In the past eight months, he'd already achieved the First Step of his Kaiser Path, and completed some missions to level up once.

He'd chosen the path of death for two reasons:

For one, his system was used to create a death living pill. As such, seeking death would be the best option for him.

For two, he didn't desire immortality since it was too damn boring. Going down any other path would grant him immortality once he reached a high enough realm.

He wasn't sure about what seeking death would grant him. But, since 'death' was a popular term in Roland's universe for perishing, it should give him something opposite to immortality once he reached a high enough realm.

For him, immortality was equivalent to a mortal meditating for thousands of years. Even though it was impossible for a mortal to do so, it proved how boring it was.

Of course, he could be devoid of emotion and then achieve immortality. But this would turn him into a robot-like existence with only goals as their main point of existence; which he didn't want, as he wanted to enjoy his life to the fullest.

Frank held his one-year birthday today. During this period, he did not receive a mission from the system.

Although he was technically the system, he couldn't force everything into emergence since systems never did that unless it was a life-threatening situation.

And would a system host come across something like that for many times? Maybe. However, feedback from the system about the situations would be required to be sent to the Lord in order to confirm the need for such a mission.

If Frank about how him being a system was, he would say that it wasn't always convenient. He frequently had to forge truths mixed with lies that were difficult to find in order to fake responses to the Lord.

As for his one-year-old birthday, it was without a doubt the worst day this year. He would be forced to spend the entire afternoon surrounded by complete strangers, with no privacy or personal space.

All the families in the various surrounding families would gather for the birthday, ignoring all their daily hurdles and sorrows, for everything from decorations to food and drinks was miraculously handed to them by Ask & Embla.

It wasn't like they'd do all of this merely for his birthday. Rather, every descendant from Embla had been impregnated at the same time, and would thus give birth to their children at the same time.

He would also take part in the whole event, to keep his bonds with the community strong and maintain his reputation as a proper, educated child of Embla's descendant; instead of being just an unfriendly guy who doesn't give a damn to personal relationships.

The birthday celebration would be divided into three parts:

The morning would be for brothers and sisters to reunite and share their experiences from the previous year when they were separated.

In the evenings, the families would assemble and build a small wooden platform with a spot for Embla and Ask in the core. The two would then do many things for every child they view; such as deciding their names, etc.

As for the food, it would mainly consist of appetizers such as fresh fruit and vegetables, along with some fish freshly caught from nearby seas. Since this universe had just just started, the only drink accessible would be water.

Families would assemble their children after the sunset to get to know each other.

They would say their goodbyes the next morning, as they would only meet until the 12-year birthday of all children; when they would officially reunite again to embark on their chosen paths.

As all of the children had gathered in small groups, as it was already afternoon.

Frank's bright eyes gleamed with intelligence that was beyond his age.

He'd spent several days in the library, acquiring the name of this mortal world.

It was known as the Werden world, and it was represented by a massive continent. Their current homes were on the edges of it, as they didn't have nearly enough time to travel across the world.

Of course, such a thing wouldn't remain the same after all of them reached 12….
