Chapter 18: Mine(2)

As they walk through the noisy marketplace, the citizens all waved at them and sometimes pass them baskets of fruits and vegetables.

The children happily carried and ate some of the foods while following Luke. Luke just sighed and ignored the people waving at him energetically, it makes his stomach turns just by looking at it.

Luke stopped in front of the shop that sells potions and bought five bundles of high-grade healing potions and put it in his spatial pocket in his coat. He then went to the weapon's store and saw the owner of the shop getting flustered.

"A-ah! Welcome! How may I help you?"

"Please bring me the best sword you have. I would like a heavy and durable sword."

The owner nodded and ran into his shop at lightning speed. He then came back running with a dark blue wooden box and place it in front of Luke. The owner then slowly opened it for Luke to see what's inside.

Inside the box, there is a black scabbard and a shiny hilt with some unique designs carved into it. The owner then lifted the sword with slight difficulty because the sword was heavy and passed it to Luke. He then warned him

"Be careful, that sword is heavy...!"

Swoosh!

The owner's jaw dropped while looking at Luke who was effortlessly swinging the heavy blade in one hand and the heavy scabbard in the other hand. Luke then shot a question while still swinging the heavy sword.

"Uncle, this sword is durable yes?"

"Ah? Yes! Yes of course! That sword is very durable! That is my best sword!"

Luke looked at the owner with surprise and sheathed the sword back to its black scabbard.

"Best sword? Are you sure you are okay for me to have this?"

"Huh? Of course! You saved our lives! Giving you my best sword is the best that I could do to repay you."

Luke looked at the owner and asked a question.

"How much is this?"

"Ah, for you I'll just sell it for 500 gallons."

Luke's eyebrows twitched and then took out two thousand gallons from his pocket and placed it on the owner's palm. The owner is about to say something when Luke said something first.

"Take it, this is at least the appropriate amount for this sword. And besides, I think you need money to repair your house right? So take it. You can keep the box and I'll just take the sword. Okay? So bye-bye."

Luke turned around before the owner could even say a thing and he then placed the sword on his waist.

The owner looked at the back of the young hero who saved the City along with the other heroes following him. He felt tears flow down from his eyes but immediately wiped them.

Luke sighed and looked at his group following behind him while looking around.

He saw the children staring at him while holding his coat. Luke then took out some money and passed it to Spencer. He then talked to the invisible Nash.

"Nash, shop with the kids. I'll be heading back first to the inn. All of you, buy stuff that you needed for tomorrow."

The children, Spencer, and Selena nodded. Luke heard Nash's voice.

• We'll be back soon.

Luke felt his shoulder getting lighter and concluded that Nash already came with them and started to look around the market while going back to the inn.

He saw a store selling maps and bought an accurate map of the kingdom. He also saw a stand selling hair ties and bought a bundle.

He didn't care about the gazes he received on the streets and just kept walking. After that, he went inside the inn and headed up to his room.

Luke plopped down on the bed and opened the map in front of him. He then scanned the western part of the kingdom, it is where the kingdom's coastline is. He thought that it'll be good to run there but he remembered Selena's complaints.

'Let's take the carriage next time... please.'

Luke frowned and pondered for a bit.

'I guess it'll not be too bad to use the carriage?... No, Tim might find the mine if I dilly dally around. We'll take the carriage after we get all the mana stones, this could help the children and Spencer too.'

Luke put the map in his pocket and laid down on his bed.

It is early in the morning and Luke and his group saw people waving at them while smiling. Luke just frowned and hide his face with his hair. But he then flinched at the shouts of the people waving them goodbye.

"Sir Luke! We will never forget you!"

'No, please forget me entirely.'

"Sir Spencer! Bye-bye! I hope you will have a safe journey!"

Spencer just walked straight and ignored it, but he looks proud of himself though...

"Kids! Please take these cookies! Have a safe trip!"

A box of cookies was been thrown from the crowd and the kids caught it. They then wave from the direction the cookies came from and gave their thanks.

"Miss Selena! You're so cool!"

Selena waved left and right like a celebrity while laughing as she keeps hearing praises about her.

Luke just looked at this sight in front of him and decided to walk faster. His face is stiff while walking and while hearing the voices of people around him. Even though he heard some people praising his teammates, all he can hear was praises about him, which is terrible.

"Sir Luke! Thank you for saving the City!"

"Sir Luke! You're so cool!"

