Chapter 88

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!" From Yui's throat, immense sound waves escape, stunning everyone except for her. Before casting the spell, she has already had her protection. However, 4 clear lines of blood are visible on her delicate face. 2 on the eyes, and 1 on each nostril. This spell is a suicidal attack, after all.

The sound wave quickly travels all around the area until it reaches the Hero and a little further than that, causing his movement to stop. His eyes turn up to the back of his head. This also happens to the female magic user legion.

Over at Yuno, a deafening sound pierces through her ears, causing her an immense headache even when they are a few blocks far. Strangely enough, even though that sound is extremely uncomfortable, the zombies on the ground seem to be unharmed from it. But it makes sense. They have no sense of pain anymore, a mere discomfort will not make them falter.

She knows that voice. The scream is even though very feminine, it has strength, power, and determination. It is her sister's. This is the sound of their spell, Screeching Scream. Back in the one month of training with Sam, they created this one together to find a way of incapacitating people without actually attacking them. It is something that has almost no damage at all, yet can be incredibly annoying. However, the user will be the one most affected by it, since they are in the middle of the explosion of sound.

To make it less painful for the user, that spell has two phases. Firstly, noise-canceling for the magic-user with the Soundproof spell but only inside of the head, and the execution phase. Without the first phase, the user will die.

Almost right away after hearing the scream, Yuno kneels down and covers her ears to reduce the volume. That is still not enough. The thing about Screeching Scream is that it has a specific frequency that human ears really hate, similar to that of pressing a fork on a plate or fingernails on a blackboard. And that frequency resonates with the whole body, therefore making those in the affected zone vulnerable to it, even if they can cancel the noise. For Yuno, since she is relatively far away, the sound does not affect her that much.

"Yui...what are you trying to do revealing yourself like that?" Yuno mumbles. "Huh?!"

She approaches the edge of the building and sees the reason. Very noticeably, the big light orb that the Hero has created above his head dissipates after the scream of Yui. It looks like he was trying to conjure up something big, but the scream interjected his train of thoughts, erasing the visualization of the spell immediately and causing him to lose consciousness. His figure also falls down from above and crashes on the ground. It is unknown whether or not he is dead from that fall.

From the distance, Yuno can not see so she can not also judge. The possibility that Hero has died from the fall is highly unlikely. The armor he wears has everything covered from his head down to his feet. It is the gift of Lord Kan before sending him off to participate in the Selection.

In the air, the big zombie misses its target due to the sudden drop of the Hero and slams on the ground, killing a few of the female magic users. It looks to be a little confused. But then, the disgusting face notices something. Or to be more exact; someone.

Only one person is standing.

Yui.

"Fucking shit! I messed up the timing!" She curses. If it were just half a second sooner, the zombie would have been able to catch the hero while he was falling.

Her body glows up with a Defensive Aura and Physical Enhancement. Then, not even bothering to wipe off the blood on her face, Yui starts to run. There is no time for her to waste. She needs to get to Yuno as soon as possible. With her twin sister, their power will be enough to battle or at least run away.

"GUOOOOOOOO!!!!" The big zombie looks at Yui and runs towards her. She is one delicious prey in its eyes right now. With both arms still inside of the vehicles, it smashes the ground to push the body forward. Its posture is like that of an elephant-sized gorilla.

*Wham* *Wham* *Wham*

With each step, it gets closer to her. At this rate, Yui will be captured by the zombie. Thinking of something, Yui puts her right arm onto her left.

Wind Magic: Resonance.

*Vrrrrr Crack crack crack crack*

"GYAHHHHHH!!!"

*Slash slash*

Yui swings the blade she has been carrying, cutting the heads of the zombies chasing after her. The previous spell used half of her total mana reservoir and mental capacity. Because of that, she has a tremendous headache right now, no way she can use anything complex. Even with the protection before using Screeching Scream, the drawback is still too heavy for her to take. With her mind still foggy, Yui can not visualize anything usable right now. The best she can use right now is a single-element spell.

"There she is! Get out of there, Yui!" Yuno sees her sister struggling afar and screams out loud. She needs to step in now or Yui is going to die. Around Yuno, Fire and Wind elements gather. She prepares three Fire Bombs flying around her. Then, with no hesitation whatsoever, she jumps off the top of the building.

"I'm coming, Yui!!"

In the palms of her hands, Wind Elements burst.

Wind Magic: Gust.

Strong winds blow from the ground up. Yuno utilizes the air pressure generated from Gust to push her body up, lowering the speed of falling. Thanks to her affinity in Wind, she can reduce the velocity down to around thirty percent of normal. Of course, that much is still too much for the height she was on.

