I am Rimuru Tempest(Old Version. Rewrite is out.)

The first few chapters are a bit rough since I wasn't sure what I wanted the story to be like. And the story is a bit rushed until chapter 20-25ish since I wanted to get to the point after the kids get their spirits. After that, the story breaks from canon and slows down the pacing. Hopefully, you will give the story a chance. The joke at the beginning with sage is not indicative of how the story will progress, I just thought it would be funny at the time. ... You already know how it is. Someone gets reincarnated as Rimuru and decides that he wants to have a new life with a kingdom, a harem, and strong skills. I am a first-time writer so if you have any tips let me know. It's obvious but I don't own tensura nor its characters and the picture for the fanfic is not my art. If you are the artist of it let me know and I'll change it or add your name I just found the pic on google and wasn't sure who the artist was. I'll try to update regularly but I do have a full-time job so I probably can't do it daily.

Vester's laboratory.

(3rd Pov)

Vester hadn't had a proper night of sleep ever since he moved to Tempest. But in truth it was all his fault, he just didn't want to miss out on everything that would happen. For some reason, the city he had moved to seemed to finish advancements in a matter of time. Well, that reason actually had a name. It was a small blue orb in a slime container that was in the main labs. This invention has been named a Timuru.

Vester had no real good answer as to how this was created but it seemed to have a way to bring insights and guidance like no other. All you had to do was ask for assistance and it would answer you immediately.

And while Timuru was the biggest helper, it didn't mean that he had no other helpers. The main laboratory had been placed on one of the floors of the Labyrinth. And inside of it, only those who had special permissions could be brought in.

There were plenty of monsters that spent most of their time on this floor. From hobgoblins to kijin, from animal folk to beastkin, from dwarves to vampires. The lab had a bit of everything. And they all had gone through special training provided by Rimuru himself. While it wasn't enforced to take it, it would be foolish to decline.

The special training was hell for those who didn't have strong mental endurance, as it forced them to endure various mental attacks and placed them in difficult situations that required them to only use their mental strength. The results though were more than worth it. Most of the people in the room had obtained at least one of the following skills.

-Thought acceleration.

-Parallel processing.

-Analysis.

-All of creation.

The last one was the hardest to obtain, but it allowed one to understand any non-concealed phenomenon. Depending on the things the user understands and the information the user knows about, additional information can be inferred. In other words, the user needs to see it (the phenomenon) at least once.

Vester shuddered after remembering the training but he nodded his head wisely after remembering the skills he got.

Vester began to reminisce about the time he had spent here and everything he had been working on.

They had created a new space spell formation that allowed for safer use of transportation magic. This magic circle was incredibly stable and would allow many people to use it without problem consecutively, no matter if they had weak bodies that would be especially affected by a strong surge of magicules.

Some of these formations had been placed on Tempest's main building, on Blummund's adventurer's guild, on Gazel's castle, on Eurazania, on Jistav, on Falmuth, and four more were on the work. Milim's forgotten dragon city, Sorcerer's Dynasty Sarion, the Harpy Kingdom Fulbrosia, and the main office of the adventurer's guild were the four that were going to receive the transport spell formation.

At the moment you needed special permission to be able to use them so normal citizens from those countries were excluded. But some consideration was being made as to whether another gate should be made for regular use.

While Rimuru was the one who had installed this one, Vester was also aware of the magic circuit formation under the streets of Tempest. It was a work of art in his eyes, a massive defensive formation capable of handling an incredible amount of damage. And there was also a massive space formation that could transport every single person in tempest instantly and without making space unstable, leaving no trace of its usage. Many more formations were in progress at the moment but they were of lower priority than the two that were already placed.

They had also worked in a speaker system all throughout Tempest that would allow one person to effortlessly transport a message to any required location. It all was connected so the speaker would only work as long as it remained in place, but since they were quite sturdy it would take a lot of effort to actually damage them.

Some screens had been developed but they had yet to be released to the public. They were capable of displaying an image through large distances by reflecting what a "camera" could see. Some of them had been placed in special locations in the Labyrinth and there were some other teams working on creating a birds-eye view of the world. Something that was going to be called a satellite, however, was still in its early progress of development and it would take a long time to complete. Another thing that had been developed alongside the screens was a memory projector, that as the name stated was capable of projecting a memory placed in it.

The screens would be used more in the future for average citizens to enjoy but that was not until the project had been finished.

There was a problem with monsters and that was that they tended to release magicules subconsciously onto the air. This would normally not be a problem but, with so many gathered in one location, the magicule density had gotten to the point that non-monsters were starting to be affected by them and were getting sick.

A surprisingly simple solution for this problem had been discovered. All throughout the town were small devices that gathered the magicules in the air and brought them to underground batteries that could be used to power up the magic circuits. All of the excess magicules could be taken to other locations and were used for anything like helping the crops outside of the labyrinth grow better to being transported to places like smithies to assist in the creation of higher graded weapons without creating a strain on the one forging them. With the majority of the citizens being high-graded monsters the number of magicules gathered in one day was enough to keep everything running smoothly.

