Chapter 89

With a big thud, the headless body of the commander zombie drops on the ground. The undead is dead for good this time. Its head has been crushed by a little girl not as big as half of its arm. As for Yui, as soon as the moment she managed to destroy the brain of the abomination, Yuno has pulled up the chain wrapped around Yui's belly and caught her sister.

"Let's go, Yui!" Yuno says, holding her little twin sister's right arm. She looks at the blood oozing from the other arm of her little sister.

Yui's left arm has been broken from the elbow down, making it totally limp. Glancing at it, Yuno can already feel the intense pain that Yui had to go through. She can not even imagine the degree of suffering her sister had to endure in order to completely destroy her arm like that. Her left arm is the result of Yui finding the destruction frequency of bone matter. If she did not do something like that, then her life would have been lost entirely. Yui chose to sacrifice instead of not seeing Sam again, which is something that Yuno would also do, so she can understand that. The fact that she was able to destroy one zombie commander almost entirely on her own is extremely commendable. It cost so much, but she did it nonetheless.

"You came on time, Yuno!" Yui exhales. There is a hint of exhaustion in her soft voice. Rather than the normal cute sound, it is a little bit more coarse. It may be because of the aftermath of Screeching Scream. The lower lip of her mouth has been bitten open when she was suppressing the pain before, and her face still has lines of blood all over it. Sweats run down from Yui's temples, indicating the excessive use of mana. Clearly, she is not in her best state.

"Let's go!" Yui whispers. She holds onto her bigger sister.

Yuno nods, and the two sisters start to gather Wind Elements in the air. With their hands joined together, the twins are the strongest right at this point. They both feel the elements around them stronger by at least two times. Thanks to that, an even more elusive element can be felt and controlled.

Their hairs stand up as their heterochromatic eyes shine a green light.

They need to run, and they need to run fast. The best way to escape all of the zombies that are running towards this place is up. Of course, the Twins can always turn back to finish up the Hero, but the effect of Screech Scream is only temporary. He can wake up at any given moment. This makes it extremely risky. Especially when Yui is under such a bad condition and zombies are gathering from all around them after the screen, it is not worth it.

With her hand joined with the other one, the big sister steps forward onto completely nothing. But strangely, her body lifts up as if there is an invisible staircase in the air. Right after that, Yui follows, and the same thing happens.

This is not something normal magic can do. This is something much more advanced than that.

Greater, more powerful than the Wind element, it is none other than Space, the Prime version of Wind.

Running on invisible platforms, the two quickly move upward into the sky, away from all the danger below them. Shortly after, they are way up in the air without any kind of threat.

Over at the location of the legion of women and Hero, zombies keep on gathering very quickly. They either feast on the females or rape them, turning the targets into disgusting monsters like the zombies themselves. But for some reason, the place of the Hero is untouched. Even though he is just lying there unconscious, the zombies are not touching him. It seems like he has some kind of immunity to their detection.

While looking down on the pandemonium that is forming, the two breathe out a sigh of relief. Choosing to go up in the air is a good choice. The number of zombies down on the streets should be in the tens of thousands. Yet it shows no signs of stopping.

"Why aren't they eating him?" Yuno asks.

Yui tilts her head slightly. "Because he is the Apostle? He should have some kind of special advantages that we don't know of, right?"

Putting her other hand on the chin, Yuno thinks carefully. "Yeah...The Apostle, huh? I wonder why he was selected to be the Apostle. Maybe he even has an immunity to the disease. He is someone the Goddess has taken interest in, after all. Having an advantage in the Selection is not something too overwhelming if we are really talking about it."

"It is true. He probably has secret weapons that we don't know of." Yui agrees with her sister.

"Knowing that but you still chose to attack him! It was a very bad move, Yui! You could have died!" Running towards the direction of Sam, Yuno turns her head at Yui.

Yui sighs. "I know. But it was a one in a million chance, you know. If only I was a little better at timing, that thing would have been able to catch the Hero while he was falling. You would do the same if we switched."

"Well, that is true. Yuno would have done my best to kill that bastard. Did Yui find anything about that Hero so we can use it in our favor?"

Yui shakes her head. As she tries to remember what has happened until now, there is disgust in her voice "Not really. Although it seemed that he was not in his right mind, he was probably having sex with the women he saved or captured. Don't worry about Yui. Only Sam can have my body!"

"Oh, Yuno doesn't doubt that, for sure. But what about his mental condition that you spoke of?"

"Hmmm. The asshole was...off. Besides fucking and killing, he did not utter a single word to anyone. And even when he was sometimes on the ground that Yui could see, he was always having a look of madness in his eyes. He kept on mumbling things to himself. Rather than his old pathetic self, it seemed to me he was more broken than..."

But just as Yui is about to finish her sentence, something dangerous occurs.

The Hero has awoken.

Very quickly, the sky above changes. Under the influence of strong winds, thick clouds cover everything in a huge area. Temperatures drop drastically down to freezing in less than a minute. Standing in midair and looking at the sky above, the two girls' breaths turn into white smokes.

Still, that is only the beginning.

Water elements in the air gather around the Hero and fly into the sky. They create streams after streams of liquid until it has formed a big pool of water.

"Yuno, we need to run inside of a building now!" Yui yells at her sister. In her chest, anxiety is growing. The freezing temperature, their breaths, the water, there is a massive spell forming.

"Yuno can see that!" Replies Yuno.

They immediately run into a building.

"Don't go high, go lower, if this is what I think it is, we need to have as many layers of protection as possible!" Yui says. She has an idea of what that Hero is trying to pull off.

"Got it!"

*Whoosh*

The pool of liquid flies into the sky. It started out small, just the size of a bathtub, but now it is bigger than a building. Then, it goes into the clouds high above and disperses into numerous smaller parts. Right after that, the freezing temperature turns all of them into Ice Lance.

If anyone could be at this height, they would be terrified at the sight.

Countless of Ice Lance strengthened by the freezing air are floating in the sky. They are just waiting for the final order. At this height, even a small pebble can be fatal. Not to mention these Ice Lances are as big as an arm and as sharp as razors.

The Hero stands up from the ground and looks at the scene around him.

His legion of women is being turned into undead. He can hear their screams, their cries, their sobs. He sees the terror inside of every single one of them. But he pays them no mind. He is also terrified by that being, so he needs to finish it.

The Hero brings his arm forward, pointing his index finger into the earth.
