A House With Weird Smell

The blade of the sword stopped a few centimeters from his neck. Barry felt as if his heart was going to jump out of its place. If he hadn't prepared his Gravity Manipulation earlier, his head would have flown and fallen to the floor by now.

Barry turned his head and saw the face of a man who was as shocked as he was. Then he stretched his hand sideways sending the man flying until he hit the wall behind him hard.

Barry then took his gun from its holster and shot.

*BANG!*

*BANG!*

*BANG!*

Bullets piercing the man. After using the gun several times, Barry has become much more accustomed to using it. His accuracy also increased.

"Motherfucker!"

Another man rushed toward him while raising a metal bat, but a lightning bolt hit him. The man convulsed with electricity and fell to the floor.

Barry turned, nodding towards Elaine who was standing by the door.

Without saying anything Barry went deeper and let Elaine deal with the man on the floor.

Now, after that, everyone in this house will definitely be alerted to their arrival. Barry could hear the sound of feet stomping on the floor and screams.

They are ready to unleash their attack together.

The shot from the handgun on the second floor was aimed at him. But his gravity shield around his body prevents all bullets from reaching him.

Barry then flies towards them.

*BANG!*

He shot one of them in the head. Then fly again in the other direction.

They could no longer maintain their composure when they saw Barry's flying figure. It was as if they were seeing a supernatural creature targeting them.

One by one those men are down. Barry used up all the bullets in his magazine to clean up the men on the second floor.

He reloaded and looked down. Elaine has also finished killing two men.

Barry then picked up their skill crystals and put them in his pouch. After that, he walked deeper exploring the house following the origin of the weird smell.

'I hope it's not something poisonous.'

He finally arrived at a room with a slightly open door. It was in that room that this strange smell came from.

He could also hear moaning and sighing sounds that were no less strange. As if anyone in here is high on something that gives them extraordinary pleasure.

Barry readied his gun and pushed open the door. What he saw made him make a deep frown, a mixture of disgust and confusion.

In the room, there were six people. Three women and three men. They were all naked and scattered around on the floor, chairs, couch, and table.

From their noses and mouths, a kind of thin pink smoke came out.

'Shit...'

Barry stepped back because he felt that if he went in there he would be affected by whatever they were consuming.

He heard a gasp from next to him and turned his head. Then he saw a petite girl with dark bags under her eyes frowning at him.

In the girl's hand was a jar containing a thick pink liquid.

"W-Who are you?" the girl asked with a trembling voice.

"I came to raid this house," Barry said straight to the point. "Are you the girl who can make that potion?"

The girl was still trying to wrap her mind around this situation. Her eyes wandered around to see if there was anyone else around. If they were there, then those men would definitely come here and start attacking the man in front of her.

But they are not coming. They'll definitely know he's coming. Yet, nothing happened. 

The girl was mixing her potion to give to the people in the room. She has to give it to them again every hour to keep them high so they don't abuse her.

"Did you... Did you kill the men on guards?" the girl asked.

"Yes. You don't see anyone around here anymore, do you?" Barry replied.

When he looked at her more closely, he could see that there were several bruises on her arms and legs.

"What did they do to you?" Barry asked.

The girl bit her lips.

"Don't worry. They're dead. We should get out of here. Now."

"B-But... Where should we go?" the girl asked.

"I have a safe place I want to go," Barry said. "You can come if you want."

Barry could clearly see the fear in her eyes. He doesn't know how long she's been abused, but it seems like it was a lot longer before the apocalypse happened.

"How did you know about this place?" the girl asked.

"There were six people who attacked me last night. So I killed them and they told me about this house."

The girl still looked restless. Barry doesn't blame her. It must have been hard to survive this long.

Maybe she doesn't have any other place to live so she follows these people because only they can offer protection. Either before the world falls to the apocalypse or after.

The girl stared inside for a few moments. And then she sighed.

"I... I don't know..."

Barry also found it difficult. 'How should I persuade her?'

"BARRY!"

Elaine's shouting was heard from outside. She ran inside with a panicked face.

"There's a horde of zombies and monsters heading this way!"

"What?!"

The girl was shocked and her face paled.

"You'd better hide first. I'll take care of this," Barry said.

Barry then flew towards Elaine then they ran outside.

What Elaine said was right. There are around a dozen zombies and mutated animals that have turned into monsters heading here.

"Maybe this smell attracts their attention," Elaine said.

"Maybe. But there's no point in thinking about the cause now. Danny!" Barry said.

Danny ran towards him with a scared face.

Then, Barry started to explain his plan for this threat.
