I Farm Demons : Unholy Necromancer In the Apocalypse

In a post-apocalyptic world ravaged by war with demonic forces, civilization as it once existed is all but gone.  In its place, a new order had emerged, with humans developing magical abilities as each generation passed.  To ensure the survival of their species, society had been divided into Circles, with each member guaranteed a specific job once they reached the age of eighteen. Xylon Sinclair was an orphan with a limited affinity for magic, and he had been reincarnated as a punishment for his past deeds.  In a former life, he was Zephyr, a powerful demon who served the mighty Balthyrov, the Lord of Demons, until he became a perceived threat. He got killed mercilessly and got forced to reincarnate as a fragile human being as a punishment. Upon reaching the age of eighteen, Xylon was told that he will become a Soul Keeper, a role that he knew nothing about. Despite his confusion, he had no choice but to accept this position.  However, rather than following the status quo, Xylon experimented with the system, using his formal knowledge about the demon realm to resurrect demons from thousands of years ago.  What had started as a mere curiosity soon turned into an obsession for Xylon.  He was fascinated by the power that he could wield by bringing the ancient demons back from the dead.  It was as if he had discovered a new realm of possibilities that he had never imagined before. And then, he started to dream bigger... Xylon Sinclair wanted to rule over both realms, human and demon realm... //////////////// For those who wanted to contact me, here is my discord : Yoonaas#3976 p.s: the cover is purely mine , and it is made solely for this webnovel, it shows Zephyr. Soul keeper

The atmosphere in the room grew tense as Teacher John's words sank in. Xylon kept thinking  on possibilities as he tried to piece together what this mysterious job could be. The fact that it had not been announced before and that he was the only one being considered made him feel bothered.

As Teacher John spoke, Xylon's frustration grew with each passing second. He needed answers, and he needed them now. He couldn't let this opportunity pass him by, but he also couldn't walk blindly into something he knew nothing about.

"What job?" Xylon demanded, his voice rising. "How come all the other jobs were announced, but not mine? And why am I the only one being considered for it?"

Xylon's outburst silenced the room as the other students looked on in shock. But he didn't care. He had a hunch that this job was not something to be taken lightly, and he needed to know more.

Teacher John regarded him coolly for a moment before responding. "The details of your job will be given to you in due time, Xylon. For now, I suggest you trust in the judgment of the institution and focus on your work."

But Xylon was not satisfied with this answer. He knew he needed to find out more about this job, and he was willing to do whatever it took to get the information he needed.

Xylon felt his anger boil inside him as Teacher John spoke, his words cutting deep. He had been waiting for this day, hoping for a chance to leave the school and explore the world beyond, but now it seemed that hope was fading away.

"You failed all of your tests," John continued, his voice stern. "Your powers are low, and your teamwork is non-existent. You have shown no skills for battle, creation, or healing."

He had always known that he wasn't the strongest or the most talented, but to hear it spoken so plainly was still a bitter pill to swallow.

"But," John's voice cut through his thoughts, "there is a position that requires nothing but a few magic powers and patience."

Xylon's head snapped up, his anger and frustration momentarily forgotten. A position that required only a few magic powers and patience? What could it be?

"What is the position?" Xylon asked, his voice betraying his curiosity.

"It is a position that has not been opened for the past fifteen years," John said, his tone serious. "And it is one of great importance to our community."

Xylon's mind raced as he tried to make sense of what was happening. The words of Teacher John echoed in his head, and he couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off.

"Importance? I don't think so," Xylon muttered under his breath, anger and frustration building up inside him. "If it was important, it wouldn't have been handed to me. There is more to it, I am sure of it."

He glared at Teacher John, who was watching him with a calm expression. Xylon could tell that the man was holding back information, and it made him sick to his stomach. He felt like he was being manipulated, like a pawn in some twisted game.

"He is hiding something," Xylon thought to himself, clenching his fists in frustration. "He is hiding the most important thing from me."

" You are going to be a soul keeper, " Teacher John stated .

A few kids looked at each other, apparently they knew about that title .

" And , you don't need a circle , you are the only one , you are the only soul keeper in the entire society "

The words hit Xylon like a ton of bricks. Soul keeper? He had never heard of such a position before. The silence that followed was deafening. Xylon could feel the weight of everyone's gaze on him, but he didn't care .

"Tell me what does a soul keeper do?" he asked.

Teacher John gave him a solemn look. "It is a position of great responsibility," he said. "As the soul keeper, it will be your duty to guide the souls of the departed to their final resting place. You will be responsible also for the reincarnation with divine holy powers, it is a avery important job to the people of Havag "

Xylon's voice quivered with frustration as he spoke to Teacher John, "You said I am weak...You technically said that I am good for nothing, yet you assigned me such a sensitive job."

The air was thick with tension as Teacher John looked at the headmaster, then back at the other students, and said simply, "And now I wish you all good luck."

Xylon couldn't shake the feeling that something was amiss. Teacher John was clearly withholding information, but he had shut down any attempts at questioning.

As the other students formed groups and eagerly made their way to their new circles, Xylon stood alone in the center of the arena, lost in thought.

Xylon's mind was racing as he tried to process the news of his new role. "A soul keeper, shiit, this is just so terrible " he muttered under his breath.

He looked around at the other students who had received their circle assignments and felt a pang of frustration

"I didn't even get a circle like the others," he thought bitterly. "He said that I am the only one who got this job and there is no one there other than me." Xylon's frustration and confusion were palpable, and he couldn't help but feel like he was being punished for something he didn't understand.

"This is getting into my nerves," he continued to himself, his voice growing louder. "Is there really something like this or they are just messing with me "

" Make sure the dead won't escape from you, you are that useless , Xylon Sinclair, I really don't understand why would they give you such a job, ah , make sure not to play with the souls when you are bored ...you know what I mean  " Deric said to him sarcastically as he walked by him .
