City Arrival

The blinding light subsided. A section of the forest was revealed to be destroyed.

Branches of trees have scattered, their trunks were in charred states. The center explosion has a small crater with an approximate diameter of about 5 meters.

Even though it was only a small section of the forest, no one can't deny that the force of the explosion was powerful enough to cause this scene.

Ethan arose from his spot with a slight rustle of debris. He taps his shoulder to clear away the dust.

He survives the explosion by casting the «Displacement» spell. His health points, however, were cleaved by thirds.

"...Scary as always."

He let out a wry chuckle as he scanned the aftermath but his expression was filled with delight.

After all, he was excited to use the thing he had thrown a moment ago.

It was called the Mana Bomb.

The name was quite cringed but it was the name given by the system. What's it made? It was of course made from mana!

That's was a lie.

The candy with an opal shape was made by Mana Gems.

By collecting at least 50 mana gems, an Artisan specializing in crafting magical items can create a Mana Bomb.

In his previous life, this thing was not discovered in the early stages of the game.

It was however the result of so much research.

A large guild incidentally collected 5,000 mana gems from raiding a labyrinth city.

Upon gathering all of it, the gems suddenly glow and start to merge.

The result was pretty surprising because all of those thousand gems vanished only to make one big Mana Bomb.

After discovering the details, the guild hurriedly closes the information about the mana bomb.

However, money was still powerful and loyalty was just a sham.

Several guild executives secretly disseminated the mana bomb's details in exchange for a large sum of credits.

The mana bomb then became a hot topic all over Utopia, but it quickly died down due to its absurd consumption.

The 5,000 mana gems were hard to gather even they can be obtained from dungeon monsters.

The market price has also skyrocketed, so only a handful of powerful guilds own 3 to 5 quantities of the said bomb.

Because of the prospect of mana bombs, others were compelled to conduct research driven by their greed to be successful in the game.

The result of those works leads to the discovery of multiple versions of mana bombs.

Some of it only needs 4000, some were 2000, others breakthrough to 500 consumption...and the least, not powerful of those variations was the 50-Mana Bomb that Ethan used.

Even then, the least powerful one could already cause this havoc.

Imagine how devastating it would be if a 5000-Mana Bomb was used. Erasing a city was an easy peasy task.

"In two years, no one can discover and create this thing aside from me."

Ethan cast a smile as he started to walk toward the crater.

Of course, he had no intention of committing genocide. What? He wasn't a certain war criminal rabbit doing it for fun... or is he?

Nonetheless, he cannot deny that he was very excited about using it for monsters, particularly boss types.

Arriving at the center, Ethan scooped the six items lying on the ground.

A quad Mana Gem that can be broken into four pieces, 1 Wolfcat Robe, 2x Claw Dagger, 1 Wolfcat Pelt, and two silver coins (200 coppers).

"Well, I can only wear this robe and sell these daggers and pelt."

He muttered while storing all the items and equipping the Wolfcat robe.

Even though he raid the dungeon on solo, his profit this time was not that big since he uses all the mana gems he collected so far instead of selling them.

Ethan summoned his stats and saw that he accumulated a considerable amount of exp by entering this dungeon.

Two hundred experience more and he'll reach level 5.

Anyhow, Ethan checks the most important passive he gained at the time he reached level 4.

[Witch Craft]

Rating: —

Type(s): Passive • Production

Description:

• Not considered a sub-profession. A talent that allows a Witch to create magical tools. A passive 10% success rate was integrated. 100% success rate guaranteed if and only if; the correct materials, correct procedure, and correct execution has been made.

—————————

This skill was passive to Witches making it a profession unique to others.

Professions like Elementalist and Warlock were pure mages. They were like glass cannons and solely depends on spells.

On the other hand, Witches can do combat without their spells. They were also more agile than these pure mages.

This passive was the reason why Ethan can craft a mana bomb.

