Chapter 55: Secretary

The meeting has concluded after 4 hours. Resources needed, Strategy tunning, Emergency handling, Dungeon Spoil and many more has been talked about as well.
Everyone agreed that those Hunters who wants to participate in the subjugation mission were to wait in the Polo Island as a back up force.
And everyone also agreed that we will handle enemy one on one because there is no way for us to train as a group now when the battle is about to begin tomorrow. After all if we depleted our mana today, we will only have few mana left for tomorrow's fight and we deemed it more dangerous.
Currently I am with David walking in the hallway, he is currently trying to stop other people from the meeting room that wants to talk to me for some reason.
I told them that currently I am very tired and want to take some rest but they still insisted on wanting to talk to me. They even went as far as to fight verbally with each other just to get the others give up on me.
Their intention is probably to make some connection with me, which is very clear but I already have Mr.Soreso with me, who deals with everything related to politics for me.
"David let's teleport." I said and he just nodded.

We arrive at his father's office but there is no one inside so we decided to take a seat first.
"Thanks for earlier. I did not expect those people to be like that. If not for you there I would probably get mad at them." I said to him.
"They are not awakened like us so they couldn't feel the oppressing sense you gave off."
David put his arm on my side, I signaled him about the CCTV but he didn't listen and just get closer to me instead.
This guy really, I thought he would open up the issue earlier. Good thing that he didn't, I feel like I'm the one who's at fault at that one after all.
"Are you sure? I actually don't feel like that to anyone yet. But I can clearly differentiate everyone's mana signature and life energy. Tell me are you intimidated of me right now than before?" I asked.
"Yes, I actually don't feel that when I wasn't awakened yet but after becoming one, I could feel already the difference between the two of us. I was just trying to hide my fear from you when I first feel it but I got used to it pretty fast, after all you are very submissive looking without a hint of intimidating look on you. And I like dominating someone on your caliber, I think it increases my ego or something."
He said while smiling naughtily at me.
What have I done? Did I accidentally awakened his weird fetish?
"You are hopeless. I think other awakened people would feel the same thing to you as well. Even much more than me. After all, you don't look cute at all and your muscles added to your intimidating look."
"My muscles? You really like them do you?"
"Kinda, if not for that I won't even have the thoughts of entertaining you."
"So you won't like me anymore if I become fat or skinny?" He asks.
"That depends on the future, if I fall for you badly then I will stick to you, for sickness or for health. But if not, I'll leave you of course."
"I'll make you fall for me badly then I'll look for someone better if that happens."
He replied and suddenly I feel like I want to get mad at him. But I resisted my urge, I've started it so I need to stand my ground.
"Yeah sure, I don't mind. But could you introduce me first to your friend with blue eyes? I think he has a much more bigger thing than you so we are probably compatible."
I smiled at him but he's not liking what I just said.
"So you like him? You still have Clark and Charlie over there, waiting to strike anytime and here you are being interested in my friend. Are you really that itchy? I did not lacked in meeting your needs though? Is size the real problem? Mine is already big enough to make my exes give up on me though."
David panic and got worried. He's so cute, being like this as well.
"You're making me sound like a whore. I'm kidding ok? You are more than enough for me. I am starting to like you in a romantic way actually."
I look at him and his eyes are very happy. I guess I can see now why his father said those words to me.
So this is the person that I have to keep? Well I don't mind.
He hugged me hardly after hearing my words.
"I guess we are making progress. This is a good sign." He whispered.
"Yeah. but please stay away a little. I can't breath."
He move away immediately.
"Sorry, I just got carried away. I do like you romantically as well already so I'm just happy to hear that you feel the same to me as well."
"I could feel it even if you don't say it."
I replied.
Yeah, I like David in a romantic way but I don't fully trust him. I am still worried that his feelings might change later on.
He's smile turns that of a worried one so I got curious immediately.
"Tell me, what brothers you. Is it about what we talk earlier?" I asks and he nodded.
"I think I should tell you this. My secretary is actually my last ex-girlfriend. My father didn't know about her and so she did about him. So we ended up in a awkward situation."
I see. That's why my intuition is on alert.
"Well do you like her or not?" I asked.
He look at me straight in the eye and he become serious.
"Not anymore. I'm just afraid that you will not like it and would be mad about it." He worriedly said.
"If you didn't explain it well and I figured it out myself I would probably get mad at you for hiring your ex as your secretary. It's fine with it now since you shared it with me immediately. I'll trust you that you won't do something with her that might upset me."
I said seriously.
"Of course, I won't. I promise." He said and kiss me on my cheeks.
I hope David knows how dangerous being in a relationship with me. He's basically affecting me and my mood. If he do something stupid who knows what will I do to him and to her ex if I go insane.
Suddenly the door opened and both David and I fix ourselves.
The one who entered is the Chairman who was holding documents along with her secretary who was holding the same thing as well.
David stood up to help but he stop when they both put their documents in the table immediately.
"Are you here to give report to the meeting?" The Chairman asks while seating in his chair.
His secretary immediately proceed to her table as well and received calls immediately.
They are very busy.
"I think I'll just let David do the reporting. I'll return to my office now to prepare some things and arrange my appointments to the representatives of other nations." I stood up.
"Sure, by the way Clark has been appointed as your secretary. He's now waiting for you in your office."
Oh talk about a terrible timing. Mr.Soreso fuck up his entire wish by himself.
David look at me with a look full of questions and I just shrugged my shoulders at him and signaled that it's his father decision. Good thing that his father wasn't looking at us.
"I see, I'll take my leave now. Thanks Chairman."
I activated my magic and immediately teleported to my office.
When I arrive I immediately saw Clark inside. As I arrive he immediately stood up.
"Archie, I've choose becoming your secretary and the Chairman agreed with it. Actually my job is two, he told me to be your bodyguard as well and make sure that no one will do something that annoys you. I'm good at doing stuffs that has been ordered to me especially paper works so you can trust me."
For someone who only study and did not experience a social life, of course I expected that you are good at paper works. You are probably better than me. But I did not expect the Chairman to really hire him as my secretary. Maybe he trusted my words when I said that there is really nothing between us.
Or maybe his reasoning might be too complicated but there is one thing that is for sure, he recognizes Clark's ability to protect and watch over me. He's an Elite force after all.
"I'll trust your words, I know that you are a capable person. Tomorrow you can start your Job, so today you can take some rest or find a place to stay if you have none."
I said.
"Thank you. Then I'll take my leave and see you tomorrow. By the way thank you very much for the item. I feel like it's a very powerful one, I want to pay for it. It's very useful since I will wear it every time I'll use berserker to regain my senses."
"It is indeed a powerful item that would be able to amplify your ability and made you able to resist being mindless while using berserker mode.
