Chapter 4

Inside the Adventure Guild, rows of tables and benches were neatly arranged. When he stepped in, Leo's first impression felt it didn't fit the fantasy world like he thought it would. There were no rowdy adventures or drunk low ranks at the bar. Instead many are going about their business without causing trouble.

Walking over to the counter, Leo found a man boredly waiting. Next to him a woman who gave a strict atmosphere and too much make up watched him.

"I came to register and I have some monster material to sell. Can it be done?" Leo spoke straight forward.

"Yeah, do you need an id card made or do you have one? Monster material can be sold at the counter over there." The man replied.

"Need one made."

Reaching under the desk the man pulled out a small box with a blue gem on top. It didn't look anything fancy as he placed it on the counter.

"Just stick your hand on the crystal and a card should be ready in a minute or so."

Following the instruction, Leo placed his hand on the crystal where he felt the crystal vibrate slightly. Then a small card shot out of the side onto the counter.

"Here you go, that will be five copper for the card."

Pulling the needed amount from the small pouch given to him by Sir Jim. Leo paid him while picking up his card. Soon a small glow engulfed the card and began to show his identity, race, and skills.

[Name: Leo Raiju

Age: 14

Race: Primogenitor Vampire

Job: Martial Artist

Abilities: Immortality, Supernatural Condition, Gender Shifting, Immense Talent, Transformation

Skills: Unarmed Combat (Level 10, Max), Survival Skill (Level 8), Collector (Level 5)]

"Impressive if I say." Leo spoke.

"I say, it's been a while since we had a promising adventurer like you come around." The man answered, almost unfazed by the information. "You almost cleared the hidden requirement to skip the year of guild training. Shame your collector level is one short."

"Is that so? The bar is fairly high." Leo replied.

It usually takes a few years to raise the skill level after level five unless one has talent in such skills. An example of this is two men training their sword skills, man A is talented in swordplay, while man B isn't. While man A could raise his skill to level ten in twenty or so years, man B could take upwards of forty or more to reach even level nine.

"It is considered a hidden requirement for a reason. Sometimes we get old monsters or highly talented kids like you so we have such things in place. No sense in forcing one to relearn something below their level." The man waved his hand. "Well, if you can raise your level you may opt out of the training ahead of the year."

"Thanks."

"No problem, it's my job after all. Now an adventurer is split off into ranks which usually help show one skill. From the bottom we have D- rank which is most common among the new recruits. Not to say there aren't some older ones out there who only register for the adventurers discounts when purchasing through the guild. Going up we got C-rank which serves as an experienced adventurer but not quite outstanding usually handling easy escort or early floors of dungeons. Then we got B rank, this rank is quite good as it shows they are quite skilled and very experienced in their work. Finally, A rank which is usually given to those that make outstanding achievements like slaying a goblin knight or dragons."

"Really, then what about S rank?" Leo asked.

"That rank technically exists but it is more of an honorary title. Usually we give them to those that make outstanding achievements. This can be in the form of protecting a large city from a monster wave or S-rank monster." The man replied. "Usually, the king will bestow a noble rank like Viscount or Earl, so even if one did get one, they don't tend to use it."

"I see, that makes sense I suppose."

"So I was told I could sell monster materials at this counter?" Leo asked the bunny woman behind the counter.

The woman had blond hair and dark brown eyes with a large figure. It wasn't at the nice chubby phase, but like if she started rolling there no stopping. The size actually made him slightly concerned for her health as it was so unhealthy to be such a size.

"Yes, what are you selling?" She asked sweetly like a kind sales woman.

"It will depend if you have enough money on hand." Leo answered as he began pulling a few armor pieces of the Goblin Knights.

While he would like to bring out the rest of the forest monsters he slain and collected. Sir Jim told him to sell in moderation as he would crash the economy otherwise. Anything collected from the Forsaken Forest was valuable afterall, especially the depth.

"Goblin Knight pieces?" The bunny woman said with a slight surprise.

"I have more things, but I'm not sure how much money is on hand." Leo replied.

"Well, these are all in nice condition so how about a thousand gold for each piece? Normally they are heavily damaged so the prices are generally around five or six hundred gold."

"Ok, I'll take it. Can you break down ten gold coins into silver and copper though."

In his memory, he knew a gold coin could allow a family of four to live comfortably for a year or two. So gold coins were really only used when buying a house or large transactions. Otherwise it was more of an inconvenience for others.

"Sure no problem. Do you wish to open an adventurer account? The maintenance fee is two silver a month and you can withdraw from any adventure guild as long as you have your card."

Thinking it over, Leo couldn't decide if he wanted to or not. It wasn't really a bother for him to toss it into his storage space. If anything it seems more like an inconvenience to visit the guild to pull out the money if he needed it.

"Maybe, in the future." he replied as he dropped the coins into his storage space. "Is there an Inn nearby?"

"Just down the street there is the Sleeping Bear Inn. I usually recommend it to beginner and veteran adventurers due to its excellent service and low prices."

"Is that so, thanks then."

"What a strange boy." The bunny girl mumbled when he walked away.

Thanks for Reading.
