Chapter 10 The Beginning Of Daka’s and Vex’s Friendship

As Daka beat the game she began to stretch as she said "We finally beat it!" Felix sat there for a moment before saying "But aren't you the one who made it through all the levels?" Daka smiled as she said, "But you did your best!" Felix sat there silently for a moment and then mumbled "But I never made it anywhere." As Daka stood up the mouth on the back of her head said "Now that you two idiots are done get me some food." Felix stared at the mouth as he said "It can talk?" Daka blushed as she said "I-I'm sorry, I'm not able to control what the mouth on the back of my head says, please just ignore it. As Daka opened up the refrigerator the hair began to grab food and feed the mouth on the back of her head." As Felix watched the mouth eat he asked "Where does it all go?" Daka glanced at him while blushing as she said "I don't know… but it usually eats a lot." Felix continued to watch it as he asked "What happens if you don't feed it?" Daka sighed as she said, "It unfortunately complains and hurts me until I feed it." Felix thought back to when they were in the cabinet as he asked "Does it also eat people?"

Daka stared at him surprised by the question as she said "No… but I'm guessing it thought you were food." As Daka looked at the time she said "It's getting late, we better go to bed soon." As Felix sat there he glanced at his tree and said "Okay… I'll just sleep on the floor next to my tree." Daka stared at him as she asked "But won't that be uncomfortable?" As Felix laid down beside the tree he said "Not really, the cool air actually makes it perfect." As Daka moved the table to the side she unfolded the bed from within the couch and said "Well… okay then." Daka sat on the bed for a moment and then blushed as she said "I-If it gets uncomfortable for you… you can… lay up here with me." Felix stared at the roof as he said "Okay, but I'll perfectly fine down here, so stop worrying so much." Daka peaked over the bed at him and asked "But what if you get sick?" Felix stared at her as asked, "Can fox spirits even get sick?" Daka his her head slightly more as she pulled back and blushed as asked "Then… can I ask you for a favor?" Felix yawned as he said "Sure, what do you want?"

Daka's face became even redder as she said "Promise me you won't leave me in the middle of the night while I'm asleep." Felix stared at her silently for a few seconds as he asked "Is that all?" Daka nodded as she then completely hid herself and whispered in a barely hearable voice saying "But it's fine if you don't want to." Felix stared at the roof for a moment and then smiled as he said "Sure, I can stay here until you wake up." Daka peeked over the bed once more and then said "I'm sorry for being so selfish." Felix stared at her for a moment and then said "Don't worry about it." As Daka laid down Felix thought "Besides, I get the feeling that if I wasn't here Vex would've given her a heart attack." After laying there for a few minutes Felix's ears moved as he said "Vex is here." As Felix sat up he glanced around the room and then looked straight up and seen Vex floating above him as she blushed and said "H-hello." Felix stared at her for a moment and then put his finger in front of his mouth while saying "shh" while pointing to Daka. Vex glanced at Daka as she whispered "Oh sorry, I only came here to meet her." As Felix stood up he whispered, "I figured you'd show up."

Felix stood there for a moment staring at Daka as he quietly asked "Is that the only reason your here?" Vex nodded as she said, "I-I was too nervous to meet her in broad daylight" with an embarrassed look. Felix glanced at Vex as he whispered "I'd recommend meeting her when there's still sunlight outside, otherwise you might scare her to death." Vex began to float around her as she said "Okay, but I wanna get used to being around her first." Felix stared at her for a moment and then laid back down on the ground while saying "Well, I said what I wanted to, so I'm going to sleep." As Felix laid there Vex nodded and said "Okay, I'll make sure to be extra quiet." Once, Felix, was asleep Vex laid down beside Daka while smiling as she said "Two new people have moved in recently, this is exciting!" As Vex poked Daka's cheek with her finger she said "I have to get used to them, physical contact is the quickest way." As Vex began to play with Daka's cheeks Daka slowly opened her eyes and asked "Felix… what's going on?" As Vex and Daka stared into each other's eyes Vex quickly disappeared and Daka shouted "It's a ghost!" Daka began to glance around the room as she mumbled "I didn't know this place was haunted."

Daka pulled a blanket over her head and hid under it as she mumbled "It shouldn't be able to get me here." As Daka hid Vex reappeared in front of the blanket and nervously said "I-I'm… not a scary ghost." Daka peeked out at Vex as she asked "What do you want from me?" Vex stared at her for a moment and then blushed brightly as she said "I… wanted to introduce myself to you… but I got nervous and avoided doing it." Daka stared at her as she nervously asked "D-do you also live here?" Vex nodded as continued to blush while saying "I didn't mean to startle you, I hope you'll forgive me." Daka set the blanket aside as she said "I-I'm sorry if my reaction offended you… it's just that I'm new to all of this… I haven't been a yokai very long… so I'm sorry." As Daka and Vex both sat there silently Daka broke the silence as she blushed and asked "Would you like to play a game with me?" Vex also blushed as she nodded and said "O-okay." As they played the game until sunrise Felix sat up while yawning as he said "Good morning." As Felix saw Vex and Daka playing a game he mumbled "What happened while I was asleep?" As Felix watched them he stood up and picked up his tree as he mumbled "I did what I said I was gonna do so I'm gonna leave now."

As he walked past them Daka excitedly said "Before you go… I wanna thank you for staying with me… even though I was selfish… but I won't have to rely on you anymore… Vex said that she'd stay over at my place with me whenever I feel scared or lonely." Felix stared at them for a moment as he said "Okay… I'm gonna go now if that's alright with you." After not receiving an answer Felix left the apartment and let out a sigh of relief as he said "I can finally go back to my apartment." As Felix entered his apartment he set his tree back down beside his bed and said "It may not be the best but it's still home." As Felix glanced at his bed he seen a plate with food on it and a note that read "I noticed your room doesn't have a lot, so I've decided that I'll help you out with meals, from Silkie." Felix stared at the food for a moment and then picked the plate up as he said "Maybe she isn't as scary as I thought." As he held the plate he sniffed the food and said "But just in case maybe I should check if it's poisoned."

Felix stared at the food for a moment and then asked "Wait would poison even work on me?" Felix shrugged as he ate some of the food while saying "Whatever, if it kills me it kills me, and if not then I'll gratefully accept this meal." While eating he smiled as he said "It's so good, I didn't know Silkie could cook." As Silkie entered his room she stared at him for a moment and said "Oh good, you did come back, I was just about to get the plate and offer it to Daka." Felix stared at her as he nervously said "O-oh, I had to… do something?" Silkie smiled as she asked, "So what do you think of the food I made?" Felix put his thumb up as he quickly said "It's the best thing I ever had." Silkie stared at him excitedly as she asked "Is it really?" Felix nodded as he thought "It is, but even if it wasn't I'd tell you the same thing out of fear for my life."
