SUNFLOWER

The sun shined brightly as you stood in the flower field with Hoseok but in your eyes, he shined brighter than the sun.

"Catch me if you can Y/N."

He grinned and started running leaving you alone. After running for some time,you collapsed among the flowers.

Hoseok came back to see you enjoying the sun's warmth. He also laid next to you.

"I want to tell you something."

His tone had become serious. The playful atmosphere had become serious.

To break the atmosphere, you joked.

"Are you going to die or something?."

"Yeah."

He answered.

"What?"

You shouted in his ear making him wince. You started to laugh in disbelief.

"You're just kidding,right?."

He smiled sadly and turned towards you. He tucked a strand of your hair behind your ear.

"I wish I was. My leg started to ache, so I took a PET scan."

You listened intently wondering where it went wrong. Then, he chuckled bitterly.

" It was like a fucking christmas tree!."

He exclaimed and threw his hands up in the air.

"So your osteosarcoma is returning?."

You asked doubtfully. By now, Hoseok had sat up and covered his face. Sniffles were heard. You got up and hugged him while he continued to cry.

"I don't want to die Y/N. I don't want to leave you Y/N. You'll always be with me, right?."

"I'll always be with you, Hobi. Even if you push me away, I'll latch onto you."

You grinned while he smiled a little.

The first time you saw him was when he danced in the rain. It was love at first sight. You continued to push him away but he never gave up. Both of you studying the same university made it harder. So, you gave up.

That's when the spark began. Hoseok had become your addiction and you had become his addiction. Even after losing his leg to cancer , nothing changed. In fact, you fell more in love.

However, his health deteriorated since that day. The days were numbered. Each moment had become more precious with each second. Many memories were created.

Death was inevitable. It took away your life and the reason to live from the loved ones.

When he passed away, your heart also went away with him. With shaking hands, you opened the letter, he had left behind.

"Dear Y/N,

The first time I saw you, I fell for you. You had become a part of my life. I'm happy I met you.

You always told me that I was your sun. In fact , you were the sun and I was the sunflower.

Your sunflower. Our love story may have been incomplete but you made my life complete.

I'll be watching and waiting for you. So, don't be lonely or sad. You can make more memories with someone else. I don't want to write more as I don't want the letter to be filled with tears.

Your heart shattered into pieces as you read each word. However,your room gave you privacy as you cried into your pillow.

Hoseok had danced into your life with joy and exited with tears and beautiful moments.