In the air, Yuno's body glows up. She has applied onto herself Physical Enhancement. The muscles and bones inside of her body are strengthened rapidly by mana.

"GRAAAAAAAAAH!" On the ground, a bunch of zombies sees her. And they start to run after Yuno. Their jaws open wide and disgustingly drool all over their chins.

*Boom!*

One Fire Bomb drops onto the ground, blowing up the bunch of zombies. Still, many more have noticed the commotion at this place, and they all charge at her.

"Hold on! Yuno is coming for you!!!"

*Boom!*

She throws one more Fire Bomb, blasting her way toward her younger sister. The light from the explosions makes it easier for her to see, but it also attracts more zombies.

*Whoosh*

From the corner of somewhere behind Yuno, an Ice Lance is shot at her body.

"!!"

She feels it. The cold air that is coming.

Not even looking back, Yuno makes a side step. The Ice Lance flies through, impaling the monster ahead.

"EAT THIS, FUCKERS!"

*BOOM!*

One more Fire Bomb is used.

Even though Yuno has learned that these monsters are best decapitated, she needs to be able to see in the darkness to fight. Therefore, Sam's Fire Bomb is a better choice in this case.

Yuno runs as fast as she can, throwing and blowing up the undead. But further away, Yui is not making it.

*Whoosh* *Bam*

"ARGH!!!" One magic-user zombie throws at her a fireball. Having no time to dodge, Yui takes the full hit. She is still holding on to her arm for some reason. At this moment, when in the middle of life and death, all the potential inside of Yui's body is ignited.

Blood and adrenaline rush into all the corners of her body, making her think better, even clearer than before using the scream.

*Crack crack crack crack crack*

"AAAAAAAAH!!!"

From her left arm, blood starts to come out.

Also, bone fragments are protruding.

*Bam*

"ARGHHHHH!!!!"

Yui's painful screams spread through the air. Her armor and the buffs can still last her a bit longer. She keeps pressing on with all of her might. It is almost finished. She is close to finding the correct frequency. Even with better bone density, if the material is still the same, it does not matter.

Yui has been breaking her own left arm to find the destruction frequency of bone.

*Whoosh*

"GUOOOOOOOOO!!"

The arms of the big zombie lift up in the air as it jumps, trying to crush Yui underneath its unearthly strength.

*Fooo*

Wind Magic: Gust.

Yui pushes her body away from her old location with wind magic by several feet. She used her left arm for it. The right arm is still on the left.

At that same moment.

*KABLAM!!!!* *CRACK!!*

"GAAAAH!! KAK!!"

Even she has been blown away by the wind, the shockwave still hurts her. The small girl coughs out blood and falls to the ground.

Her left arm is no longer straight. It is limp.

As if there is no bone on the inside.

*Boom!"

An explosion occurs, pushing the zombies away temporarily.

"YUI!!!" Yuno has arrived.

"Wrap me with a metal chain and throw me at that fucking shit while it is still in recharge for the next attack!!"

Yuno nods and her palms spread out a shiny greyish thing.

Sam's Creation Magic: Metal Chains.

*Whoosh clink*

The bigger twin sister throws the chain to wrap around Yui. Then, she pulls her sister close.

"Fire away! Big sis!" Yui smiles. There is a hint of crazy in her heterochromatic eyes.

"GUOOOOOOOOOOO!!" The big zombie looks up. It is confused once more. That prey should have been killed already.

*Whoosh!!*

Yui flies through the air with the metal chains on her waist still held by her big sister.

Light gathers at the tip of Yui's right index finger. She closes her eyes.

Light Magic: Blind.

"GRAAAAAAAH!!!"

The area is quickly enveloped by a white flash. Because the big zombie has been too focused on Yui, its eyes are temporarily blinded by her magic.

*Pachi*

She grabs onto its head with her right hand. The face of the monster has been blown away, only the skull is left.

The little girl bites her lips to withstand the pain of moving her left hand as she touches its skull.

"GRAAAAAAAAH!!!"

The monster yells hard, trying to grab Yui. But the muscles on its arms are too huge to do something like catching her on its neck.

Yui's hair stands up.

Wind Magic: Resonance!!

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!"

Yui yells her warcry.

There is one thing special about the Resonance spell.

Once the frequency has been found, as long as Yui can remember it, she can instantly use and destroy anything.

And Yui does not forget anything.

With Resonance, she is the ultimate destroyer if she has the time.

*CRACK*

"GRAAAAAAAHHHH!!!" The abomination tries to shake Yui off.

"AAAAAAAH!!!" She holds on tight. Her fingers dig into its steel-like skin.

*CRUSH!!*

The skull bursts open, the bone punctures the brain.

And the big zombie ceases its movement.
