- NO, you need to think about this the other way around! I thought you understood this already...

Elisabeth sighed as she tried to explain Melody what was necessary to get into the main server of Harm industries. They were already at it for a couple of hours but even though Melody was in general someone to understand things easily and then continuing to find things out on her own, this time it was different.

Elisabeth had taught Melody for years, but this time, she just wasn't focused enough. She asked questions that Elisabeth had already answered and forgot the simplest of things. It would be a very odd behaviour for Melody, however Elisabeth already knew why her pupil was acting this way: Jack Dream. Two days ago the two of them told her that they were now a couple and that they had already done 'it'. Just the thought of her sweet girl doing it with this... this... this rascal was enough to send shivers down her spine.

She didn't dislike Jack. No, in fact she grew very fond of him, so much that even though she only knew him for a couple of days, it was as if he was her little brother, at least that's how she felt about the situation. And with him being her little brother, it was unacceptable what he did to his precious daughter!

Well, technically Melody wasn't her biological daughter, but the two of them definitely had this sort of bond, only a mother and daughter could have.

Melody was sitting next to her on the soft carpet, cross legged and was looking somewhere and nowhere at the same time. She was lost in her own thoughts, probably about Jack.

Elisabeth cleared her throat to get Melody's attention, but she continued to stare into nothingness.

She cleared her throat once again, this time louder and visibly annoyed by Melody's lack of attention and reaction.

Melody realized what was going on and quickly apologized to Elisabeth and asked her to repeat her last sentence.

- This can't go on like this! Listen here Mel, you need to get this stuff into your head! This is complicated, even for me so you need to be fully concentrated on this! We don't have this much time left, so I would appreciate it if you would forget Jack for a minute and give me your undivided attention, are we clear on this?

Melody began to nod while looking a bit embarrassed by having been caught in her daydreams and at the same time she looked like she wanted to start a fight with Elisabeth. But it seemed like she decided against it and just sighed.

- You are right Eli, it's just that... I don't know... I have never felt this, this sense of fulfilment, it all seems to click! Do you know what I mean? It's like my life has a purpose and I have found what I have been searching for up until now! You said you have a boyfriend yourself, so surely you know what I mean!

Indeed, Elisabeth had a boyfriend, a sweet man who was always at her side when she needed him, he was truly a wonderful man she loved with all her heart... Guilt overcame Elisabeth and she decided that she shouldn't be so hard on Melody.

- Yes, I know exactly what you mean... It's just that... No, nothing, forget what I said... Anyway, it was Jack who wanted you to do all this! We are here on his request, so if you love him, you can fulfil his wish, can't you? That's something you should be able to do, especially as his girlfriend, don't you think so?

These words seemed to hit the mark. Melody began to blush yet again and mumbled something about her trying to fulfil all of his wishes, after all he did that too, and then she seemed to make a decision.

- Alright, I am now fully prepared to this! Teach me everything I need to know!

She puffed out her chest and seemed really proud of herself, it was a sight to behold and Elisabeth couldn't hold back her laughter. Melody began to pout in embarrassment and demanded Elisabeth to stop. With tears in her eyes of all the laughing, Elisabeth apologized.

- Sorry Mel, you are just too great, watching you is just too good, come here!

- W-Wait, Eli, wait! Ahh!

Elisabeth had tackled Mel to the ground by hugging her, still laughing. At first Melody tried to escape Elisabeth's grip, but after a while of her struggling, she gave in and began to laugh too. While squirming on the floor, she hit the table next to them, knocking over the glass that was located on the table that promptly emptied its content onto the two of them. Luckily for them, it was just water and the two of them began to laugh even louder, without a care in the world. There they were, lying on the ground, hugging each other like best friends, their clothes wet from the glass of water that fell onto them.

Then, without a warning, Jack kicked the door open with a worried look on his face. This lead to the two girls lying on the ground beginning to scream in a high pitch voice, leading Jack, who was holding a gun in his hand to cover his ears. He looked at the two of them and quickly began to apologize

- S-sorry, I didn't know, I thought that...

Then he left in a hurry, closing the door behind him.

- Was he... blushing or am I going crazy?

Melody asked Elisabeth, who was looking just as confused about the situation as her. She then realized that both of them were wearing a white shirt, which was drenched by the water, leading to their underwear being visible through their clothes. Now it made sense why jack acted this way.

- ... Mel... We should change our clothes, don't you think so...?

At first Melody looked confused, but then it seemed to make click in her head and she realized why Jack began slightly blushing and why he left so quickly after entering the room.

- Y-yeah, we should do that...

While going to the closet in the room, the atmosphere was starting to tense up. They were in Elisabeth's bedroom, where they had always studied for the last few days.

- Stupid jack, ruining the atmosphere like that...

Melody was the first to speak up.

- Yeah... But did you see his face though?

Then they burst into laughter yet again, which they couldn't stop. They just stood there for fifteen minutes laughing, until they finally began to calm down. Elisabeth began to look Melody deep in the eyes and then told her what she hadn't said once since the two of them arrived at her house.

- Mel I love you, and I always will. You are my little girl and in my eyes you will always continue to be that. However I know that I need to let you go and give you into the hands of Jack. Even though I never was your mother, I will always love you like daughter.

Melody was silence for a second, then a tear began to roll down her cheek.

- What are you talking about! You ARE my mother, you always have been! And you will never have to let go of me!! I love you just as much and nothing will change that!! So stop saying such stupid things!

More and more tears began to roll down Melody's face, then Elisabeth realized that she herself began to cry. She was so happy, yet sad at the same time. Once again she hugged Melody as tightly as she could and Melody returned the hug while both of them were sobbing.

That's right, I love Melody Harm, no, I love my daughter more than everything else. Maybe I need to stop... No, it is alright, everything will work out in the end. It will be alright, I will just have to trust him with this. Please, it just needs to work out, it has to...

She was so happy to be called a mother by Melody that she cried. But at the same time she cried out of sadness, but she kept this to herself. She just wanted to cherish this moment of a mother and a daughter hugging for just a tad bit longer.

- It will be fine, you will see...
