Chapter 010 - Leaving the nest

"Goodbye everyone, thank you for taking care of me and treating me as a part of the family," Wynstan said, expressing his sincerity.

"Me too, even though our time is short you treat me like a family too, Rudy don't be lazy on your magic practice," Roxy said with a gentle smile.

Yes, Wynstan decided to explore the world. He wanted to see the beauty of the world with his own eyes, different culture, cuisine, and scenery. Wynstan bet exploring the world will be fun though in his mind the hardest part is already over which is convincing the family to let him go.

Wynstan knew the teleportation incident was about to happen 5 years from now on but he made sure to set up defensive formations around the whole Buena Village, but he will still come back after 4 and 1/2 years to personally defend the household. They are his family in this world afterall.

Anyway, Zenith was bawling her eyes out and kept rubbing her face to Wystan before letting him go. While Lilia gives Wysntan and Roxy a huge basket of food.

Wynstan noticed a small stain in the corner of her eyes inferring that she must have cried a little in the kitchen. Who could blame Lilia, Wynstan is her mentor and rival in cooking.

After a little struggle in leaving, Roxy and Wynstan ride their horses. In the middle of their way, Wynstan saw a group of kids bending their knees as if waiting for his arrival so he approached them, he also saw Sylphitte in the group with bright red eyes.

Wynstan went down on his horse cause he decided that he will give them a little farewell gift

With a snap of finger mana enveloping the entire area, it was very beautiful, blue lights are dancing in the tone of the wind making the kids mesmerized.

But this is more than a light show.

The blue lights approach each kid and dance around them then they glow even brighter as they slowly enter the children's stone sword.

The sword will transform from stone sword into solid wind sword when introduced by the owner's mana. The sword can only be used by those who were deemed as a knight of Wynstan.]

Although the system said that the sword was made by reducing his maximum mana Wystan can't really tell how much it took as he barely felt any difference, Wystan assumed that his mana reach the level where making simple relics such as this is simply a child's play.

"Stand up," Wynstan said as the kids synchronously stood up proudly. Even without explanation the kids knew that Wynstan just gave them a gift that they can't match so inside their minds they vowed to serve Wynstan with all of their hearts.

Wynstan nodded in satisfaction and ordered the kids to go home and help their parents. Now to the harder part.

Sylphiette looks at Wynstan, she is on the verge of crying once again which makes Wynstan sweat drop.

"Look here Sylphy, I am not leaving permanently and will come back again and when I come back I want to see your progress, you're my right hand magician after all right?" Wynstan said as he patted Sylphy.

"No please don't leave," Sylphy said with a pitiful expression while grabbing Wynstan's shirt.

"Don't you want to surprise me how beautiful and strong you became after I came back? If you got strong enough that day you can do adventuring with me," Wynstan said.

"But I want to be strong with you, I want you to see my progress everyday, I want to do the things I love with you," Sylphy's words are very strong and pure, making Wynstan's poor social skills up to the test.

Wynstan then grabs Sylphy's cheeks and turn her face to face him, "Sylphy just as you have things you want to do there are things that I want to experience too,,"

"Then let's make a promise," Sylphy said while still sobbing, she knows in her heart that she can not stop Wynstan from leaving.

"Okay let's make a promise," Wynstan gently smiled, the patting is not stopping, Wynstan felt that if he stopped patting Sylphy's head then this conversation would turn into non-stop wailing.

"You will take me once you come back!" Sylphy shyly shouted.

"I see, I can work with that," Wystan responded,it is weird though, he recalled that he already offered this choice to Sylphy but she made it sound different.

Sylphy blooms a smile as she gives Wynstan a hug and a kiss on the cheek then runs like a child she is.

"That went easier than I thought," Wynstan said but for some reason he felt that he promised something with deeper meaning inside of it..

Wynstan went back to Roxy as they continued their journey.

Roxy can't help but to feel victorious because she won and now monopolizes the little monster named Wynstan.

'Muhehehe point 1 for team Roxy,' Roxy thought while dancing a victory dance inside her head but her expression was unchanging.

While they are traveling the system prompts Wynstan a quest.

[Quest: Sell 10,000 burgers in your next town/city

Reward: Elixir 3x - A cure all medicine.

Failure Condition: Stepping out of the said town/city during the mission.

Failure Penalty: Unstable Mana for a month

Accept? ()yes, ()no]

'So I just have to sell 10,000 burgers and I will receive 3 miracle medicines? Sounds good,' Wynstan thought but he didn't click yes for the moment after all he needed to know the actual condition of the said town before accepting.

"So where do we go now?" Wynstan questioned.

"Citadel of Roa, I received a tutoring job from there," Roxy replied.

"I see," Wynstan said as he couldn't help but to yawn. His body might be strong but he is mentaly tired of all the goodbyes he said today.

And with that the couple venture their way forth to their next destination.
