When Revenge Hits

Good thing about being a cop is that you can use your uniform to get into a concert, pretending to be there to keep the peace but all you want is to attend it. It was the same for Daniel as he was supposed to be home after his shift but he was in front of the barricade listening to a popstar entertaining the Gotham crowd. She had the bright idea to come to this city and perform so that she can spread the message that Gotham is still lively. A mistake according to Daniel for he was sure a villian would attack, but that wasn't a problem to human Daniel. Human Daniel was here to have fun.

Third song in and the singer got tired so she went to take a break. Daniel and the other officers started patrolling around in order to keep the peace and he got plenty of action that night. From two teens going at it in the car park and six hipsters smoking weed in a van to a middle aged man making out with a teenage girl. Apparently, she initiated this before he could ask her age and even he would have been caught for she looked twenty something with how she had developed. But, it was still a crime so as he was slapping the cuffs on the poor guy, they both heard gunshots making Daniel look at the direction it came from.

"Of course!" Daniel sighed when he saw a man dragging the popstar out of her trailer, gun in hand. He was just a mob character but every person with a gun is dangerous to everyone around them so he armed himself, secretly slipping the cuffs off the middle aged man and going after the guy.

"You there, police! Let her go and get on your knees!" Daniel shouted at him. The man was surprised that he turned around, aiming his gun at Daniel then started panicking.

"No, no, no! Let me go, man, or I will shoot her brains out," the man whined, making Daniel frown. He was surprised by the attitude of the man for he seemed surprised to be caught! He just fired his gun, how does he not expect to be caught?

"Listen, man, this will not end how you think it will. The whole park is surrounded by police and your shot just alerted all of them to your location. If you come quietly this will be over quickly but if you resist, some of us have pent up anger and severe anger management issues so you will be worse for wear before you are put in cuffs. Choose one," Daniel advised him.

"I have waited for her to come to Gotham for a whole week! Do you know how hard it is to wait for someone you love but doesn't know who you are to arrive and notice you? But all she did was just nod at me as if I am just another plebian in the crowd. I am her biggest fan! My room is filled with her shrine, the air I breath I breath to glorify her! I send her letters every single day just to show her how much I love her, letters with me picture! MY PICTURE!! Yet all she has to say to me is just a nod! A fucking nod!" the man furiously yelled, his grip on her throat tightening.

"Listen, I don't care about all that. All I see is a man who is attempting kidnap and that's what the court will charge you with. Don't make this worse and let your charges stack," Daniel advised the man who was silent for a while. He then looked at the panicking popstar then at Daniel, tears running down his cheeks.

"I fucking love her, man. She is my everything! I don't think I can live without her," the man said, tears streaming down his cheeks.

"You're a man, there's plenty of many things to live for. Sports, bear, a good magazine collection under your bed, your family? What kind of man just gives up when a woman rejects him? We are not them, we do not fragile egos.We man up and set our eyes to another booty. Man up and look for others. I'm sure there are more fish in the sea," Daniel told him. The man was taken back by those words, which surprised Daniel for he was sleeping bullshit so that another officer would sneak up on the man. Before he realised it, he was on the ground, a knee on his back pinning him to the ground and his hands forcefully been handcuffed from behind.

"Good job, Hunt. Never knew you were a motivational speaker," the officer laughed.

"You should hear the speech I had for kids," Daniel laughed as he bagged the gun. He then turned to the crying man. "This was very stupid, you know that, right?"

"It was the only way to get her out of here," the man continued crying, making Daniel and the other cop frown.

"What do you mean get her out of here? Is something going down tonight?" the officer asked. In Gotham, every subtle hint to something violent is met with seriousness.

"I heard them taking, Don Falcon and the Penguin. They wanted to get back at the new vigilante for killing Victor Zsasz," the man answered. Daniel frowned when he heard that then looked at the audience with apprehension.

