Chapter 50 : Learning To Cook In Magical Ways ( part 1 )

Wang Qian and Bai Lian was brought to a luxurious big room with lots of people in it. The people were all wearing fancy clothes, while talking to each other with elegance. They were shocked as they thought that the dining room they were going to was like the one at the City of Memories, with it being spacious but not big, and only has a few people in it.

"Is this... the dining room?" Wang Qian asked

"Yes, this is the dining room. If there is nothing else, I'll be taking my leave first." The servant replied. Wang Qian couldn't hold himself as he contacted Tie Feng.

'Tie Feng, is the dining room like a big spacious hall with lots of people wearing fancy clothes in it?'

'Replying to my lord, yes. That is exactly the dining room.'

'....do you have any rooms were it's small and doesn't have much people? I don't wanna interact with people.'

'Replying to my lord, we don't have that kind of room yet. But if my lord wants, I can send people to bring the food over to my lord's room'

'That will much be appreciated. I'll head back to my room first.'

'Understood. The food will arrive in about 10 minutes'

Wang Qian and Bai Lian then went back to their room, they sat on the sofa together while reading the copied texts. After waiting for a while, the food finally arrived. Wang Qian got up and opened the door. There was a servant outside, he pushed the serving trolley in his hands inside the room and placed the dishes on the big table at the middle.

The servant then bowed before closing the door and left. Wang Qian and Bai Lian got around the table as they looked at the dishes while taking in the fragrant smell of it. They sat on the floor as they took the dishes and started eating.

After finishing their meal, Wang Qian brought the empty plates to the kitchen as he washed it. Since there was nothing to do, they headed to bed early. Probably because of not sleeping for days in the void, Wang Qian fell asleep very quick.

The next morning, Wang Qian woke up early as usual. He looked towards his left and saw that Bai Lian was already wide awake.

"Good morning. It's unusual for you to be up this early in the morning, was there something that bothered you?" he asked. Bai Lian shook her head as she replied

"I kept hearing the sounds of people walking by our door, I couldn't sleep because of that" 

"Is that so? I'll ask Tie Feng the reason later and see if he can stop the people from making noises again."

"Okay"

"Well, time to take a bath now. Our breakfast should already be coming, I'll wait outside first."

He said as he got up and head to the living room. Bai Lian then got off the bed as she entered the bathroom. Wang Qian who was outside, sitting on the sofa also started hearing the sounds of footsteps mentioned by Bai Lian earlier. 

Curious as to what was happening outside, he opened the door. What he saw was a servant outside walking back and forth in front of his door. Nearby the servant was a serving trolley filled with food. Hearing the sounds of door opening, the servant look towards him before having his eyes light up.

"You're finally up, Mr Wang Qian. I've been waiting here to give the breakfast to you."

"....how long have you been here?"

"About 3 hours."

"....Never mind, come in."

"Thank you Mr Wang Qian. I'll be quick."

The servant pushed the serving trolley in and quickly placed the dishes on the table and left. Before he left, Wang Qian pulled him back and said.

"Next time, you can just come to this place at this time. There's no need to come here so early in the morning."

"Understood. Sorry if I disturbed Mr Wang Qian's sleep."

"It's okay. You can go now."

The servant closed the door as he left. Wang Qian then said to Bai Lian, who was in the bathroom taking a shower.

"Bai Lian, are you done? Our breakfast is here already"

"I'll be done soon, papa!" 

"Okay"

Wang Qian entered the kitchen and took the plates from last night and placed it on top of the breakfast to keep it warm. After finishing doing so, he saw that Bai Lian already came out. 

"You're done? Come here and let's eat. It's going to be cold soon if we don't"

"Aren't you going to go take a bath, papa?"

"I'll do it after eating."

The two then sat on the ground as they started digging in. The breakfast they had was bread and some half-boiled eggs. They quickly finished it. Wang Qian was about to take the plates but Bai Lian quickly took it before him as she headed to the kitchen while saying.

"Papa should take a bath first. I'll clean the plates for papa."

Hearing her words, a smile appeared on Wang Qian's face as he got up and headed towards the bathroom. 

"Thank you, sweetheart. I'll be done real quick. Don't open the door before I am"

"Okay"

Wang Qian quickly finished his session and got out to the living room. He saw that Bai Lian was sitting on the sofa. He sat next to her as he asked

"What do you want to do today? We can go out and have a walk on the street while eating delicacy or go sightseeing. Which one do you want?"

"Hmm, how about we learn how to make dishes like papa said yesterday?"

"That's good too. I'll contact Tie Feng now."

'Tie Feng, are you there?'

'Replying to my lord, your loyal believer is here.'

'Can you send the professional chef you were talking about yesterday? I want to learn how to make dishes now since there's nothing to do.'

'But my lord, there's still the thing about the curse.'

'Oh right, how can I forgot about that?'

'It's okay, my lord. We can just change the time from the afternoon to the night.'

'Sorry about that.'

'My lord doesn't need to apologize. The professional chef is on the way to my lord's room, he'll be there in about 5 minutes.'

'Got it. I'll contact you again if there's something else.'

'Understood.'

Wang Qian then turned to Bai Lian as he said.

"The chef is on his way. We'll get to meet him in about 5 minutes. Do you have any dishes you want learn from him?"

Bai Lian shook her head, signaling she isn't that interested in making dishes.

"I'll just learn how to make the basic dishes." she said.

"Is that so? Then looks like I'll be spending more time learning from him."

Soon, a knock was heard on the door. The person outside then said

"Is Mr Wang Qian in there? I'm the chef sent over by Mr Tie Feng to teach you how to make dishes."

"Coming!" Wang Qian replied.

"Look, he's here already."

He then got up as he headed towards the door. When he opened it, an old man that was wearing clothes similar to a butler's appeared. He bowed towards Wang Qian as he introduced himself.

"Greetings to Mr Wang Qian, I'm Shi Yan ( Shi= food, Yan= fire. )."

"Greetings, you can come in here. There's no need to stand outside."

Shi Yan then entered as he headed towards the kitchen.

"Is there no materials for making dishes here?"

"Mr Tie Feng should have ordered someone to send it over. It should arrive soon"

"Then I'll wait for it to arrive."