Since he knows already the proper procedure and execution, it was easy for him to create the said item.

This fact was also one of the bases why Ethan wanted to choose Witch. He wants to experience crafting and use the items he crafted in combat.

He considered it to be a fun experience for him.

After sorting out the necessary things, he taps the confirm button to exit the forest dungeon.

Ethan's sight went blank for a second then he arrived again in the front of a crowded place.

The people simultaneously gaze at Ethan and start to whisper.

"Did his party has been wiped out?"

"Yeah, looks like it. Tsk tsk, there are so many noobs these days," said the other person with flappy ears and slight furs in his cheeks.

Never did they know that Ethan just easily soloed the beginner dungeon.

Well, not that he cares to boast about his small achievement as he ignores the people around him.

'Only first day and I gain a lot of fans, huh, I'm more handsome than I thought.'

He jokingly thought after stepping out of the place.

"Now, I'll gonna go ahead and take several quests to reach level 5."

Ethan walks back into the village street.

Quest was categorized into five; normal, hidden, unique, epic, and legendary quest.

In beginner village, however, all the quest was normal and only give meager experience.

It was an arduous task to accumulate exp from these kinds of quests especially if a player was in the party. However, they can efficiently earn exps while doing the task if the quest involved killing monsters in the field.

Strolling around the village, Ethan already collected three normal quests that are connected.

[Normal Quest; Collect 10 ClawRabbit's ears. Rewards; 10 exp]

[Normal Quest; Collect 5 ClawRabbit's meat. Rewards; 10 exp]

[Normal Quest; Collect 5 ClawRabbit's claws. Rewards; 10 exp]

Seriously though, what's with these NPCs?

Does somebody know how NPCs are always standing around seeming lazy? They just whine when a player shows up in the village and give these kinds of a quest.

"Well, these people were necessary. If there weren't people asking for help, there wouldn't be adventurers," he muttered.

These settings can only be seen in beginner villages. In cities and kingdoms, NPC was much more logical.

Anyhow, after walking for several minutes, Ethan arrived in the field.

In front of him were players hunting a different kind of monster. There was also a normal forest ahead. That forest was only the home of level 1-5 Roam and Den monsters.

Ethan went to the part where ClawRabbits was busily hopping. These monsters were level 2.

Though they were weak, they had agile movement and their claws had a chance to land a critical hit.

Not caring about this fact, Ethan went and shot a magic missile at the single rabbit. It was precisely hit by three missiles and cried 'kyunn!' before bursting into light.

It luckily drops a Claw item.

"Oh, a claw in the first hunt. A sign of luck!"

Ethan exclaimed and immediately store the claw in his inventory.

He proceeded deeper into the forest to hunt more.

Even though he was just a mage type, he was confident that no monster can sneak behind him.

Aside from investing in AGI, he was also more adept in evading probably because he was a Swordsman in the past.

Ethan traverses the forest to hunt rabbit monsters.

Occasionally, he met different types of mobs but he quickly avoided their flanks.

For several minutes, he continued to hunt rabbit monsters.

""Kyunn!""

Ethan successfully killed two rabbits at the same time after skillfully binding them.

A drop of meat and two pairs of ears were on the ground.

"Finally, the last one I need. Time to go home," he happily said after storing the drops.

Ethan walks out of the forest. The sun was glinting above the sky, it was still early in the morning.

After arriving inside the village, he immediately turn all the quests he took and gained enough experience to reach level 5.

There were still 2 hours before he'll be forced to leave the village. Within this time, he proceeded to sell all of the loots in his inventory except for the items he equipped and those that have future use.

Earning exactly 2 silver coin, Ethan finally confirms the initiation transfer.

He was then bathed by white light as it envelops his entire body and his sight went out black again.

After a second, Ethan feels the ground again.

He opens his eyes and what greeted him was a street full of crowds.

Ting!

[Welcome to the humble City of Palak!]

"Ah, it's good to be back."
