Chapter – 26 New Sword

On his way out of the forest, Max was sometimes using Dimensional Travel to get back faster as he doesn't want to hunt beasts anymore and wanted to increase his level of skill. It didn't take a long time for him to arrive at the starting point, seeing that the other horse was still there Max assumed that stranger was still hunting in the forest.

"He might be strong otherwise he wouldn't have come here to hunt alone." Max thought about the stranger and untied his horse to go back to the city. While on his way back, Max couldn't help but think about the strange beast. "As Lucas had told me beasts only eat other beasts or humans and with the exception of some rare plants but in this case, that beast was only eating the normal grass. Wait, is it something related to his unique ability? It's rare for a Basic-tier beast to have an ability, they usually develop their ability from the Advance-tier. First, let's get back to the city, I'll find out about it in the morning." Thinking about the possibility that the beast might have an ability, Max wanted to find out more about it.

Getting back to the city Max entered the inn, as usual, the owner was sitting behind the reception desk. Max had never seen the owner leave that place like he is always there but Max wasn't sure cause' the owner might have moved once or twice when he was not here. Greeting the owner Max headed back to his room, taking off his dirty clothes Max headed inside the bath to get fresh. After taking a ten minutes bath he come out of the bathroom and changed back into his other clothes. Before coming here Lucas had given Max some spare clothes but all of them are the same.

Max used the communication stone to order some food to his room, after finishing the food he laid down on his bed, staring at the ceiling he was thinking about the past days and what had happened to him after he was summoned here. "I think I'll be able to take down the Basic-tier beast on my own without worrying about the danger. If there's another way to increase my stats, it would be great." Max was talking to himself and an idea comes to his mind.

"Hey, system is there any way I can increase my stats without leveling up?" Max asked the system in his mind but there was no response from the system. Max was disappointed but didn't mind it cause' he knew that even though there was no way right now but, in the future, he can find a way himself.

"Before heading to the forest I'll get my new sword from Jack, Francis had said that it will be done by today. I wonder if that sword will have any special ability" thinking about the new sword that he is going to get today, the tiniest amount of sleep that he was feeling earlier had now disappeared but he tried to keep his close so he can fall asleep.

While Max was sleeping Jack finished his sword the sword had a light blue color, and it was 1 foot and 6 inches long with a width of 2 inches. This sword was a straight single-hand sword and the hilt that Jack attached to it had a bear mark on it after Max had left Lucas had told them that it was a crystal from a bear like a beast. Jack had done his best while making this sword, he wanted to give Max a well-crafted sword.

After getting up Max had directly rushed to Francis's shop to get his sword, he also wanted to go to the forest to find that type of beast again. Heading to Francis's shop Max was eager to see how his new sword will be. Taking large steps toward the shop Max was really hoping that if he could directly teleport there it would be best and he could teleport but not that far. After arriving at the shop Max hastily entered the shop to get his new sword.

The door opened and Max saw Jack was there this time even though it was quite early cause' the last time when Lucas and he had visited here in the morning Jack was not here but this time Jack was present. "Hey Jack, how have you been? I was looking for you yesterday but you weren't here so I handed the crystal to Francis for my sword. Is it ready?" Max was hastily speaking he didn't even let Jack reply to his first question.

"Yeah, kid I was working on your sword last night and had slept here, after knowing that you are with Francis's friend, I made sure that your sword will be of the best quality. Well, all of my crafts are of the best quality but still, I had worked a little extra for your sword." Jack was praising his work both of them were like kids one was excited about receiving his new toy and the other one wanted to show his new creativity.

Jack got inside one of the rooms and come back with the sword that he had crafted for Max. Seeing the sword in Jack's hand Max was getting excited to hold it in his own hands. After coming close to Max Jack handed the sword to Max, "Here this is the sword that I have made for you, this is an Advanced-tier sword. It was expected cause' you had left an Advanced-tier crystal. Hahaha" Jack was trying to make a joke but it didn't reach Max's ear at all cause' he was lost in the sword right now.

Max didn't know that weapons also provided stats, and while reading the system window in front of him Max was shocked and thought that he might have read it wrong or was hallucinating he read it again but it was the same as before. Getting out of this shock Max asked Jack about this, "Jack do Beast weapons increase our strength also? Cause I'm feeling a slight difference in my strength." Hearing Max Jack slightly nodded to Max's question.

"Great, so having a lot of weapons with me will also increase my stats, it's going to be great this way I can get these extra stats while also having a good weapon with me." Max was thinking of the possibilities that how much stats he can gain with other equipment that he can wield. Or what if it's an even Higher-tier Beast Crystal how many extra stats will he gain from it? Even though these stats were temporary it's going to help Max a lot.

"Did you not know that from Advance-tier weapons you can increase your strength, it was unfortunate that this weapon didn't gain the ability of the beast otherwise it would have been more powerful." Hearing this Max felt a little pain but he ignored it he was already happy with those two points of Endurance.

"Thank you, Jack, for this wonderful sword that you have crafted. How much is your fee for this work?" Praising the sword that Jack had crafted Max wanted to clear the pay for it and wanted to head out to the forest and wanted to test this sword out as soon as he can.

Seeing that Max was happy with the sword, Jack raised his closed hand towards Max and raised one finger out of it saying, "My fee for this sword is one Bronze coin." Hearing him Max was surprised that he only had to pay one coin for this sword. "Why are you asking for only one coin Jack? I can pay you more, Lucas had given me some money and I think it will be enough to pay your fees for this sword." Max wanted to pay the right price for Jack but for some reason. "No, it's not about money kid. I told you earlier that I like crafting and my fees always depend on who's the person and what is he asking me to make. If I don't like the person, I won't accept his request no matter how much is he paying and for you, I don't see anything bad about you."

"Pay me one coin and take the sword with you kid. And again, when you need a sword, I'll make another for you." Jack said while smiling and showing a thumb toward Max. Max didn't know what he should do in this situation so he simply did what Jack had asked him, he paid him a Single Bronze Coin as the crafting fee for the sword.

Taking the sword with him Max head out from Francis's shop after thanking Jack again for the sword. "My Attack stats improve my strength and power; Defense stats make my body tougher and stronger and as for my Endurance stats I think it's related to my Stamina. Now that I have two extra points in my Endurance, I won't get tired easily using Dimensional Travel."
