Samuel's First Night Mission

Even though Samuel knew he had a assignment to do from that Elf he still managed to get a bit of sleep, a lot of information was dropped on him and in the middle of class at that.

'Just who were you Spade?' Samuel said to himself remembering how monstrous he was and rolled over as he felt his nose touching something and when he opened his eyes he saw that he was face to face with a woman with emerald eyes.

"You are a troubled sleeper for a halfling" Kyla said with a neutral expression on her face as if what she was doing right now was normal "And for a Elf you are very invasive" He replied back while attempting to push her off the bed only to hear the woman gasp.

Warmth covered his hand as he didn't dare to look down as the two locked eyes "And you're a pervert" she said while looking away from him and jumping out the bed revealing she wore a black cloak in the bed with him "Come on we have a mission to get started on" she said while tossing a black cloak to him.

Samuel grabbed it and put it over his uniform while watching her open up a portal in the wall next to the bathroom "Where are we going?" Samuel asked in a hushed whisper only to see her smirk and pulled him through and once they was on the other side they was on a roof top over-looking a village.

"So this is the guy that was with Indra last?" He heard a male voice say as he turned around to see a boy that had a silver necklace and dark blue eyes with jet black hair that's wild and unkempt 'Something...smells...like...a dog?' Samuel said to himself while scrunching up his face.

"Is there something you'd like to say halfling?" The boy said as the smell Samuel was looking for was standing right in front of him "Be nice now Zack! You know what you're here for." The woman said as he nodded while sighing and suddenly reaching his hand out "I'm Zack, for the remainder of any future missions you get from Ms.Kyla will be done with me and for your safety keep this to yourself." He said as it made Samuel raise a brow.

"Why?" Samuel asked as her heard a nervous laugh from the Elf he now knew as Kyla "Because we don't need people knowing Indra or in your case "Spade" actually came back right now, it could cause some difficulties." She said as it was still too confusing for him "Hey genius Indra was- well is, the prince to the Dragon throne the process on who to succeed technically isn't over since he did not die or admit defeat." Zack said as it was a huge bomb for Samuel.

'It would explain how powerful he was, but why did he feel more like a demon than a Dragon?' Samuel thought to himself "Anyways! With introductions over and done with the mission is simple," She said while beginning to point over to a building.

"Zack knows what to do so both of you head on over to get started and remember..." She said while walking towards the both of them and grabbed them by the ears "NO Fighting!" She finished while making a portal and walking through.

Leaving them on their own Zack gave a sigh and began jumping down onto the ground and started his walk as Samuel followed shortly after "So what was he like?" Zack asked as it was unexpected and caught Samuel off guard but figured who he meant since they only shared one mutual friend.

"Spade was...hard to read, even though he was attempting to help me before he was taken" Samuel said while watching the people walk by hand in hand "He can be a bit mysterious," Zack started off to say "He has been alone for a long time before he was adopted into the family. But after a while of spending time with him and a few fights we all became his family, even though we are servants for his father." Zack said while slowly coming to a stop in front of the building they was supposed to go to.

'So is Spade a lost prince? Or is he more like a lost savior?" Samuel thought as they walked inside behind Zack, inside the building was at least two other floors above them as candlelight was the only thing keeping the place lit 'It looks like a underground library in here' Samuel thought while in awe of his new surroundings.

After watching Zack walk up to the desk clerk he came back with a smirk on his face "Alright, Silas's henchmen are in a motel somewhere around here, we beat them up and take the package they're carrying" He said while exiting the building as it made Samuel curious "So what was that place anyways?" He asked as while turning a corner.

"Let's just say secretly we have information grabbers all around the world, anyone that was willing to help the non-human race get some intel in exchange for cash, which is agreed upon when giving information and the better the information the more they got paid. Right now something is going on that Ms.Kyla feels the need to risk her life behind such a feeling and let me in on her operations." Zack said while Samuel nodded.

"Do you know what that something is?" Samuel decided to ask as he heard Zack groan before facepalming "If we knew what it was we wouldn't be out here doing the grunt work trying to figure it out" Zack said while walking faster attempting to leave him behind.

Moments after they found the lodging they were supposed to be staying at they both went inside, noticing the desk clerk and walked past her while she was conversing with other guests and people 'This feels like a real life mission!' Samuel thought while they walked up the stairs onto the third floor "Good, there's only one way up and one way down" Zack said while heading to the last room which was the fifth room on the left.

Pressing their bodies up against the wall they both tried listening for any indication the men they were looking for was inside the room, after a few moments Zack shook his head "They gotta have a barrier up we gotta take them down now!" Zack said while kicking the door down and rushing inside seeing two men in brown cloaks.

