A short chap

"If we don't get any more points, what I am gonna do?"

"I used up all of my points yesterday..."

During the break, the classroom erupted into a chaotic bunch.

"Forget about the points. What the hell about this class? Why was I put into Class D?!" Yukimura cried resentfully. A thin layer of sweat covered his forehead.

"Wait, does this mean that we can't get into college now? Why did we even go to this school? Does Sae-chan-sensei hate us or something?"

None of the other students could hide their confusion. I would say it again, honestly if hadn't watched the anime, I would be just like them running around like headless chickens.

"I understand that you're all confused right now, but everyone needs to calm down." Hirata, sensing the classroom tipping toward crisis, stood and attempted to rein everyone in.

"How are we supposed to calm down? Aren't you frustrated that she called us a bunch of failures?!" Yukimura said.

Yukimura who lost his cool argued with Hirata who wanted to pacify the situation. Seriously this guys are too weak when it comes to crisis. I wonder if an Earthquake struck the school, they'll start running away to outside the building, forgetting all the Earthquake drills we practiced since elementary?

In the end, Kushida used her social clout to calm everyone in class from self destruction. She really is an important asset for the Class D in the future(save for her dark side).

"Attention, everyone. Before class begins, I want you to listen seriously for a moment. Especially you, Sudou-kun." The class was still in a slight uproar, but Hirata claimed everyone's attention when he stood at the teacher's podium.

"Tch, what is it?" Sudou grumbled.

"We didn't get any points this month. This is a serious problem, and one that will have an enormous impact on our daily lives moving forward. It's impossible for us to make it to graduation with zero points, right?"

Everyone seems to agree with Hirata. However Sudou stubbornly refuses to cooperate with the fact that Class D didn't have any specific ideas on how to earn points.

"Do whatever you want. It doesn't matter. Just don't involve me in it. Understand?" Sudou snapped. As if being in the room made him feel uncomfortable, he left immediately.

Now everyone started admonishing Sudou. They lived their life luxuriously until now, and they placed all their source of bad luck on him. They haven't even warned him before the situation is this dire, not like it's their obligated of course.

Hirata decided to call several students for a discussion. He tried calling for Ayanokouji and Horikita, but they both refused.

"Seishirou-kun, do you have a minute?" Hirata came and approached me.

I was surprised when he asked for me, "Hm, what is it?"

"I want to speak with you about how we can increase our points. I'd like you to join me. Can you?"

"Sure, if I can help."

"Thanks." Hirata felt relieved after that.

We gathered near the podium where several students started to bring their ideas. First was to follow the rules inside the classroom. No being late, no absence, no using of cellphones, no chatting during classes and so on...

"The problem would be on how to earn points." Hirata muttered.

"Yeah, does anyone have any idea?" Karuizawa who was already the leader of Class D girls asked.

Everyone looked grim at it. Just prevention of deductions to our points would not be enough. In order to increase our quality of life, we have to also find ways to increase our Class Points.

"If I may?" I raised my hand.

Hirata smiled when he sees me raising my hand. He must seem hopeful because I was the one who accurately 'guessed' this event, "Seishirou-kun do you have an idea?"

"Yeah. Do you remember Hirata-kun? About what Chabashira-sensei told us in the first day of school?"

"Can you elaborate for everyone of us to know?"

"Alright, If we could rely on what Chabashira-sensei said, her words are exactly like this: "Shocked by the amount of points you've been given? Everyone here has passed the entrance examination, which itself speaks to your value and potential. The amount you've received reflects the evaluation of your worth.""

I even included a slight voice acting and impression using a nonchalant tone of voice, which surprised them a little.

"This is during when the entire class were completely shocked by the amount of points given to us. That means we only just have to do something that would be seen as valuable for the school, right? Just like how we passed the Entrance Exams."

Now everyone's eyes sparkled a bit knowing that there's hope to regain points.

"But how are we going to do that?" one of the students asked.

"Remember carefully what Chabashira-sensei said earlier, she wasn't a heartless teacher we know. There is a hint from earlier." I said.

Everyone exchanged glances, but then only Hirata was able to summon an answer.

"The Midterm Exams..." Hirata muttered.

"Correct." I snapped my fingers at his answer.

Now everyone started to ran their minds thinking that it makes sense.

"We only have to show a high score average in the entire class to gain Class Points points. Every school evaluates their students from their test scores. No matter how strange of a school this is, I doubt that they won't evaluate exams."

If that really did happen, then there's no point for using a traditional education system like any other school.

"Amaziiing~ Seishirou-kun, you were super smart! Didn't know you have that deductive skill!"

Karuizawa and her group of friends started flattering me with praise.

"No way, you're overestimating me."

I said modestly.

Now everyone is looking at me like I'm some kind of Great Detective who was drugged and reverted back from being a kid.

Anyway all of these knowledge came from the anime anyway. I'm just decorating my words to make it sound believable.

Any capably smart person could find my claim had its flaws, but I don't really care as long as it convinced them.

When classes ended and I decided to leave for practice I could feel the gazes of some students on me, particularly Horikita and Yukimura.

I could feel the slight glance coming from Ayanokouji, but nothing more than that. I bet he's already thinking if I'd be a useful tool for him... Scary.

