My First Love

"Actually I lied, there is no trouble in the office, the truth is I came here for my personal reasons."

"What?" Jack was surprised to hear this as Steve's father already told Jack that there is some serious issue going on in the Seattle branch for which he is sending his son over to personally look into the case.

"Yeah, the reason I came here is because I found out my high school friend works in this office and I wanted to meet her again."

While talking to Jack, Steve took a notepad lying on the table and he took out a pen from his suit jacket and wrote something on the notepad and showed it to Jack.

'Please act along with whatever I am saying, your office is bugged I'll explain everything later'

Jack read it and decided to act along with Steve, "Oh, good you found your friend."

"To tell you the truth, Erica was my first love and I am hoping to be with her" Steve winked at Jack who nodded implying he understands.

"Oh is that so?"

"Yes, last night I met with her and I am planning to confess my love to her today, hoping for some good news" Steve sounded genuinely happy and Jack got the meaning of his words, that last night he hinted about whatever it is to Erica and he trusts her and he is hoping this plan of his works.

"I am happy for you"

"Thank you Jack"

"So, any plans for today?" Steve asked him.

"Yes, I am planning to take Erica for lunch to spend some more time with her." Which meant today he will be telling her the truth which even Jack is unaware of.

"Shouldn't you take her out for dinner and do that?"

"No, Erica is not like other women, lunch would be the right time."

"Okay then, All the best Steve"

Steve then wrote another note and showed it to Jack.

"Thanks Jack"

Steve then took his leave and Jack read the new note he left, 'Find a way to meet us at Starlight restaurant at 1 PM (be secretive, someone might be following you), burn these two notes after I leave.'

Steve then sent a message to Erica, "Meet me at Valen restaurant, 1 PM."

Erica understood it has got something to do with the important case Steve mentioned to her last night so at 12:30 PM she went to the parking lot and suddenly Steve's car stopped in front of her startling her.

"Sorry to scare you like this, let's go to the restaurant together" He suggested and Erica sat in the car.

"Is it about..." Erica wanted to ask him if it was about the case he mentioned last night but Steve quickly interrupted her.