With the element of surprise they both managed to take down both of the men and tie them up "Where's the package?" Zack immediately asked as they didn't say anything "Search the room" Zack told Samuel as he started looking in the bathroom first "Do you know who you're stealing from!? He'll have your heads when he finds out" They said as Zack punched them both in the face.

"I think our heads will be just fine, maybe after we steal this package who's to say yours will be?" Zack said as it made them freeze as they watched Samuel check the closet and under the bed "Check the drawers!" Zack suggested and once he opened the bottom one two items covered in black cloth and leather straps was seen.

"W-W-Wait! You don't understand, if you take that we will be done for"

"Yeah man guaranteed!" They both pleaded as Zack watched Samuel unwrap it and saw two daggers, the hilt black as night with a hint of ash color while the blade was bright red with a hint of purple "Is these blades made of....Dragon scales?" Samuel said in confusion but when he looked up he saw the shocked and horrified face of Zack.

"I-It can't be!" Zack said while immediately reaching over to one of the men "Where did you get those blades!? TELL ME!!" Zack shouted as they flinched in fear "We took them from a cave that had those blades stuck in the ground!" He immediately said as Zack had let him go.

"What's the big deal? They're just dual daggers" Samuel said as it made Zack reach over and grab him roughly by the cloak "Do you have ANY idea what those daggers were BEFORE they were daggers?" Zack said while Samuel shook his head no "Those daggers was once a sword, a skill that lets the user change the form of it at will, but before it was a sword it was the scales of the most powerful Dragon to exist....we called him Nemesis" Zack said while staring at the daggers.

"It was said that Nemesis was so strong that he could move between dimensions and maybe even between universes" Zack said while Samuel looked at the blades now with understanding of it's origin "But using these couldn't possibly allow the user to do such a thing, right?" Samuel asked "Maybe if the user was a Dragon themselves....maybe they could do more just grow stronger, the user could even maybe move between universes" Zack said while wrapping the daggers back up.

"We have to get these out of here now" Zack said while handing them over to Samuel and once he took them he watched Zack take off his cloak and black shirt that was underneath "You too are both dangerous and can't leave here tonight, if your boss ever got ahold of those daggers who knows what dangers that could've been possibly been unleash onto the world. Simply put I can't allow you both to do something else drastic after leaving here." Zack said while slowly walking to them.

A pop was heard as his body began changing as Samuel saw his hair and entire body turn into dark gray fur while his hands became claws that was black as night. 'He's a wolf!' Samuel said in awe as he watched him take one swing as blood flew across the room, upon sight to a normal person the place was now disgusting but to Samuel right now it was the biggest tease possible.

His desire to eat became stronger, so strong that he couldn't help himself when he charged the boys bodies and started to help himself to a meal 'God he's disgusting' Zack thought while looking at Samuel drain the first of the two boys fry and moved onto the next.

Now standing in the woods the two was quiet as they could only cast small glances at each other in silence until moments later appearing from a rectangular mirror shaped portal was the lady herself while looking at them with a satisfying smile.

"Oh boy! I guess in the end things got messy" She said while turning to look at Zack after seeing Samuel's face "How'd it go? Did you get the package?" she asked while Samuel held it out for her to take and the moment she unwrapped it her face did the same Zack's did for a brief moment.

"Ms.Kyla, if Silas was to had got a hold of those daggers who knows what h-" Zack started to say until she raised her hand to silence him "I know very clearly Zack, which is why I'm grateful that I sent you and I'm grateful to you as well Samuel" she said while he felt like something was missing again "This Silas guy...are you planning to overthrow him?" Samuel asked as Zack turned to Kyla who nodded for him to speak.

"Silas did not win the fight against Indra, you meeting him proves that he cannot ascend to the throne and even though after all these years of having to fight side by side with him none of us have a familial connection with him and even now the only one brave enough to voice Indra's return was his personal assistant"

"And my daughter" Kyla said to finish his sentence as everything made since now, the leader they want is not the leader they have "You have done us a great favor and if you keep this up maybe we'll let you in more on the loop" Kyla said with a wink while opening the rectangular mirror shaped portal.

Once he walked through he was back in his room in front of his bed and when he looked back he saw Ms.Kyla smiling and waving at him "See ya around" Zack said to him as the portal closed in on itself leaving Samuel there in his thoughts and smells.

After bathing again for the second time that night Samuel couldn't help but smile, this was the first time he ever felt like he perfectly fit in somewhere.
