Chapter II

"How can I win the league with these losers?" I thought to myself. I walked outside the stadium went straight to my car. Then a kid approached me.

"Ricardo," he said. "Can I have your autograph?"

"Get away from me!" I yelled back.

The little boy was scared and ran away. I sighed. What a waste of time.

I was just about to get in the car when I heard a familiar voice from behind. "Hey, Ricardo!"

It was Marcos. He was walking toward me.

"What do you want?" I asked him.

"Nothing," he answered. "Just wanted to say good luck in the next game." He said with a look as if he was sincerely hoping for my victory. He was always like this. He pretended to be friendly and trampled on my pride mercilessly. He probably already knew that even if my team won the next game, I wouldn't be able to win the Liga.

"Get lost, you bastard," I said. "Or I'll kick your ass."

I clenched my fists.

"That's what I like about you," he laughed. "Always so full of spirit. You know, I really respect you."

I couldn't stand the bullshit he was talking anymore. Respect? Me? Well, I'll show you respect, you son of a bitch.

"You fucking..."

I lunged at him. I didn't care any longer, I had had enough. I grabbed him by the collar, lifted him up, and started hitting him on the face.

He fell on the ground. I kicked him several times on his stomach, and then I punched him in the face.

"You fucking...you fucking..."

"Stop it!" He cried. "Why are you doing this? We are friends, aren't we?"

"Friends?" I screamed. "You call this friendship? How dare you talk to me like this!"

I grabbed his shirt and pulled him up. I was shaking with rage.

"I'm sorry," he said. "I was wrong. Please forgive me."

"Forgive you?" I shouted. "You think I'll ever forgive you?"

"Please, Ricardo," he begged. "I promise I won't bother you again."

"Yeah, sure," I said, with a sneer. Then I grabbed his head and slammed it against the ground.

"Oh, please," he groaned. "I'm begging you, stop. Don't do this, Ricardo. Please!"

I was so mad, I couldn't control myself. I kept kicking him until he stopped moving. I stood up and wiped the sweat off my forehead.

There was a long silence. The only sound was the wind blowing through the trees.

I had just killed my rival.