This technology had also been implemented on the roads that led to and from Tempest to keep them safe and illuminated at night. Magicule lamps were all along the roads that released an aura that made most monsters avoid them.

Vester remembered the day Kurobe had been brought in to assist in the creation of new metals that could be useful. And that day they had discovered how to produce new metals.

Mithril was an alloy created by combining magisteel with silver. Weapons made of mithril are particularly effective against undead monsters. And it also had slightly higher durability than Magisteel.

Orichalcum was a gold-colored alloy created by combining magisteel with gold. It is superior to magisteel in all aspects, including thermal properties, toughness, and magical properties. Equipment made of orichalcum is easily worthy of Legend grade.

Dimeritium was a strange metal that was extremely hard to create. It was made by forcibly removing and providing magicules to magisteel until the point the metal was left with just enough magicules to begin a small change. It would begin to absorb a small number of magicules. By repeating this process over and over you would be left with a metal that would hungrily consume any magicules around it. It took a surprisingly long amount of time to create the first batch even with Rimuru himself being the one managing the process. So only a few items had been made this time, like the sword Benimaru wields, but more of dimeritium was in the process of being created.

Ramantium was another metal that they had been able to create, yet it was so unstable that they had yet to finish creating a way to properly stabilize it. It was made by combining gold, steel, silver, and magisteel. It was practically a magicule superconductor, and that was what made it so hard to stabilize. It would begin to interact with any magicules near it and they would be drawn to it. Yet the metal would soon begin to crack and become an explosion hazard in minutes as the magicules inside of it would oversaturate it. Once this process happened the metal would for some reason become unable to smoothly use magicules from then on.

Vester wasn't aware of this but a special room had been recently created for when all of the demons Diablo gathered arrived so that they could receive bodies. The bodies were going to be created using a mixture of Origin: Creation, the knowledge on homunculus Rimuru had gotten from Erald's visit by analyzing him, and all of the knowledge gathered about how to create golems.

In fact, much more research was being done in secret. The investigation of how monsters were born from magicules like Charybdis or the other monsters born from Veldora's magicules in the labyrinth. The research of different types of weaponry, such as swords that had slots where orbs could be inserted that could affect the properties of the weapon. Like giving it the wind attribute by inserting a wind elemental orb into it. As well as the creation of different types of weaponry.

There were also teams whose sole purpose was researching the quality of life things. Such as how to improve waste management, how to better the current appliances that are common in Tempest, etc. They were also the ones in charge of improving the inventions that were already available, such as increasing the sound quality of the speakers.

Another form of communication was currently being built as well. While Timuru rings were available to members in high standing that allowed them to communicate from everywhere, it was not ideal to give these rings to other nations for communication purposes. Some prototypes were already available but the material cost of making them was so hard to obtain that they were not reliable to use yet.

Far away from the lab in the magic department, there were many people analyzing and creating new spells with the help of all of the information their Timuru had provided. Soon research into the ruins found in Jistav would be made and they would be able to gather all of the hidden magic that had been lost to the times.

The magic department had actually gathered a lot of new power and knowledge and they were all working together in order to understand how magic worked better. Another special training had been provided that had allowed them to learn more about magicules and how spells work. And, with Ramiris help, they were also able to begin to analyze and learn from the magic spirits used. In fact, several spirits had been provided with bodies and names by Rimuru and they were working together with the researchers.

If progress in the research of magic continued this way Tempest might end up taking the title of Sorcerer's Dynasty from Sarion. They had discovered many things and had developed many new ways to cast spells with multiple elements more efficiently and with a lower magicule cost. Many new interesting and useful spells were being created by the day and soon the researchers would start working on replicating the homunculus that Sarion kept so secretly. After all, Rimuru had a lot of time to learn how they worked when the envoys arrived.

Lastly was the newly built church of Tempest. The reason it was built was for those who were studying and learning holy magic to have a way to cast their spells yet many other uses were found for it.

The naming ceremony would be held in one of the churches where a Timuru would be the one to give them names. No longer would Rimuru have to personally think and give names to all of the monsters as Ciel would work on it in the background whenever the time came.

A church had also been built in Jistav and with Adalman and Shuna helping out a lot of knowledge and new uses for holy magic had been discovered. Adalman had gotten help from Beretta and had created a new magic, "Holy-demon reversal", which allowed him to cast holy spells once again even as an undead, but this time using the demonic attribute.

Adalman had been informed of Rimuru's visit to Jistav soon and was running all over the place making preparations to welcome him. He had gotten informed that Rimuru would be spending some time personally assisting him in increasing the strength of the defenders of Jistav.

Now, all that he had to do was wait for his god to visit.

...

If you got any suggestions for technology or things like what I wrote in this chapter let me know. Shout out to Lazy_NEET_Cat_UmU for the idea of getting names from a shrine/church. It makes sense to streamline the naming process with how many people still need to be named and will be named in the future.

This was a chapter I had been wanting to write for a while but I hadn't found a good place to put it, so I just placed it here. hopefully you liked learning more about what is going on in Tempest. See ya
