“Nothing ma, she just got a little drunk so I let her stay here”
“Ok, please when she wakes up tell her to come to my house”

“I hope I will not be in trouble? Fineface was worried, I hope she did not take it the wrong way?”
“Now tell me, what will a married woman doing in another man’s house?” Sharon’s mom question her when she got to her house the next day.
“Married, mom are you for real? Am I married? The last time I checked I am still single, so I can do whatever I want to do, but for the record I didn’t do anything”
“Good, I will not advise you to cheat on your husband because he is behaving like that”
“My I need a divorce, am done with this marriage, am moving forward”
“I understand you and I know how you feel, but please give it time, time will make things right”
“Mom you don’t understand, Paul hates me with everything in him, he has always been in love with that Christy who always pretends to be perfect”
“Is ok, let’s wait and see what his mom will do” she is just worried that maybe Sharon has done something to make Paul behave that way and that no one will want to marry her if she gets a divorce.
She is willing to do everything and anything to make sure that Sharon stays in marriage.
“Paul’s mom has nothing to offer here, she will do whatever her son wants, please mom let me do want I want too”
“You can’t do what ever you want, you are a woman”
“Right, fine, I have to die because am a woman right, be ready to carry my body away from that house because I will do what I will do”
“No Sharon, you just have to wait a little, Paul will come back to his senses”
“The Paul I saw will never come back to his senses, he will rather marry Christy than come back to his senses”
“I need to see that boy and talk sense into him”
“There will be no need mom, just let him be”.
“Sharon why do you make us worry? You should have told us you are staying over at your mom’s place. You make us worry to death” Paul’s mom said when Sharon came back.
“Am so sorry mom, I was so tired and forgot”
“Is ok your mom told us”
“Alright mom, I will be in my room” Sharon walk in and saw Paul.
“You didn’t sleep here last night where did you go?”
“What do you care? Sharon ask Paul.
“Well is none of my business anyways, but am here to tell you that am getting married to Christy”
“And what do I care?”
“I also need a divorce” Paul added. “I was waiting for your lawyer but I didn’t see anyone”
“So are you here with your own lawyer?” Sharon ask.
“But he will come two days from now”
“No problem am waiting” Sharon said and walk out on him.
She went out and told Paul’s mom what Paul said.
Where is that foolish boy, she shouted while walking to Paul’s room but Paul was ready for this.
“What did you tell Sharon? Repeat what you said”
“I want a divorce, because am getting married to the women I love”
“You lie, you lie and that will be over my dead body.”
“Mom why are you making this things so difficult? I don’t love Sharon what is there for you not to understand?”
“Everything, son everything, I don’t understand why you will not love Sharon, but you want to go and bring into this house a gold digger”
“Gold digger? Christy is not a gold digger”
“What does this your Christy have? Poor people are always gold diggers”
“Mom I can’t believe you, who told you that every poor person is a gold digger?”
“I know it when I see one, the last time I want to her house, they have nothing, why won’t they clip on to you for their daily bread?”
“Mom please stop, that’s not who they are”
“How will you know when you are blinded?, Am going to open your eyes son, you will see who they really are”
Paul walked out on his mom for the first time.
“Son, you’re walking out on me? Impossible, this girl has bewitched my only son, am going to deal with her”.
She got to Christy’s house and met her stepmom.
“Welcome to my home” she welcome’s Paul mom and ask her to sit down.
She look round the house like it smells, “No thanks, am here to make you an offer,”
“What offer?”
“Last time I came here, you promise to help me stop that girl you said is your stepdaughter, and I understand that you hate her for what her mother did to you, now am beginning to see that she is just like her mother, so this time, I want you to stop her for real”
“What do you want me to do?”
“I didn’t give you anything last time I came, maybe that was why you didn’t stop her, here is one million, make sure you stop her this time”
She throws the money at the table and make to go.
“Come back here woman,” Christy’s stepmom called her back. I only respect you because of Paul, but if you try this next time, I will not think twice before I knock some sense into you. What do you take me for?”
“Excuse me? Are you talking to me?”
Bridget’s mom look round, “No, am talking to my shadow, will you take this money and get out of my house?, And if anything happens to my daughter, you will know the women in me”
Paul’s mom took her money and went away.
“I will deal with all of you, gold diggers” she yells and walk out.
“You are the gold digger, what will I do with your money? I have my own hands, I can work for my money, if you touch any of my daughters I will kill you” she keeps shouting even when Paul’s mom is gone.
“Mom what is the problem?” Christy and Bridget ask as they are just entering into the house.
“Is Paul’s mom, I am just respecting her because of Paul and her husband, if not I would have beating the hell out of her”
Mom please don’t do it,” Christy and Bridget start begging her.
“You better go and tell her to stay away from my family,”
“But that’s not going to be possible, her son wants to marry Christy, there is no way she can stay away from your family mom” Bridget said.
“You have a point, but I will beat her black and blue, she will know the in-law she is going to have”
Christy and Bridget looked at each other and gave out a big laugh.
“What are you girls laughing about?”
“Nothing mom, is just that Paul’s mom don’t know what she is up against”
“Oh thank God you know, if you girls love her you better tell her, if anything happens to me daughters I will skin her alive”
“Paul.. Paul where are you? If this how you want to disgrace me? Are those the kind of people you want to bring into my house?”
“Mom what are you talking about?”
“Am talking about that woman,”
“Woman! Which woman?”
“The women you want to marry her daughter, she insult me today, threatening to deal with me, is that the kind of family you want me to associate myself with?”
“Did you go to their house?” knowing that Christy's mom can not just start insulting his mom just like that.
“Is that what you are asking me?
“Ok mom, just leave it to me, I will deal with that”
“But why will you go there?” He husband ask just entering the house and over hearing their conversation.
She starts to cry, “what have I done that all of you are taking sides with total strangers?”
“Please stop crying”, her husband hug her, she knew that is her husband’s weak point, he can never stand her crying.
“But why are you talking side with them?”
“Am not taking side with them, am only saying you shouldn’t have gone to their house”
“I don’t want Paul getting married to that girl” she looks up to her husband pretending to cry.
“There is nothing we can do at this point, you know I have always supportive of you, I even help you make Paul marry Sharon, but can’t you see is not working?”
“It will work if Christy is out of the way”
“And what do you mean by that?” Mr. Brown ask concerned.
“Don’t worry, just leave it to me”
“Look, I don’t want you doing anything stupid ok”
“Don’t worry, I know what to do”
“For goodness sake when will you stop? Is not working, your son is in love, just accept it and move on”
“I work so hard for all of this, no gold digger will lay a hand on it”
“I’ve heard enough woman, are you telling me you are the only one who has been working?” Mr. Brown shouted at his wife.
