Chapter – 33 Hunting Partner

Max was shocked to see that after getting hit by the Space Ball the beast was not severely injured, the area where the ball had hit the beast and the beast was only damaged by half the actual damage. "Damn it, this beast got a thick skin. I just wish it's not a Rare-tier beast again otherwise it is going to be a tough fight again." Not wasting any time Max made his next move by disappearing from the sight of the beast and reappeared behind the beast, with another Space Ball in his hand, and hit the beast on its back.

Sensing the danger from behind the beast again dodged the attack by moving to the side, making Max miss the target and he ended up hitting the ground. After dodging the attack, the beast dashed towards Max and hit him on his abdomen with its hard head.

Getting hit by the beast Max was sent flying in the other direction by seven meters. Max stopped himself by stabbing his sword into the ground to stop the momentum of the hit. "I think it's going to be a good fight. Now that I know that you're not a Rare-tier beast." Max said that while smiling a bit in excitement toward the beast. Seeing how the beast attack had not taken too much health out of him, he was sure that the beast was an Advanced-tier beast but just a tough one.

Max started running towards the beast, seeing that the human was not heavily injured, and was getting back to him to fight again. The beast also started running towards the human to gain some speed for his next attack. Both of them were getting close to each other very fast and before they made the impact. Max disappeared from the front of the beast. Now that the beast had no target to hit and it was running at speed, so it was not able to stop itself or look around for Max for a second.

Max appeared at the location where the beast had just passed from and he threw the Space Ball towards the beast who wasn't able to look behind or change its direction to save himself from the attack. After throwing the attack Max again disappeared and reappeared in front of the beast two meters ahead with his sword in his hand. "It's time to see how tough you really are?" Max said that and slashed his sword toward the beast at the part where the beast got injured earlier.

The beast was confused about what should he do, there was an attack coming from the behind and the human was in front of him ready to attack. Both attacks hit the beast at the same time but still, the beast was not dead, it was still breathing even though it was heavily injured. "You really are very tough, I thought maybe this time I would have killed you with this attack of mine. Wait! Why I am even talking to you, it's not like you can understand me." Max said that while realizing how stupid he was and what if someone would have seen him trying to talk to a beast while fighting, they all would have laughed at him for a very long time.

The beast was taking its final breath, looking closely his breathing was getting heavier while it was still lying on the floor because of the damage Max had just done now. Going close to the half-dead beast, Max aimed his sword at the throat of the beast and killed it with a single strike.

"As I thought you were an Advance-tier beast, I'll give this crystal to Jack to see whether he can make an armor with this crystal for me or something else." Saying that, Max quickly set up the body of the dead beast as a bait for other beasts just like before, it was still daytime and Max had not gotten any serious injury thus he continued to grind for more Exp.

"How long is it going to take for another beast to show up now?" It's been more than an hour and no other beast had shown up yet and Max was losing his patience now as he was sitting there for way too long. "I should have come here with Lucas then I could have gone to the Middle area to hunt or should I go back to the entrance and join a random group to hunt? But trusting some strangers is not a good idea." Max was thinking of other ways, so he can go to the Middle area for hunting.

While Max was still occupied in his thoughts a hand from behind patted on his shoulder. Max was startled by the sudden approach of something and the scariest part was that he was not able to sense the presence of this guy. Max instantly jumped from his place and turn around while creating sufficient distance between himself and the stranger.

"Yo dude, it's me, Bob. I saw you from afar and come here to greet you but I think I might have scared you." Bob said while apologizing for his sudden approach. Max let his guard down seeing that it was Bob and greeted him.

"Hey, Bob. Sorry man I was waiting for the beast to show up and you suddenly came behind me and I wasn't even aware of that so that startled me." Max said while Bob again apologized for that.

"Did you kill that beast, Max?" Bob asked Max after recognizing the beast because of the beast's unique skin pattern. Bob was a bit surprised cause this beast was a tough one when it comes to endurance and Max was saying that he had killed the beast by himself, if Bob had to compare himself to Max when he was the same age as Max, he was not sure whether he will be able to defeat the same beast or not by himself.

"Kid you got great potential to become a great hunter, but if you continued to hunt alone the same thing can happen again like last time. Just take some precautions and go hunting in a group or with someone who had a lot of experience in it." Bob suggested Max, he didn't want a kid with this much potential to die this early. "Should I take him with me for hunting in the Middle area?" Bob thought but before Bob could ask him, Max said something.

"Bob, can I tag along with you to hunt?" Max asked which surprised Bob because he was just going to ask the same thing to him. With a huge smile on his face, he nodded excitedly. "Should we head to the Middle area then?" Max asked

"Yeah, we should not waste the precious time we had and with me around I can guarantee your safety in the Middle area. No matter which tier beast comes I will keep you safe, okay kid." Bob was pretty excited cause not a lot of people accompany him while he goes on a hunt but now, he had gotten a kid who was willing to go on a hunt with him. For Bob this was a great thing, he won't be feeling lonely now.

"Should we take the body of that beast with us or leave it here?" Max questioned as he doesn't wanted to leave the body of the beast behind this time which he got by some hardship but with Bob, he had to ask his opinion too as he was the experienced one.

"We can leave the beast's body here; I will get a fresh one on our way," Bob said while he looked at the surroundings to see if there are any beasts in hiding but there were none.

"Okay, then we should get going," Max said while he gets near Bob and both of them started heading inside the forest. Bob was keeping his smile on his face which was quite funny for Max but he controlled his laughter.

"Bob was able to kill the Rare-tier beast last time with a single strike, I Wonder how strong he is really? Is he stronger than Lucas? But Lucas was a Special Knight of the King and if Bob was strong like Lucas why is he not given a position in this kingdom similar like Lucas?" while walking Max was pondering over a lot of questions regarding Bob, he was getting distracted and he had forgotten to pay attention to his surroundings which Bob had noticed.

Bob threw a light slap at Max's arm to wake him up from the thoughts that he was having. "Kid, if you want to become a hunter in the future you should never get distracted in a Beast territory. It will cost you your life if you keep this habit of yours." Bob said.

"Sorry, I had something on my mind that's why I got distracted. It won't happen again." Max said while accepting his mistake and thought "He is right I shouldn't think about this kind of stuff right now and should only focus on the hunting". Max was not having any other thoughts in his mind after Bob's Warning.