"He one punched the high orc!"

"Woooooo!"

• Hey, the humans here really like you. They're all looking at you with smiling faces.

Luke bit his lips while covering his face with his hair more. He looks like he's about to tear up.

'Oh my god, shut up... Please forget me and shut up.'

After going through the crowd. They finally left the City. Luke let go of his hair and sighed in relief. He felt like he just came out from hell. He then pulls out a hair tie and tied his hair to a ponytail. He then looked at his companions.

"Let's go."

Selena then stepped up and asked nervously.

"We're... Going to take the carriage this time, right?"

Luke answered her with a straight face.

"No."

Selena looked at Luke with a devastated expression. Spencer just frowned and the kids smiled. They then heard Luke's voice.

"We're going to the west."

Spencer then started to protest.

"Hell no! We're in the northeast part of the kingdom and you want to go to the west?! And just by running?! You are killing me!"

The children then made a sad face and spoke.

"That's too far..."

"I can't run that far."

Luke then bit his lip and talked to the being on his shoulder.

"Nash, what about flight magic?"

"Flight magic is draining to use. We could at least get there halfway with my magic."

"Halfway... By halfway, you mean around the location of the rocky mountain?"

"Yeah, I could at least reach there with all of us."

"Perfect, let's go."

Luke and his group's bodies float and started to fly in the air with great speed. Selena and the kids seemed to be enjoying this but Spencer just blankly stared at them. Luke just ignored them and was absorbed in his thoughts.

Rocky Mountain is where Luke planned to go anyway. That is where the mana stones and the second power is located.

In the novel, one of Tim's miner's accidentally found a magic container and obtained its power. That power is [Aura], as in sword master's aura.

But here is the problem, when the miner first found the power, he was so surprised that he tried to disturb the flow of power within him, and when he used that power in the war... He blew into pieces.

But Luke is not planning to do that kind of stupid mistake. Having to become a swordmaster and obtain aura even without much training with the sword is basically a cheat. But Luke liked those cheats and plans to take all of the useful ones.

After 13 hours of flying, they arrived near the rocky mountain. They arrived in a village and Selena and the kids roamed around to find an inn. Luke and Spencer followed behind them. While walking, Luke heard Spencer's voice beside him.

"What are we going to do here?"

"Hmm? Rest, obviously."

"You sounded like this is your destination though."

"Ah."

Luke doesn't want to explain so he just lied.

"I heard that rock mountain is a pretty place to go sightseeing. I wanted to see it."

"...Really?"

Spencer looked at Luke suspiciously. Luke just stared at him with a frown and pushed his back toward the children and Selena waving at them as a signal that they found an inn. Thankfully, Spencer didn't ask for more questions and just let Luke be.

The group then entered the inn and saw a black-haired girl at the reception. Selena then ordered separate rooms and each went to their respective rooms to rest.

Luke arrived at his room and Nash stopped being invisible and sleepily laid on the bed. Luke patted his back.

"You worked hard, get some rest."

Nash slowly nodded and fell asleep. Luke put a blanket around Nash and looked through the window. There are still a few more hours until nighttime, he'll let Nash rest until then.

After a few hours, Nash woke up and saw Luke standing up from the bed and opened the windows. A chilly wind came rushing in as soon as Luke opened the windows. His hair and black coat fluttered in the wind. Luke then looked at Nash who is looking at him.

"Let's go treasure hunting."

"What?"

Luke smiled and then lifted Nash's small body. He then slowly put Nash on his shoulder and then slowly stood at the windowsill. Nash looked at Luke with surprise.

"What are we going to do again this time?"

"Hmm, obtaining power and loads of money?"

Luke smiled at Nash and focus his eyes outside.

"Nash, flight magic. What we're going to do tonight is a secret between you and me okay?"

"A secret... between you and me?"

"Yes."

Luke said with a smile. Nash's eyes glistened and shouted.

"All right! Let's go!"

Nash cast flight magic with a smile and Luke's body started to float. Luke then started to head towards the rocky mountain.

Luke thought that everything will be fine since he left the inn secretly, but he didn't know that someone watched him flew out through the window. It was a woman looking out of the window while looking at Luke's shoulder in surprise.

Her black hair flowed in the wind while her head is sticking out of the window. She looked shocked while looking at Luke's body floating towards the rocky mountain.

"No way..."

The girl's eyes glistened.

"Is that... A legendary beast?"
