Can't Be An Angel
A novel about a quirked up chinese otaku boy who's goated with the sauce that got transmigrated into a wacky cultivation world with some generic cheat. In case you didn't get the gist of it by now, this is just a comedy transmigration novel that references "quirky" chinese internet culture. Although the translation is good, some of the jokes get lost in translation or are just too unrelatable due to cultural barriers but despite this the comedy isn't offensively bad. I haven't even cracked a smile but who knows, someone else might. It's alright I guess, I'm not very impressed but if you want to kill time then this is perfectly acceptable. The novelty here is that it's weird to see how similar yet different chinese zoomer humour is, the novel has nothing else going for it. 2.25/5
This novel was a complete letdown. He basically surpasses the world in cultivation levels immediately without any struggle or exploration of his abilities on the way. The novel doesn't even build up the different levels and their differences for it to be meaningful. Characters intentionally act irrationally, presumably for comedic relief but it just comes off annoying.
This story is honestly a good read. I can attest to that. If you’re honestly bored or don’t have anything to do. Reading the boring middle part will bring you to a satisfying end. While this book does have its boring moments such as repetitive plot once you read through it the good moments just are nice and decent. This novel needs more ciew in my honest opinion