I decided to take a look at my System.

When I checked the system, it seems my Charisma stats had increased significantly. Is it because I took the lead yesterday? Or was it because my "Charm VIII" skill leveled up? Or both?

"Seishirou-kun, you're really amazing. You placed on top. I never knew you're super smart."

I noticed Kushida coming to talk to me. Well to be honest this was just her second time talking to me. It must be one of my skills at work. I still have countless skills wasn't really usually displayed in the system. If I had to guess, it would be the skill "Ninjutsu IX" that had stealth arts, which is a contradictory skill from "Charm VIII".

"I may just looked like goofing around, but I actually work hard you know?"

I said bragging, when in reality the System had played a huge assistance for me.

"You didn't do bad yourself Kushida-san."

"He he. You might think I'm just hanging out with friends, but I actually work hard you know?"

"Pfft. Ha ha ha ha, is that a joke? That's so hilarious~"

We both chuckled to ourselves communicating with each other.

Though my comeback at that one made me sound like a girl in a clique, it's kinda embarrassing.

I guess she just approached me to raise her affection points with me after became a top scorer. Right after when we introduced ourselves to each other, both of us hadn't really talked much. Mainly because I started avoiding her.

Days passed since the first announcement of the dire situation of our class. When it was time for lunch break, Hirata spoke.

"Chabashira-sensei mentioned that the midterm is coming up soon. Remember that if you fail, you'll be expelled. Therefore, I think it would be a good idea to form a study group." Hirata said.

"If you neglect your studies, you'll get a failing grade and be expelled on the spot. I want to avoid that. However, studying won't just prevent expulsion; it may also help earn points. If we receive high marks, our class's assessment should improve as a result. I asked some of the students who scored high on the test to help prepare a study plan. So, I would like people who are anxious to come join our group. Everyone is welcome, of course."

Hirata stared directly at Sudou while making his grand speech.

"Tch."

Sudou averted his gaze, crossed his arms, and closed his eyes. Ever since Sudou had stomped all over Hirata's introduction event, their relationship had been rocky.

"Starting today at five o'clock, we will plan to study in this classroom for two hours a day until the test. If you'd like to join us, please come whenever you like. Of course, I don't mind if you need to leave partway. That's all I have to say."

Immediately after that several students who are at risk of failing went and asked to join. Ike and Yamauchi looked reluctant, but in the end they decided to remain on their seats.

"Hey guys, wanna eat together?"

As expected the mood they weren't in a great mood. After all people on our group, aside from me, was on the failing mark.

"Nah..."

"Sorry, maybe next time."

Oh well, in the end it seems they don't have the drive. Even a God can't help people who don't have the will to do anything. Heck even my system needed tons of work to get my skills and stats to a really high level.

Guess I'll be eating by myself starting now... It's happy while it lasted.

Several days later and things in Class D continued to turn sour.

After getting the top score on the last quiz I managed to get myself some attention in class, especially some of the girls.

Though because of it Ike and Yamauchi were glaring at me out of jealousy.

Apparently Ayanokouji decided to invite them to join a study group that was going to be held by Horikita, just like what happened in the anime.

"Seishirou-kun do you have time today?"

"Huh?"

On my desk I had my mind wandering around when Matsushita suddenly came and talk to me.

I could sense my friend's eyes behind me with their hostility. What's their problem?

"Sure, what's up?"

"Would you like to eat lunch together?" Matsushita asked.

From what I knew she wasn't the type to proactively asked boys like this. She usually stays in the background, and she gets along with her group of friends(though her friends are the 'mean' type). I could get an older sister vibe coming from her, or she really was an older sister.

"Sure, that's fine with me."

I answered. It's not like I have an appointment or anything. And it seems Ike and the others were avoiding me for some reason(I'm pretty much sure it was out of jealousy).

"Where do you want to go to eat?"

Matsushita asked me.

Where I wonder? There aren't many opportunities to go out and eat lunch together with a girl. I may not be a virgin, but stuff like going on a date, eating a lunchbox prepared by a girl isn't among my experiences.

If I had to go somewhere with a girl with me, then I would choose somewhere popular with them.

"Since this is a rare chance, I would love to go on Pallet."

Pallet is a cafe which is really popular with girls.

"You haven't gone there yet, Seishirou-kun?"

"It is kinda awkward going there as a guy alone, unless you were some handsome normie meeting up with a girl. There were a ton of girls, I kind of get the feeling that guys are banned from entering there or something."

"But I think you're really cool Seishirou-kun. You should be confident of yourself."

When she answered Matsushita showed me smile. It would have made ordinary guys without dating experience fall for her. Well to be fair I didn't have dating experience myself.

"Ha ha ha, thanks. That makes me really happy."

Cool huh. I guess compared to other guys in the class my looks aren't bad. It's just that I hanged out with social outcasts and I don't intentionally want any attention for myself.

People must have only started taking notice at me seriously after my swimming and this test.

I don't know anything about Matsushita in the anime. Though I did occasionally see her with a few seconds of screen time. I would guess she must have been a reoccurring character in the series.

This is why I deeply regretted not reading the Light Novels. What a sad life.
