“No don’t worry about that, is nothing really, is just a little bit stress I will be fine”

“You sure? You know you can tell me anything”

“I know but am fine, is just that am missing you and it makes my heart beat,” Christy said facing down, she is not quiet sure what she is afraid of.

“Look at me? Paul raise her face with both hands, I will always be here for you, is just that I need to go back to school and finish my studies and then I will come back to you.”

“How long will you be gone?” Christy ask with here voice breaking.

“Four to five months I guess”

It sounds like eternity to her, can she cope without him nor Bridget? What will life be like? She has never gone to school after her secondary school, she don’t have any where to go except cleaning the house and throwing trash away, that has been her daily routine since her mom and dad pass away.

She was hoping that one day things will change, but it seems that day will never come.

“Christy are you ok?, You are so quiet”

“What do you want me to say? You are leaving and I will be here all by myself doing nothing interesting only cleaning house and throwing out trash”

“Did you finish your secondary school”? Paul suddenly ask.

“Yes, why did you ask? Christy was surprised.

“I want to know if you will like to further your education I can be of help you know” Paul said looking to get her reaction because he thought maybe she didn’t want to go to the university.

“Really?” Christy jump to hug Paul, “I will love to, will you do that for me? But on a second thought, how are you going to do that since you are going back to school.”

“Is not a big deal for me, you just get ready to write your direct entrance exam when I come back.”

“ I will be graduating this year, and when I come back am taking over the running of my parents company, so taking care of you and your schooling won’t be a problem for me ok”

Christy nods and smiles thanking God for the day she met Paul, she can go to school and be a graduate too, she will work at one of those big companies too and look classy as one of those women she sees on TV.

Bridget kept her mother busy without thinking about Christy. She made her believe that she was punishing Christy.

“Do you want to go home?” Paul ask Christy seeing how sad she was.

“No, I want to stay with you, you are leaving in a day time right?

“Yes, I want to stay with you for today.

What? You want to spend the night with me?

“Yes, is that not possible?”

“No..no.. it is, Paul got thinking how will I do this? Mom and dad are at home, and I can’t sleep in a hotel, what do I do, and I really want to be with Christy.”

Paul… is everything ok? Christy ask as Paul was lost in his own thought.

Yes, I was thinking, will you come to my house?

“Yes” she answered so excited to hear that.

Ok, but there is a little problem, my mom and dad are around and I don’t think my mom will be happy if I take you home”

Oh.. I see, is ok, I just go home then.

No, I have an idea, he whispers into her ear and she nods.

Ok let’s go, they both enters his car and drove off.

Getting home Paul ask Christy to wait in the car as he went in to see if the coast is clear.

But naaa.. his mom is at the sitting room with his dad watching the news.

Paul are you just coming back? His mom ask.

Yes mom.

Do you know you are leaving a day before tomorrow? You shouldn’t be going out and staying up late ok.

Yes mom, I think am tired, I will just go to my room.

You can just do that boy, his father said.

Paul walked inside and went straight to the kitchen and open the kitchen door, rush to the garage and ask Christy to come in.

What about your mom?” She ask.

Just come in, before my mom sees you.

He took her through the kitchen door into his room.

Are you hungry? He ask Christy.

“No am not, do you want to kill me with food?”

“No, is just that I want you to be ok”

“Am ok, your room looks more beautiful than the last time I was here”

“Really? Maybe you didn’t take your time to look well, maybe is because Sharon was here”

Talk Sharon how is she? Christy ask.

“Don’t know, she should be in her house” Paul said making a face.

“Why do you hate her?” Christy finally ask, she has been meaning to ask him that.

“I don’t like her, she is not a good person”

But that’s not true, she helped me a lot”

Hmmm maybe she was in her good mood then, if not, nothing good comes from her, bloody lesbian” Paul murmured as she pull off his shirt.

What did you say? Christy thought she head something.

Nothing just forget about Sharon ok, let’s talk about us” he throws himself onto the bed and pull Christy to himself.

Just as he was about to kiss her he heard a knock on the door.

Paul jump out of bed and rush the door,.

Hello mom, he said holding the door trying to close it.

“Are you ok?” His mom ask seeing the way he was behaving.

“Yes mom am fine”

“Ok, food is ready let’s go and eat, she wanted to take a look inside but Paul Keep blocking her view.

“What are you hiding Paul”

Nothing mom” he still held the door so tight.

Get out of my way she pushed him aside.

Paul turned immediately, but thank goodness Christy is not on the bed.

His mom scan his room and looked at him, why do you keep behaving strange this days?

Mom is nothing, am fine can’t you see?

My friend let’s go and eat and stop behaving like someone who is hiding something.

Yes mom, I will be behind you.

His mom left and Paul breath a sign of relieve. He went back inside. “ Where is Christy?”

“Am here” he heard a voice coming from his Waldrop.

“Come out she is gone”

Christy jump out from among his clothes and they both couldn’t help laughing.

Wow.. I like that, I was thinking of how to come at of the mess and you save the day, Paul said hugging her.

“Go and eat am fine”

“ Ok just wait for me here and if you hear a knock you can get inside my laptop bag until you are sure is me ok.”

Hahahaha they both laugh.

“Don’t be silly Paul just go…”

“Ok he said and went out.”

“Why are you not eating?” His mom ask seeing how Paul was just playing with the food.

Mom I need to go back and read”

Look I forgot the assignment they gave us in school, so I need to finish it today, I mean this night, can’t I take my food to my room? He ask looking at his mom and then to his dad.

Yes ..yes.. why not? You can go ahead now his father said.

This is new, his mom said.

Mom nothing is new, I just don’t want to miss that assignment, and please I will be needing space, like no disturbance for the next two days, I need to do this mom, just try and be understanding, like coming to my room to knock, when am hungry I will come looking for food, I love you mom, he finally finished with his blabbing. And walk away carrying his food.

His mom just turned and looked at her husband.

Did you just see that? She ask.

Yea, I did, her husband said and continue eating.

She didn’t say much and went back to her food.

Heyy.. Christy come out is me

Christy jump out from the closet.

“You brought food.”

“Yea, I couldn’t eat alone knowing that you are here.”

“Hmmm thank you, this is yummy.. your mom knows how to cook.”

“Yes, just like you”

“What do you mean?” Christy ask.

“I loved the food you cooked the other day you were here”

“Hmmm that? I was just learning to cook.”

“Hmmm and I like your learning,” he steals another kiss from her.

“Will you stop doing that?”

“What”? Paul ask smiling.

“I will kiss you back if you do that again.”

“Really, try it let me see” Paul got up to kiss her again and she ran out of bed making Paul go after her, they keep playing inside the room making Christy laugh out loud.

“What!, Who is in there with Paul?” His father stop on his track, he listens very carefully and thought he had a female voice.
