Chapter – 25 Beast That Eats Grass

Waking up from his sleep Max was feeling refreshed, he was somewhat exhausted from all the hunting and traveling they have done last night. "Time to head out in the forest now. Wait, before that, I should take bath, I'm stinking right now from the blood of those beasts." Max said to himself and left the bad to get fresh. After finishing his bath and after changing his clothes to a different one, Max walks out of his room.

Seeing that no one had still come back from Francis's shop, he left the inn leaving a message to the inn owner if Lucas asked about him. walking on the streets of the city, Max was feeling happy and the reason was very simple cause' he had leveled up and it was a very happy thing for him; gaining a level meant that he had become stronger than before and now he just wanted to see how will he fare against those same beasts that he fought last night, thinking about this Max footstep become faster to get to the forest quickly.

After walking for some time, Max reached the exit of the city. He rented a horse to travel at the entrance of the forest at first, he was thinking of using Dimensional Travel but dropped the idea after thinking what if he became tired even before fighting the beast it will be dangerous for him. Riding the horse alone Max was enjoying the view and the cool breeze that was going past his face and body. And without him even noticing he had reached the entrance.

Getting off the horse, Max realized something he had forgotten to bring something that he can use to tie the horse without that the horse might return back to the city, and then he will have to pay the owner of the horse for his loss. Thinking about what he could possibly do in this situation, Max heard the noise of another horse that had just arrived there. Seeing it was only a single horse and only one person was riding it. Max thought maybe this guy could help him.

"Excuse me, I had forgotten to bring a nail with me that I can use to tie my horse too, can I tie my horse with yours?" Max approached the stranger to ask for his help. After getting off his horse the stranger walked towards Max. "Yeah, sure," he said, when he had gotten closer Max was able to see his face clearly and this guy had a very thin face like someone had pressed his face from both sides to be like that. His body was normal only his face was different and with his light brown hair combed to one side he was looking a little funny but Max holds his laughter and didn't laugh at him.

"Is it your first time?" the stranger asked Max with a friendly smile on his face which was making his face weirder. "No, I was here last night with others but today I decided to come alone," Max told him that it wasn't his first time here. "Ahh, I see then don't get into any trouble friend, I'll be going first then" after finishing what he had to say the stranger walked into the forest leaving Max there.

"His face was funny but I'm thankful that he let me tie my horse together with his," Max said it to himself and after tying his horse Max also entered the forest, he took the same path that Lucas had taken last night. While walking Max was observing his surrounding very carefully, he didn't want to get ambushed by a beast here.

"Should I take another path from here?" after not finding any beast in the outer area of the forest Max decided to take a different path to get close to the middle area but he didn't want to get inside the middle area cause' he was still not sure if he can handle the beasts on its own, last time Lucas was with him so if anything had gone wrong Lucas would have stepped in to save him but today, he was on his own.

"Just be patience Max, one beast at a time don't be greedy." Max was trying his best to comfort himself to not get his greed of leveling up faster to get over him. While walking Max come across a beast, this beast was a different one with its small body of nearly two feet and had rock-like skin on its body the beast was looking like a rock. Max was able to see the beast from behind cause the beast was eating something on the other side. Max wasn't able to see clearly what thing was the beast eating, thus Max tried to get close to the beast while trying not to make the beast aware of his presence.

"Slowly, slowly, slowly, slowly…" Max was repeating this in his mind to not make any hasty move, after getting closer to the beast Max was only 10 feet or some distance away from the beast and the beast still hadn't sensed the beast making Max sure that the beast was only a Basic-tier beast. When Max sees that the beast was just eating grass, his curiosity ended and he used Dimensional Travel to directly appear behind the beast.

Instantly a crack appeared in front of him and he disappeared to appear behind the beast, Max had already taken out his sword before appearing behind the rock-like beast. Sensing that someone had appeared behind him the beast turned around to see and he saw Max with his sword that was coming towards the beast. Leaving his food, the beast tried to dodge it but it was too late as Max had appeared behind him in less than a second the beast was not able to react in time and was hit by Max's sword.

And with one hit the beast was killed like before, "I don't feel tired using Dimensional Travel like before and I feel a little bit stronger and faster than before, it's not a great leap in strength but it's better than before." Taking a mental note of his improvement Max get closer to the beast and sliced the beast with his sword to get the crystal out from the beast.

Leaving the dead body behind Max decided to roam around this area a bit more before he come across another beast same as before and it was also doing the same thing as the beast from before. It was also eating the grass around the tree and seeing that it was going to another easy kill Max again used the Dimensional Travel to appear behind the beast and kill it in one strike.

'With this speed, I'll level up again sooner than expected." Max thought about the future while continuing his hunt for the night. Walking inside the forest was a little scary sometimes, you don't know what will you come across if it's a Low-tier beast you're safe but if it's a High-tier beast you're doomed. Being very careful with his movements Max was trying his best to conceal himself but he wasn't an expert in this.

After walking for some time Max again come across the same beast from before and it was again eating the grass. "Does this beast only eat grass and do nothing." Max was confused seeing that every time he was coming across this beast it was only eating grass and now Max was curious about what was so special about this grass that they always eat. Again, with the same pattern, Max killed this beast too.

After taking out the crystal Max picked up some off the grass to check if it was anything special.

But seeing that the system window had described it as a common grass, Max wanted to know why these beasts are eating the grass. Max decided if he again come across this beast his going to observe what this beast will do after eating the grass.

The beast had gotten Max's curiosity now, and Max is not going to let it go until he found out the reason for eating grass. Max had slept till afternoon today and after waking up he had directly come here but now the sun was going down and he know staying inside the forest will be going to dangerous.

"I should head back, for now, I'll come again in the morning and at that time I'll definitely find out why these beasts eat grass" Max decided to come in the morning, for now, he started heading back by the same path that he had taken earlier.
