In Front of The House

Barry tells Danny and Elaine what he wants to do about the new threat in front of them. But basically, he only said that to Elaine. Danny was assigned to look after a girl who was scared inside the house.

Before that, he picked up the sword that was dropped by one of his attackers earlier.

"I can help you," Danny said.

"Of course, you can help me by guarding the girl and shooting from a distance. You can use your skills, right?" Barry replied.

Hearing that, Danny looked anxious. "I still don't know how to use this power."

"It's pretty easy. I'm sure you can do it. Now, you have to start doing your part. Come on!" Barry said.

The sound of monsters and zombies approaching them became louder and louder. Danny, who knew that he couldn't waste time there, immediately ran to the second floor where the girl was waiting.

"You ready?" Barry asked Elaine. When he turned his head, Barry saw that Elaine's face looked scared.

However, soon that expression changed to one of determination. It was as if there was a new fire rising from within her heart.

"Yes," Elaine answered his question in a cool and calm voice.

Whatever happened to her that awakened her resolve, Barry was grateful that it awakened at the right time.

"Let's go!"

Barry ran towards the horde of enemies in front of him. He held the sword in his hand tightly. Now that he had this sword he felt much more confident than holding a gun.

His Level has also gotten higher. Even though he felt a little hesitant about fighting this many enemies now there was nothing he could do. Barry chooses to believe in his own strength for now.

After all, there was Elaine behind him. So he doesn't fight alone.

*BLAARRR!*

A lightning bolt from Elaine shot past him. As soon as it arrived at its target, the lightning bolt immediately spread and hit two other targets next to it.

Elaine's lightning bolt doesn't kill them immediately and just knocks them to the ground. But because of that the other zombies and monsters behind them also fell and stumbled.

Barry uses his Gravity Manipulation, dashes toward one of the Normal zombies then cuts off its head. Then he kicked off the ground and floated before the claws of the other zombies touched him.

Up here, nothing can touch him.

'Fortunately, I still haven't seen any monsters that can fly.'

"KHUAAAKH!"

However, as if replying to his jinx over his own fate, Barry heard a screeching voice from in front of him. When Barry looked up he saw a giant bird with a wingspan of four meters from one end to the other charging toward him.

'Uh-oh.'

The giant bird snatched him and carried him higher into the sky. Its beak opened and Barry could see rows of teeth that looked like human teeth inside it. However, those teeth look messy, as if they were stuck carelessly inside the beak. Very disturbing.

The bird starts pecking at Barry. But, Barry was able to block the beak with his new sword. Luckily the bird wasn't smart enough to snatch him with both hands attached to his body so he could still attack freely.

After deflecting the beak, Barry stabbed the giant bird's body, causing blood to flow down his face. The bird also made a screeching sound of pain.

Barry then manipulates gravity again to pull his body down. The bird, which was already injured, couldn't fight back when he did that and was finally pulled down.

Barry proceeds to land another attack on it. After several stabs and slashes, the giant bird finally died.

'The amount of exp I got is very small. And because there's no fixed amount that I get for killing a monster or zombies, I can't gauge how much more I have to kill.'

Barry shot down at high speed with the giant bird's corpse. He saw Elaine alone fighting all the enemies with a look of panic and fear.

She continues to use her Lightning Manipulation intensely and without precise control. However, with that many targets crowding into one, she doesn't need much effort to get her attacks connected.

*BANG!*

*BANG!*

*BANG!*

Apart from that, Danny's shot from the second floor also helped him. The ex-military landed each of his shots accurately. However, he still hasn't killed any of the zombies or monsters.

'Are firearms starting to not work on transformed creatures?' Barry thought as he continued flying downwards.

Then, he pressed the matter to the back of his head and focused his mind on fighting now.

*BOOM!*

Barry landed in the middle of the horde while stabbing his sword into the head of one of the zombies and then killing it. He then spun around, slashing the sword while activating his Enhance Strength skill. Killing another three enemies.

After that, Barry again used his Gravity Manipulation to fly to avoid their attacks.

He took the time to look at his Magic Power. Seeing that his Magic Power still had quite a lot left, he continued his attacks like before. Falling, slashing, then flying up again.

About a minute later, the number of zombies and monsters was only half of its original amount.

Barry gets a decent amount of experience. And because his Magic Power was starting to be depleted he retreated backwards.

"How's your Magic Power?" Barry asked.

"I'm almost out," Elaine replied. "There are still a lot of them left. What should we do?"

Elaine fires a lightning bolt again and kills two zombies.

"We retreat inside. Inside we can have more hiding places."

Elaine nodded. They entered the house, locked the door, and prepared to find a place to hide first.

However, the girl shouted from the second floor.

"Are you running out of Magic Power?"

Barry looked up and answered. "Yes!"

"I have something that can help you!"

Elaine turned to Barry because she didn't understand. Then he saw Barry's grinning face.

"I'm coming!" Barry said.
