Chapter 6: First Grotto

Times has pass after Edward complete his first mission and he is swimming deeper into the ocean looking for a good location for his grotto.

While swimming, Edward had hunt few fish and he also encounter other sharks as well like reef, blacktip, spinner, sharpnose and reef sharks but usually the reef and sharpnose shark swim away from him but he still hunt them and all other sharks as well because of two reason.

First is because of a quest that is given to him by the system which he has to hunt any type predator creatures he encounter. The more he kill hunt those type of creatures, the more reward he will get once he click "done" on the quest but he only receive this quest once per week. Luckily he didn't encounter any bigger shark like Tiger shark, Hammerhead shark and Great White shark.

The second reason is because the sharks give more experience and evolution points than the normal fishes. It's not just the sharks. Any type of predator creatures he ate give more experience and evolution points than normal fishes.

Not just that, he also learning on how to be better while fighting his enemy. With each fight, his movements is getting much more smoother and faster. His reaction speed and perception is also improving to the point that he can see other sharks movements even though they were moving at their fastest speed and able to dodge them without much effort.

He is surprise on how much he is improving in a very fast manner and he think back then to his first fight. He can see how much flaw he has and he think that if he were to fight his previous self in the first fight, he is sure he can kill his previous self with not much effort.

Edward also feel weird on how fast he is improving so he turn to the system for an answer.

(System how did I improve so fast in just a few fight?)

[It's because of your race host. Megalodon is an apex predator, or top carnivore, in the marine environments it inhabited. They adapt, overcome and learn much faster then any other predator making them a fearsome creature to face with and does making them on top of the food chain.]

(Oh okay then. System where am I actually and do I have a map function?)

Edward is annoyed by the system keep the same thing so he just keep swimming deeper into the ocean until he feel some pressure around his body but it only make him feel uncomfortable and so he continue on.

The deeper he go, the stronger the pressure is to the point that it took him some effort for him to swim.

Edward stop going deeper and start to swim around, looking for a good location. He see new type of creatures like octopus, eel and catshark but he just ignore them and continue swimming.

Edward then swim toward a location where there is only rocks and there seem to be no coral reefs and no fish swim by it.

(This seem to be a good location. System I want the grotto to be place here.)

[I understand. Placing grotto, please wait.]

Infront of Edward eyes, he see rocks moving on it own which surprise him. A minute pass and all the rocks has move living a 10 meter length flat surface without any rock on and the next thing he see surprise him again. Edward see that the soils start to also move on it own and some soils start to float around. The soils is covering Edward sight so he swim away to see it from afar and luckily he did make decision because at his previous location, he see that rocks and soils moving around in a fast motion and seem to be moving in a coordinate, avoid hitting each other.

Edward was amaze by this and keep looking at the progress while swimming around it. After couple minutes, everything stop moving and drop to the ground and infront of Edward is a hole that has length of 10 meter and rocks around it.

Edward got a notification from the system.

[Placing Grotto complete.]

Edward swim toward the hole to see how deep it is and when he look into the hole, he see an underground passage that is make out of rocks.

Edward then go into the passage and swim along it until he see a light at the end of it and when he reach it, he is face with a huge spaces infront of him.

Edward was in awe but then he see a small ball of light floating around the spaces. He is curious about the small ball of light and so he swim toward one of it and try to touch it with his right fin.

He notice that it doesn't have any heat and only produce light. It also seem to be bouncy because he accidentally push the ball of light a bit to hard and it hit the wall of the grotto but it bounce back to him.

Edward was a bit surprise by this revelation but he ignore it for now because he suddenly got a notification from his system.

Edward is surprise when he read the notification that is on the screen and ask the system a question.

(System can you explain more about this 'achievement quest'.)

[It is similar to an achievement you can gain in a game you play in your previous life host. You can complete the achievement quest by completing a challenge or trigger specific type of event.]

(Oh okay then. System show me my stats.)

Edward only hunt few fishes and spend most of his time finding and hunting as many sharks as possible but he didn't get much and only get to hunt 2 spinner shark, 2 blacktip shark, 1 reef shark and 1 sharpnose shark. He only get to level up once but seeing the reward of the achievement quest make him excited.

Edward also notice his hunting quest but he feel lazy and seeing the time limit is going to end, he just give up on continue hunting and tap yes on both quest accepting reward.
