13) The oaths of Knights - 1

Ken Tennyson couldn't believe his eyes. His old car, which used to be a rusty and dented piece of junk, had transformed into a sleek and shiny Mustang. He owed it all to Tom, Kevin's Galvanic Mechamorph dog, who had used his shapeshifting abilities to upgrade the vehicle in just half an hour.

"Wow, Tom, you're amazing!" Ken exclaimed as he hugged the metallic canine. "Thank you so much! You're the best dog ever!"

Tom wagged his tail and licked Ken's face, making him laugh. Gwen also joined in the affectionate gesture. She stroked Tom's fur and smiled.

"You did a great job, Tom," she said. "You really made Ken happy. And you made his car look awesome."

Tom barked happily, proud of his work. He loved his human friends and enjoyed helping them out. He also loved his new creation, which resembled the photo shown to him. He felt like he belonged to them. He was proud and happy.

Inside the house, Kevin and Frank Tennyson were having a serious discussion. Frank sighed as he looked at the screen that showed Kevin's bank accounts. He knew that most of the money Kevin had earned was from illegal activities, such as hacking, stealing, and gambling. Kevin had hired him to help him launder the money and make it legal. It was a risky business, but Frank was willing to do it for his client. He had promised him a heavy amount of money. Besides he owed it to him due to his father. Kevin was using his every way to discover his father. He couldn't refuse him.

"Are you sure you want to do this, Kevin?" Frank asked, his voice low and tense. "This could get us both in trouble."

"I'm sure, Mr. Tennyson," Kevin said with a nod. He knew for sure that Frank Tennyson could do it. The man had did it before. Kevin knew it from his sources. However he had done it for his best friend. Kevin wanted the man to do the same for him.

"I want to start a new life. I want to be a better person. Surely you see Mr Tennyson." Kevin stated with a smile.

Frank looked into Kevin's eyes. He knew he was trapped here. But then again, he had no choice.

"Alright, Kevin," he finally said with a sigh. "I'll do whatever I can to help you. Just don't leak this information."

Kevin nodded with a smile. He knew he had got him. He leaned forward and finally spoke what was going on his mind.

"Mr. Tennyson, I have a proposition for you. I'm planning to open a tech company. A legit one, I promise. I have some ideas and skills that I think could make a difference in the world. And I need a legal firm to handle the paperwork and the contracts. I want you and your firm to be the official legal partners of my new company. What do you say?"

Frank was taken aback by Kevin's offer. He didn't expect him to have such ambitious plans. He wondered if Kevin was sincere or if he had ulterior motives. He looked at Kevin's face and tried to read his expression. He saw confidence and enthusiasm, but also a hint of nervousness and hope.

Frank took his time before he finally cleared his throat and replied.

"That's a very generous offer, Kevin. I appreciate your confidence in me and my firm. But I need to think about it. It's a big decision, and I have to consider the risks and the benefits. I hope you understand."

Kevin nodded. He understood it. He knew that Frank was a cautious and responsible man. It was by pure luck that he had trapped him in the situations. The man was one of the most sought out lawyers in the whole USA, such was his calibre.

He respected that. He said, "Of course, Mr. Tennyson. I understand. Take your time. But don't take too long. I have a feeling that this is going to be big. And I want you to be a part of it."

Kevin's phone buzzed suddenly in his pocket. He pulled it out and checked the message. His eyes widened and a grin spread across his face. He turned to Frank and immediately said, "Mr. Tennyson, I have some good news. The Forever Knights have agreed to meet me tonight. They want to talk."

Frank raised his eyebrows. He knew about the Forever Knights, a secret organization of humans who hated aliens and wanted to destroy them. He had heard stories from his daughter Gwen and his nephew Ben, who had fought them many times. He didn't trust them at all. They were a cult with too much power and backing behind them.

"What do they want to talk about?" Frank asked instantly. He was suspicious of their motives. And he had the right to do so.

Kevin shrugged. It was him who had asked for a meeting about some lucrative deal. It was all a hoax though. They were a useful group. Something which he was gonna milk. He immediately replied, "I don't know. But I think it's time that we made peace with them. They're not our enemies, Mr. Tennyson. Not now."

Frank shook his head in denial. It was a wrong move in his opinion. He immediately let it know. "Kevin, you're being naive. The Forever Knights are dangerous and ruthless. They won't listen to reason. They'll only see you as a target. They'll try to kill you. And anyone who's with you."

Kevin smirked. He couldn't blame Frank Tennyson for thinking like that. However he didn't know the whole truth. He immediately decided to reassure him.

"Don't worry, Mr. Tennyson. I can handle them. I have a plan. And I have a request. I want you to join me tonight. Along with Carl and the kids. I want you to meet the Forever Knights. I want to set a truce between the Tennysons and the Forever Knights. Something that will help us in the long run."

Frank was hesitant. The idea was wild and absurd. Something which was totally insane.

"Kevin, that's a big ask. I don't know if I can do that. I don't know if I want to do that. It sounds too risky. And too crazy."

"And Carl will never agree to it. He would instantly deny the whole it."

Frank pointed out with a frown. It would be impossible to convince Carl for such a notion. He wouldn't allow his family anywhere them.

Gwen, Natalie, and Sandra sat on Kevin's sofa, watching the live TV. They saw Kevin and the other Tennysons, wearing protective suits, walking towards a large building. They knew that inside were the Forever Knights, waiting for them.

Sandra clenched her fists and muttered, "I can't believe Carl agreed to go with them. He's putting himself and Ben in danger. He should have stayed here with us."

Natalie put her arm around her sister in law and solemnly said, "Don't worry, Sandra. Ben is safe with the Omnitrix. He can handle any situation. And Carl is a smart and brave man. He knows what he's doing."

Gwen nodded and said, "Yeah, Aunt Sandra. Trust them. They'll be fine. Kevin has a plan. He wants to make peace with the Forever Knights. He thinks it's possible. Let us not lose hope."

Sandra sighed at her niece. From her son's stories and tales. A group of Forever Knights wouldn't be much trouble for him. However she couldn't help but worry. "I hope you're right, Gwen. I just hope they're all right. I just want them to come back safely." She gushed with a sigh. Her mind couldn't stop worrying for some reason.
