The Quite One (2)-He took it too far!

Despite knowing how our new class teacher was, the kids won't miss any opportunity they have to talk to each other every time the teacher leaves the class , even if it was for a second , everyone would use that opportunity to do something they couldn't do in front of him. Sometimes it is talking to each other or copying from each other during assessment, everyone just prayed the the teacher should leave the class often .

All i did when the teacher leaves the classroom was to watch has the class put on happy faces , it made me want to giggles but most times I would wonder why he left the class .

If he knew he was going to leave the calss for about thirty minutes , he would assign to us some assessment to keep us busy.

The kids would still play and roam about before they start the assessment , while all I did was to write and watch them do their thing .

The teacher left has usual , he was just passing by when he saw two of his previous student kneeling down . He couldn't just pass by I suppose, he decided to enter the class room. He asked the mistress what their crime was and she said that they forgot their books at home . Forgetting one's book at home was always considered a lie to most teachers they just assumed you didn't do your assignment, which was mostly true in most cases. The teachers would normally search their bags to see if that was true and in this case it was true , the only mistake the students made was not telling the teacher ahead of the class, so they were punished.

The teacher concluded that the punishment was not enough, he started telling the mistress that it was common of them to do such, that they did it a couple of time while they were in his class.

When this incident broke out it was made known that it was only of the two students did that in the previous class and he only did that once and he was punished for it.

The teacher asked one of the mistress' students to go and fetch his cane . When the young girl entered the class , the class was noisy so no one noticed her except me . I saw her take the cane and run out of the class . I knew it was trouble, who could this man want to beat again? I thought about it at the moment but I told my self not be surprised .

The girl hurried to give the teacher his cane - Then teacher asked them to stand up on their feet

I tried to put myself in their shoes, the kids must be wondering why the teacher interfered and they must have cursed him in their heart . Our teacher was mainly feared because of the way he beat the kids , he never hits them.on the palm he prefers beating them on their bottom and that was exactly what he did.

He gave them both 20 strokes of cane, and they couldn't help but cry outloud when the pain was more than they could handel. Other students who witnessed this were terrified they all knew how unfair and totally unnecessary for the other teacher to beat them like that.

Even I agreed when I heard of what happened to them .

But then- why didn't the mistress do anything to stop what was going on? she must have thought she was doing the right thing by letting him beat her students.

The mistress probably didn't realize that she made a fool of her self and showed she was un capable of handling and punished her students. She didn't know that letting another teacher punish the students you have already punished is disrespectful and downgrading !!

As if getting beaten was not enough, the teacher asked them to continue kneeling until it was pass lunch hour. And what did their mistress say to this? she just said they deserved it and that they wouldn't try that again . She seemed grateful to the teacher , perhaps she forgot what they were getting punished for, when I heard about this the only thought that crossed my mind was that perhaps the teacher forgot that they were getting punished for just forgetting their notebooks and not stealing .

The students were carried away by what they were doing at the teacher's absent, so they didn't realize that he was about to enter the class with the cane in his hands . But I saw him and quickly compose myself, not Like I was doing something wrong but I wasn't prepared for his entrance. Only few could return to their sit when the entered the class and the ones standing knew it was trouble for them. I sensed he wasn't going to spare them because he looked upset and yes he didn't, he floged them and asked them to point at the students that was also playing with them . One of the boy pointed at few of his friends while the other refused to involve anyone in it. Although what he did was good but if he were to point he was going to point at the girl who sat next to me , they were both chatting at the teacher absent maybe all he did was cover up for her . Is that the privilege that comes with being pretty??
