Chapter 118 Surprise gift
Paul got back home only to see a brand new car that his mother has bought for Bianca, she was over joy dancing all over the place. Paul looked at her and walk pass her to his room not saying anything.
“Oh, my goodness, I never thought I could marry a man like this, I need to call my friends and tell them that they are wrong, my marriage is the best.”
“Hello Juliet, is rose there with you?”
“No, why are you so happy, what’s up?”
“You need to come with Juliet to town, I have good news and we are going to paint the town red.”
“Really, O my God.., let me call her now we are on our way, girl.. you are too much”
“Please hurry, I need you girls right here” she hang up the phone when Paul got back to the sitting room looking at her without saying anything.
“What? Why are you looking at me like that?”
“I guess you are very happy?” he ask her.
“Yes, or do you want me to cry?”
“What about me huh..”
“What about you?”
“Am not happy ok, I hope you just take that car and leave my house”
“What has come over you Paul? What is going on?”
“I told you am married right? And you still went ahead to get pregnant”
“What is wrong with you? I thought you should be happy for me, what is it this time? Is it about that Christy of yours?”
“She is coming back here, so I don’t know how you are going to do it”
“I’ve told you, this is my house, she can’t come here except you want fire to fall from heaven”
“Is that how desperate you are” Paul ask hoping she get angry and leave but no, she is not angry.
“Yes Paul, that is how much desperate I am, for goodness sakes am your wife and am pregnant for you but all you do is love someone who is not even here for you, what does she gave to you, ok I know, she is one of those girls who are using charms to hold other people’s husband, but I will deal with her”
“If anything happen to Christy or my daughter, am going to hurt you so bad, so stay away from them”
“Whatever, just go you are a kill joy” she turn from him and start dancing again. Paul left her in the house and went away.
“Guy what is it again? All I see in you these days is sadness what’s up guy?” James ask Paul.
“Is my mother who wants to live my life for me, she is making sure that I don’t have a happy life, I envy you James, you work hard for your own money, but me!... just because my mother owns the money I can’t say or do anything on my own”
“But you are a strong guy, you have worked hard on your own expanding the hotel business is no small job, you deserve some credit”
“Tell that to my mother, no matter what I do, she will never see me as a man, she is always seeing that little boy she carried in her arms and direct on everything he does”
“But that’s not right, you should stand up for yourself”
“And let my mother die? She will just die, I know her, that is how much she loves me, the only thing is how am going to show her that am man enough to live my own life”
“Hmm, am sorry guy, you just have to do what makes you happy, bring Christy home and stand for her”
“Yea, your right”
“So what is your father saying?”
“My mom cuts all the shots, but my dad will always be on my side”
“Guy, am so sorry for you, mothers can be a pain in the ass sometimes” James said patting Paul on the back shoulder.
“Have you heard from Patrick and Sharon?” Paul ask.
“Yea, I think their wedding is going to be in two weeks”
“Hmm, that’s great, he really loves Sharon, I hope Sharon will forgive me” Paul said.
“Why not, you didn’t do anything wrong to her.”
“Yea I know, but now I know how she felt with me rejecting her over and over again, it hurts man..”
“Thank God that Patrick loves her enough to want to marry her”
“And what has Patrick done this time?, seriously guys why do you people like discussing me all the time? Do you guys miss me that much?”
“My friend sit down and stop getting ahead of yourself, who miss you?” James ask.
“What’s wrong with this one” Patrick ask Paul while sitting down.
“Nothing is wrong with me ok, just mind your business”
“Are you minding yours? When you always talk about me behind my back”
“Guy..guy..guy.. is ok, let’s talk about your wedding what are we putting on?” James ask.
“What else do you want to put on, me am just putting on anything” Paul said.
“Don’t even bother coming to my wedding, putting on anything as what?” Patrick ask Paul.
“What do you want us to wear? The prince of England’s rope?” hahaha.
“Just forget it, I don’t know why am talking to you”
“Calm down guys, we need to look smart that day so let’s just pick a style from this magazine” James brought out one of the magazine and they start looking through it.
“Wait.. wait.. hold it there, is this not Christy?”
“Yes, what about her” Paul ask.
“Why is she always on every magazine?... And you… what are you doing about her?”
“Am planning on buying a house so she and Sharon my daughter can stay there”
“What? That girl has money already why are you buying a house for her?” Patrick ask.
“I don’t care about her money, she is still my responsibility”
“I think he’s right” James said, “ you know women and their money, you better not look at it if not, e go shock you” hahaha they all laugh.
“Yea, I think you are right” Patrick said, even Sharon, she has money but I don’t want to reason her money before I receive insult”
“Now you’re talking” Paul said. Women and their money cannot be trusted, just look at my mother, she runs everything in the home not as if my dad is poor, but he loves her and let her do anything she wants.”
“Hmmm, and now your life is on the line” Patrick said.
“Who told you my life is on the line?” hahahah they all laugh again.
“But on a more serious note you have to do something about Christy, if you can hold on till this time, then I don’t think anything should stop you from been with her” Patrick told Paul.
“You know what? Ever since I know you, this is the first time you are been reasonable” Paul said.
“I don’t blame you, I have always been putting up with your nonsense and you think you are better than me, I don’t want to see you in my house”
“hahaha, what will I be doing in your house? By the way what will I get for Sharon and this one here” Paul ask.
“Buy Sharon a car” James suggest.
“No, don’t buy my wife any car, I will do that for her” Patrick protests.
“Don’t worry, am not buying, I will just buy you an underwear” hahaha both Paul and James keep laughing at Patrick.
“Well I don’t blame you.”
Paul went home that day very happy and smiling but it all fades away when he got to his house and find Bianca and friends dancing and drinking hot drinks in his sitting room.
“What is going on here?”
“Hello honey meet my friends” Bianca said half drunk.
“Hi” he wave at them.
“Hello….” They both chorus drunk as hell.
“Can I talk to you?” Paul took Bianca aside and start asking her what this girls are doing here?.
“They are my friends, why are you so boring?”
“I am not boring, this is my house and my daughter is in this house, what if she sees you like this? look if you want to get high go to a bar with your friends and not in my sitting room understand?”
“Let go of my hands you are hurting me”
Paul looked at his hand and let go of her quickly remembering that she is pregnant, he didn’t want what happen to Christy that she lost their twins to happen to Bianca, Paul would have been a father of three but Christy lost the babes because of Paul.
“But you said your pregnant why are you taking hot drinks”
“Hot drinks dose nothing to a baby except the baby doesn’t want to come to the world, you won’t force anyone to come to the world” Bianca said staggering.
Paul could only shake his head, this are the kind of women I don’t like. “Go in there are tell your friends to leave I want to sleep”
“Whatever” she walk back inside and continue her dancing.
