having memories of this Naruto world, except for any information about my previous life and its details.

5th layer → This layer will be the largest mindscape layer compared to other layers and what it has is just empty space, so if by any chance intruder goes further he will eventually give up by not seeing anything for hours.

6th Layer → just a circular orb like mindscape floating somewhere in 5th layer with similar reinforced seals like 4th layer but with extra seals that completely bend it in its surrounding layers so it is pretty hard to see layer wall, and this layer stores my genuine memories.

The connection between layers is like the Pyramid Hierarchy Structure. Lower levels are not allowed to access higher levels, while higher levels can access lower ones.

1st, 2nd and 3rd layer forms a closed loop structure and these layers are accessible from 4th layer and 6th layer while 4th layer is only accessible from 6th layer.

"Just remembering the time, effort and brain cells spent to form this prototype makes me pity myself after nearly spending 16 months. I have only made the 1st layer and 3% of my imagined 2nd Layers," Ren said to himself in self pity while remembering his life experience.

Also, I collect some Ninjutsu scrolls and there developments record from many ninjas who frequently use them, getting these Ninjutsu was an easy task with my vision ability but getting ninjutsu development record was like finding a needle in a haystack, after all who in the right mind would tell you how they practised or what difficulties they faced or what new jutsu they imagined from this or that technique, why they selected technique when then had a choice to select different or better technique scroll, etc,. And many of them just didn't bother to make a scroll of their frequently used Jutsu, fearing losing them or having their intelligence leaked.

After all being a ninja means completing a task while keeping a sense of mystery‌ and when mission have to do something with killing enemy, then most of Ninjas below elite jounin act like real life sniper agents, where they have to take enemies head by surprise attack and missing a single chance means guaranteed failure of mission and which employer would like to hire a ninja with bad resume while they have a choice to hire a good one with same pay and ohh and this situation only for ninjas below elite jounin cause elite jounins are important asset for any ninja village and below them you can find many jounins, special jounins, chunins, genins so life for lower level ninjas is pretty hard and also they wont get any profit from sharing their Info.

Nen is one of the defining features of HxH series. It is a technique that allows a living being to use and manipulate their own life energy(known as aura), A person capable of utilising Nen is colloquially referred as "Nen User".

Four Major Principles:

Ten ( Ten; "Envelop"/"Shroud") is the process of keeping the nodes open, but also having aura flow through and around the body rather than away from it. Once maintained, it creates a shroud around the user that feels similar to standing in a lukewarm, viscous fluid.

Zetsu (, Zetsu; "Suppress"/"Null") stops the flow of aura from their body altogether. By closing all of their Aura Nodes, the user is able to halt all outflow of their aura like water from a valve, making their presence much harder or even impossible to sense. Shutting off the nodes in their eyes prevents the user from being able to see aura, but, since they are no longer surrounded by their own aura, they become more sensitive to the aura of others.

Ren (, Ren; "Refine"/"Enhance") focuses on outputting a larger amount of aura than Ten, projecting it outwards explosively. This amplifies the user's physical strength and durability and provides a large pool of aura for any advanced techniques or individual skills they decide to use, albeit at the cost of expanding said aura.

Hatsu (, Hatsu; "Release"/"Act") is one's personal expression of Nen. Its qualities are influenced by but not restricted to the Nen user's natural Nen category, one of the six available. Hatsu is used to project one's aura to carry out a certain function, creating a special and unique paranormal ability that is colloquially referred to as a "Nen ability" (, Nen nōryoku), or simply "ability" (, nōryoku).

Seven Advanced Techniques :

Gyo (, Gyō; "Focus") is an advanced application of Ren by which a Nen user concentrates a larger than normal portion of their aura into one specific body part. It increases the strength of that one body part, but leaves the rest of the body more vulnerable. Gyo is most often used in the eyes, allowing a Nen user to see aura and Nen constructs concealed with In as well as traces of aura so faint that they might go unnoticed otherwise.

In (, In; "Conceal") is an advanced form of Zetsu used to render one's aura imperceptible, effectively concealing it. Unlike Zetsu, however, In does not stop the user's aura flow; instead, it hides it, making it impossible to perceive with any of the five senses or extrasensorial perception. Hence, this technique is perfect for launching sneak attacks or laying traps, as it can conceal not only the user's presence, but also Nen constructs generated with Transmutation, or Conjuration.

En (, En; "Circle") is an advanced application of Ten and Ren. In Ren, aura usually envelops only a small amount of space around the user's body. En is when one extends their Ren so that their aura extends further than normal, then uses Ten at the same time to contain and give shape to that aura, normally a sphere.

Shu (, Shū; "Enfold") is an advanced application of Ten. Shu allows a user of Nen to enshroud an object with their aura, allowing them to use that object as an extension of their own body.

Ko (, Kō; "Temper") is a combination of Ten, Zetsu, Hatsu, Ren, and Gyo in which all of the user's aura is concentrated into one particular body part. Gyo is utilized to focus aura on a part of the body, while Ten is used to prevent it from dispersing. Zetsu is used to completely stop the flow of Nen in all other parts of the body, increasing the output in the desired area. With Ren, the amount of aura is increased even further. This makes that one body part extremely powerful, but at the cost of leaving the rest of the user's body completely unprotected.

Ken (, Ken; "Fortify") is the advanced version of the basic Ren and Ten techniques. It is a primarily defensive technique where a Nen user maintains a state of Ren for a prolonged amount of time. The amount of aura surrounding the user's body during Ken is about 10 times higher than during Ten. Ken allows a Nen user to guard against attacks from any direction, but the large amount of aura produced makes it tiring to maintain.

Ryu (, Ryū; "Flow") is the term for use of Gyo from a state of Ken to perform real-time offensive and defensive value adjustments. If Ko devolves 100% of one's aura to offense or, much more rarely, to defense, and Ken splits it evenly between the two, Ryu is redistributing one's aura according to any other percentage).