"How are they going to..." He did not get to finish those words when an two explosions went off, the shockwave sending all four of them flying away. A minute of disorientation, Daniel got back up, the ringing in his ears subsiding slowly. He looked at the location of the audience but what he saw made him burn in anger. Everyone was dead, either blown to pieces, burnt to a crisp of the shrapnel from the explosion killing them. All in all, the four of them were the only ones still alive and the three were hurt. If it wasn't for his increased durability, Daniel was sure he would be among the three.

"Don Falcon, Penguin, you just signed your fucking death warranty!" he swore under his breath.

Half an hour later the first responders arrived which was pretty late. They started cleaning up the place, the police making the boundary with tape and keeping reporters away. The three injured were taken to the hospital and Daniel was spotted by Gordon who frowned and came over.

"You seem to be everywhere there's crime these days, officer Hunt," Gordon said. Daniel just glared at him.

"Are you saying I am not supposed to do my job because you think I am a criminal? Is that what you are saying detective?" Daniel aggressively asked, for the Ghost Rider wanted out and it was getting angry with each passing second, making his mood progressively bad.

"No. But you seem to be..."

"Does that mean you committed the murders just because you investigate them? I thought you were a detective, not a retard. If you have something smart to say to me, you know where to find me," Daniel said and walked away. Gordon frowned when he saw him walk away then looked back at the explosion site.

"What were the four of you doing all the way out here?" he asked himself.

Daniel got to his house, put his Ghost Rider clothes and went to his alley where he summoned his ride. For some reason, the flames on his skull and car had become crimson red as if reflecting the anger in him. With a demonic howl, he set off towards Don Falcon's house. He was out for blood and nothing was going to stop him.

The police were too occupied with the explosion incident they didn't pay him any mind and if they would, they couldn't catch up to him. Daniel reached the house and he smashed through the front gate like it was made of paper and not steel. He then got out of the car armed with his shot gun made of hell fire, expecting to be received with hails of bullets but there was no such welcoming committee. So, he headed to the front door, kicked it in and got in. He saw noone but he still pressed on, checking every room from the basement t the attic.

He then found a secret door which he just ripped right out and got into the hallway. He reached the room it was going to but nobody was there except the screen was pushed with the image of Don Falcon. He pressed play and if he could show anger, his face could be distorted by the emotion.

"Flaming Skull, I just have to tell you that you are too late. Me and my family have moved already and where we are is in the safest city we could be in Metropolis. We knew you would come after us after what we did and you have every justification to do so. Only, in Metropolis, it is protected by an all powerful alien whose morals will stop you from killing us. It is a low blow but it is what we could come up with the shortest. We will turn ourselves in when we arrive so you don't have to worry about us been punished. But consider this a warning from the Light, we do not like it when our plans are disrupted. See you never, love..." Daniel punched the screen, making the whole building crumble.

"Even if you hide in the depths of hell, I will overthrow Lucifer to get to your soul. Nobody escapes MY Justice!" Daniel howled, releasing a demonic screech after that the whole of Gotham heard, making everyone of them, even the famous Batman, have their souls quiver. That was a screech of something so primordial their souls could not escape from, even with their immortality.

Don Falcon looked at his sleeping daughter lovingly then looked behind. What he had done with Penguin had just earned him a hunting ticket, only he was the prey. They had discussed about the Flaming Skull with Penguin and they came to a conclusion that he was unstoppable by any Earthly means so the only way to stop him was by using unearthly means. That's where Superman came in.

They had talked with Lex Luther and he assured them that the blue scout boy was not the type to dish out his own justice, no matter the crime. Besides, he would be able to stop the Flaming Skull, he had seen him lift a whole building like it was nothing. Falcon knew his daughter would be hunted too so he wanted to make a deal with this Superman. He would turn himself in, confess his crimes and in exchange, he has to protect his daughter and himself from the Flaming Skull. The where about of Penguin was not his concern, as long as the job was done and his friend avenged, he had not qualms. The Light could not protect him because he was just a minor character but Penguin was one of their capital lenders so he was an investment to be protected. Suddenly, he felt his whole body shiver, goosebumps appeared all over his body, making him turn to the direction of Gotham.

"What was that?" he asked himself, his body already wet with sweat. Even his daughter was awake and she appeared to have experienced the same thing.
