Chapter 48: Attack(1)

Luke looked outside the window while sitting in a comfortable wooden chair. He liked the peacefulness and quietness around him. He then saw Nash quietly reading on the bed and smiled. This peacefulness continued for a week. Luke felt like he never wanted to take his butt off the chair. He feels lazy, and it is a good feeling. That means he is relaxing.

He looked down through the window and saw Liam practicing his sword while the kids and Spencer were practicing magic diligently. He also saw Lina and Selena dueling with each other and Julius practicing controlling plants in the garden. They have all been practicing so hard since they heard that a war would very soon break out. Luke simply smiled contentedly as he leaned back in his chair.

'Ahh! So peaceful-'

Beep! Beep!

Luke frowned.

'Maybe not.'

Luke picked up the magic communication device that was beeping beside him and looked at Nash. Nash then connected some mana to the communication device and the crown prince's face immediately appeared. Luke sighed and then talked in an extremely exaggerated manner.

That means he is just annoyed.

"Oh my goodness! The future sun and glory of the kingdom is personally calling this lowly noble. I am so deeply touched! I will remember this day and pass it to my successors. What a lovely-"

· Can you just shut up? I am just annoyed as you are so shut up.

The crown prince saw Luke's face immediately turn blank and clicked his tongue. He then sighed.

· My third brother's birthday will come soon in two days. And I called you to invite you.

Luke frowned.

"...Can I say no?"

· I knew you would say that, but you can't. Mother and father have been bugging me about you. They said that they should meet the courageous heroes of Ceb City and Hak Village.

"Oh my lord."

Luke sat back in his chair and closed his eyes. Lance just looked at this lazy bastard in front of him with a frown.

They've been calling each other more frequently in the last few weeks. And the more the crown prince calls, the more he learns about Luke.

'Basically, he is a rude, lazy, and sort of responsible guy... Even though it has been months already, he hasn't even spread rumors about the royal family, not even a little bit. He appears to be the type who avoids getting involved in difficult situations.

Which made Lance wonder: where did this bastard pull the guts to threaten and bind him if he didn't want to get entangled in the first place?

Lance stopped thinking when he heard Luke's lazy voice.

"I don't want to go."

Lance sighed.

· You lazy bastard. You need to go. Noah and Finesse were also bothering me about when you would come home.

Luke's face crumpled. He was silent for a few seconds and then sighed at the end.

"... Fine, in any case, how's Klein?"

After that, an awkward silence came between them. Luke just blankly looked at the crown prince, which made the crown prince sigh.

· By the way, just where the hell are you? That doesn't seem like the room you have at the estate. I heard from Noah that you went to the East.

Luke smirked and spoke.

"I'm in the middle of the ocean, your highness."

'The ocean between the western and eastern continent, actually.'

Luke found out about this fact thanks to Nash roaming around the ocean below the other day. He was relieved that they weren't on top of private property and were instead on top of the vast ocean. It makes things easier for him to run away when things go wrong.

"Never mind, so how will the celebration be held? Are you going to throw a noble party or something?"

· Well yes, but before that, we will hold a parade around the capital. The third brother really likes being in the spotlight, you see.

Lance and Luke chatted with each other for a while before ending the call. Luke just sighed and stood up from his seat. His body felt numb from sitting for a long time and stretches for a little bit. He then heard Nash speak.

"Hey, by you mean the third prince... Is it the bastard who that Paul guy works under to?"

"Yeah."

Nash's face turned serious. He appears to have not forgotten the incident at the wedding reception. Luke just sighed.

"Forget about that day, we will soon be participating in the third prince's birthday, so we better behave ourselves or we'll be going to get in trouble."

Nash pursed his lips for a bit and squinted his eyes as if he was hesitating before frowning.

"...Fine."

Luke patted Nash's soft head and went out the door while Nash jumped on his shoulder. They then went outside where the other members were. They were all still busy practicing. Luke called out to them to get their attention.

"Hey guys, listen to me for a sec."

The group stopped what they were doing and gathered around Luke. Luke cleared his throat and spoke.

"The third prince's birthday will soon be held in two days. Who wants to come with me?"

Spencer, Selena, and the kids all frowned and spoke almost simultaneously.

"No, I don't want to go."

"Will the nobles be in there?"

"Uh... After experiencing a noble party once... Uhm..."

"I don't want to go!"

"They are all mean!"

"I want to stay here!"

Luke nodded as if he understood and then looked at Liam, Julius, and Lina.

"I'll go wherever Brother Luke wants to go."

"I've never been to a human's party... I'd like to go and see what it's like."

"I also don't want to go but... If brother Nash is coming then I'll come too."

Luke nodded.

"Alright, then let's all go. But Julius and Lina, don't ever reveal your true identities to others, no matter what."

Lina and Julius nodded. Luke then turns around.

"We'll leave tomorrow."

Luke then walked straight into the castle after saying that. He then went back to his bedroom and sighed. He then heard Nash speaking beside him.

"I heard that there will be a parade. Are parades fun?"

"Yeah, but don't you ever reveal your appearance. It will get you in danger."

"I know that already. "That's something you always say. "

"I'm just saying this so you won't get hurt."

"Hmph!"

Nash left his shoulder and went back to bed. Luke just stared at him for a while before returning to his chair and looked at the sunny bright sky.
