Chapter 69 Look for her

Getting home, Mr. Brown scan the house to see if he will see anything unusual but nothing, everywhere was the same. But walking to one of the rooms he finds out that the room was decorated with pink color and baby things scattered all over the place.

“What’s this?, Is Paul living with a baby here?”

He want to the sitting room to wait for Paul’s return.

Paul came back with a little girl who was looking like him.

Mr. Brown was so surprised that he didn’t ask him who she is.

“Go greet your granddaddy” Paul said and Mr. Brown was shocked to is borne.

“Good evening granddad”

“Good evening my daughter, come to me”

She walked to him and he carried her looking at Paul with surprised.

“How? Because Sharon didn’t say anything  like seeing a baby with you”

“Is Christy dad, she was really carrying my baby and this is Peace, her name is Peace” Paul said smiling at his father”

“Wow… this is the best thing I have seen son, we need to do something about it”

“Something like what dad?”

“We need to pay her bride price as soon as possible, she has done well”

“You think so dad?”

“Yes why?”

“I don’t think she is willing to marry me”

“Why did you say so”

“Am the only one fighting for us, all she ever do was run away, like now did you see her here, she has parked and left”

“Left to where?”

“I don’t know, she wanted to go with the baby but I refuse”

“You’ve done well my son, but your mother wouldn’t be happy with this”

“I know, so what will I do?, Dad please I need your help”

“We are going to pay for her bride price”

“And marry her as second wife?” Paul ask.

“Yes”

“No dad, she can’t be my second wife, she is my first wife and not second”

“I know how you feel, but that is the only way now, there are things you can not change my dear, you just have to accept it”

Paul is finding it hard to accept Sharon as his wife not to talk of been his first.

“All we need to do is find Christy and make this right” Mr. Brown told Paul.

“Ok dad”

Paul waited for Bridget to come back so they can go and look for Christy but she didn’t return home that night.

“Where could she be?,” he took out his phone and called Bridget.

“Where are you, and where did you sleep last night?”

“I saw your dad yesterday so I slept in the hotel”

“Hmmm that’s a good one, thanks for been smart” Paul compliment Bridget.

“Thank you sir for the compliment, what can I do for you?”

“We need to look for Christy”

“Look for Christy?, Why will I look for Christy, she left on her own”

“Yes, but we still need to look for her because I want to make things right”

“What about your dad, is he gone”

“No, he is with the baby, just come out from wherever you’re hiding, is time to start work.”

“Yes sir”

“And will you stop with the sir thing? What happened to you calling me by my name?”

“Forget it Paul”  Bridget said over the phone and Paul smile. “That is more like the  Bridget I know”

They went in search of Christy but she was no where to be found.

Let’s go back to that house where we find her, they went there but she was no where to be seen.

“What is wrong with Christy, why do I love her so much? Heaven knows I love her so much” Paul keeps wondering why he can’t seem to stay without her, maybe it was because she was not like other girls who talk back at him or maybe raise their hands to slap him with any little provocation.

Bridget walked in front of Paul while they are looking for Christy.

Paul looked at her, why is Christy so different from her? She should have gotten a little bit of her character.

But would I have loved her if she has gotten some of Bridget character?  I don’t think so, Bridget is too full of action, she doesn’t know when to slow down.”

“Let’s go to my mother’s place, yes she might have gone back home” Bridget suddenly turn to Paul.

“What? No.. I don’t think so”

“My mom don’t have phone, I would have called her” Bridget said.

“Ok, let’s do that tomorrow, am so tired let’s go home”

“Ok,”

They both went home to met Paul’s father playing with peace and laughing like never before.

Paul thought he has never seen his father this happy, how he wish his mom will be like this too, life would have be better.

“Your back”

“Yes dad”

“Welcome dad, peace ran to hug her dad, “what did you get for me?”

“Oh. Nothing, I didn’t remember buying anything but don’t worry we will go shopping tomorrow ok”

“Yeaaaa… she shouted and running round making Mr. Brown smiling like never before, he so love the sight of the little girl running around the house, is just like when Paul was little.

“Is my mom coming with us?” Peace suddenly stop running and ask.

Paul looked at his dad before answering.

“No dear, your mom will join us next time”

“No dad, I need my mom, I’ve not seen her since I came back from school yesterday”

“Ok, I will go and get your mom ok, so smile for me” he carried her up and she starts laughing.

Christy was back home and her stepmom welcomed her and apologize to her for all the bad things she has done against her.

“Is fine mom, how are you?”

“Am not fine, only me in this house, and no one to talk to”.

“Don’t worry am home now, I will take care of you”

“What about the baby? And why are you the only one here”

“She is with her father”

“And who is her father?”

“Is Paul”

“The same Paul?”

“Yes mom”

“Oh my daughter am so sorry, forgive me” she hugged Christy and almost cry.

“Is ok mom”

“Did you see Bridget in that big city? She promised to look for you”

“Yes, I saw her, she is even staying with Paul when I saw them.”

“Really, so where is she now”

“She is still with Paul when I left”

“Now tell me, why did you leave your child with Paul? I hope Bridget did not cause you trouble?”

“No mom, she didn’t cause any trouble”

She told her Stepmom everything that happened.

“Hmmm, my daughter God will make things right ok, just trust him to do that”

“Do you think Paul will come looking for me?” Christy ask her mom.

“Yes, he will, and if he does then I will know that he really loves you, and as for that woman who came her the other time, is like she is too full of herself.

Am going to face her, she can’t come here and insult my daughters not when am still alive.”

Christy wanted to laugh but held her peace.

Sharon when back to office and decided to go out with fineface never minding the fact that she is married, she is so fed up with Paul’s rejection of her.

She is going to make herself happy with or without Paul.

“ Sharon we don’t need to do this, your married what will people say?”

“People can say what ever they want to say, for goodness sake my life was better when I didn’t care about what  people say, now am a mess because of what people will say, so I don’t give a fu..k” she yells at fineface.

“You need to calm down Sharon”

“No, you need to come to me because I need you right now, Sharon walks towards fineface, but he keeps withdrawing from her, not because he is afraid of her but because she is someone else’s wife.

“You don’t want me?”

“No, I want you, but this is not right”

“Who cares? I don’t care anymore, Paul can do whatever he likes, and I can do whatever I damn like, we are getting a divorce anyways”.

“Then let’s wait till then, you are still legally married to him”

“Oh, for goodness sake, he is legally married to me but still sleeping with Christy, what is the difference?”

“I know, you can’t do what he is doing, you need to wait a little ok,”

Sharon felt like dying, why is everyone favoring Paul over her? She fell back and start to cry.

Fineface hugged and console her.

“Am sorry ok, let’s just hold on a little more, everything will be fine”

“When?”

“Soon, very soon” fineface said.

Bridget and Paul set out the next day to go back home looking for Christy.

“She better be there” Paul said

“If she’s not there then there is nothing we can do I guess”

“She has to be there” Paul keeps saying
