I Reincarnated And Became The Shadow Butler Who Saved The World

This is my very first story and I don't know how to write a story so I hope you enjoy! "I'm sure you already know the present circumstances, so I am going to ask you for a small favor. Can you save this world? In exchange, I will give you a tiny bit of my power to make your job easier." Those were the words I heard in my dream. This is the story of how Zeta, the weakest general in the Hero's army in his past life, saved the world... As a butler! *Story might start off a bit slow but, things will begin to speed up around Volume 3. Also, the butler part is going to be insignificant in the earlier chapters but, it will get attention, soon *Update times might be a bit unstable but, I will try to make sure that the maximum amount of time in between the chapters is only 2 days. *Chapter Length: 1000 words to 1650 words Limit, Exceptions May Happen

Chapter 54: Am I Allowed To Be Able To Do This?!

Author's Note: After this, there will be only 1 chapter tomorrow on Saturday and then I will take a break until Tuesday. I mean, I need to have rest as well.

After my amazing show of power, we continued on with the session. Surprisingly, the time it took for me to finally redirect one of Glaive's attacks was only 15 minutes. I thought that it would have been much longer.

Also, there was a bit of a commotion after the whole sparring match thing. I think one of the guys who were at the entrance gave Glaive my files. It then turned into a chain reaction of people getting surprised about how I fought Glaive while I was blind and how I was a descendant of the 1st Hero, all of that stuff.

But, the real surprise was when they found out that I was under the care of Uncle Ostensio. It is not really because he was famous but, it was more like they knew that Glaive was a friend of Uncle. He told me that the person he saved was actually my aunt. I then asked him if it was okay for him to tell me when the person in question didn't say anything yet.

We made sure to say all of that quietly. However, some of the older kids here and even one of the instructors were suspiciously more surprised than everyone else when it was announced that I was under the care of Uncle. Okay, maybe it wasn't suspicious but, just in case.

Anyway, Glaive started showing everyone else how to do some sword techniques. All of them were simple ones like the ones I learned back in Vulcan, like Sharp Knocker. He then went on to say that every human has some sort of amount of Mana as it is literally the lifeblood of this world.

Wait, does that mean that the book I read about magic before was outdated?* He said that even inanimate objects like rocks have tiny amounts of Mana, like in the single digits only. He said that is was previously thought that the 10% of people who couldn't use magic had no Mana.

It was then discovered that they do have Mana. It is just that they only have enough Mana to keep their bodies functioning. They do not possess any spare Mana to use for magic and they can't tap into the Mana used for their bodies, unless through forceful means, as there are limits to the human body.

I have clearly established the fact that I am literally Mana-less as he said that even people who have no spare Mana give off an ultra-faint glow when they want to generate Mana. I literally had no glow at all so, what does that make me?

I remember Luke said that there was something in his world called veerus, or something. It was an anomaly as it fulfilled a few rules for being alive but didn't fulfill the others. I am kind of like that. It is very clear that I am alive yet, I don't possess the thing that makes things alive. Even fricking rocks have more than me. The reason Golems exist is because rocks that have more Mana than usual clump together and become alive through spontaneous Mana Gatherings.

That was how I left the training session with an existential crisis stuck in my head. Oh yeah, he also mentioned that you could use Mana to power up your attacks as you can channel it through your body to make it stronger. He didn't elaborate but, that gave me an idea that could would be ingenious if it actually worked.

After a long session of practicing and exercising and learning new things, I walked out of the entrance. And, the person who was waiting there for me was someone I wasn't really expecting at all.

"Oh, you're done already."

"Kyra?"

Yes, I know she is not acting as hostile as before but, I thought it was only limited to neutrality. Plus, she has Internal Dichotomy, which means that either one or maybe even both of her personalities agreed to come here. Which is weird as I thought we still weren't close enough to pick each other up from events.

"What, you think that I wouldn't show up? I mean, you said it yourself. We are related to each other."

Oh my Death God.

Is this... growth?! Is she actually accepting me now!? No, wait a minute. I just called her Kyra without the Miss part and she didn't even react at all. Whenever I did that in the past, she would get really angry and run away.

"Don't get the wrong idea. I said that we are related. Nothing more, nothing less. *Tone And Mood Change* C'mon Alex, let's get home so that we can eat a snack already. I'm hungry."

There it is. One is hot-tempered and never lets me get too close while the other is immature and cares mostly for herself and her family. Maybe I am included in the family for the childish one?

"Oh, blind kid. Wait, is that the demon next to you? Oh my god, I am so scared."

"Hey, what are you doing here?! You are always alone and doing all sorts of weird stuff yet you dare to stay in front of the entrance!?"

Damn.

Isn't that too harsh? They just insulted both me and Kyra at the same time. Though, it almost sounds like they are focusing much more on her. Does she get bullied? But, why though? I know that no one knows that Aunt Alyssia is actually a demon but, is Kyra a demon as well? Are they inherited or something or is she a half?

Also, why did they call her a demon? Even I don't know if she actually is one so, it is probably a derogatory nickname.

"Alex, I don't like these guys. Let's go back. *Tone And Mood Change* These good-for-nothings think they are so important. We should go."

"Huh!? You gonna run away?!"

"No. It is just idiots are much harder to argue with than anyone who can actually think."

Wow.

It started as one-sided bullying but, I am pretty sure that Kyra's last line just finished off the battle. Just as the famous author of the strategy book from Luke's world. "The greatest victory is that which requires no battle."

It didn't come to violence and she was able to effortlessly deter them this time. Such amazing technique. I can learn from that.

********************

The days passed by and, the bullies just kept on coming back for more. They seemed really intent on getting their revenge on both me and Kyra for making them look like fools. Well, when they said that, Kyra just said that they looked so much like a fool that we didn't really have to help much.

Another epic insult.

Anyway, we kept bumping into them almost everyday and they kept coming back for more. Sometimes though, Kyra wasn't able to go back to her brutal personality in time so I had to step in and protect her.

Of course, no actual fighting occurs. Only minor scuffles here and there. But, since they were so insignificant, we had no reason to trouble both Aunt and Uncle. Speaking of them, I actually started talking with the both of them much more.

I really feel like this place is actually home now. With the happy voices of everyone, sometimes including the childish Kyra. To help classify them, I will just call them Brutal Kyra and Happy Kyra.

Also, amazing stuff just happened.

(Calido, where are you right now?)

(I am just in the forests outside of the city.)

(Where are you exactly?)

Calido then told me where he was. When I arrived through shadow shifting, I asked for Calido to give me the gem stone which was containing his soul before and sucking up most of his Mana. I placed the stone onto Aether and told Calido to pour Mana into the stone.

And, amazingly, I felt heat coming off from Aether. The heat told me one thing and one thing only. That it was on fire right now.

...

Am I allowed to be able to do this, Death God?!

*The book he read was back in Chapter 13: No Magic!?

Sorry but, due to pacing issues, I will just make one chapter tomorrow then take my long break until Tuesday.
