Question

Splash! Splash! Splash!

Sounds of splashing could be heard as Zen continued running on water. Of course, he didn't forget to bring his family and Sophie with him.

It had only been about 30 minutes since he started running. He also estimated his speed to be around 200 mph, just falling short of the top speed of supercars one century ago.

Of course, the only reason he could be this fast was because of his 99 Agility Stats in the game which were all perfectly inherited by his real body. He even felt that he could go faster if he trained his ability to walk on water further.

In fact, considering his stats, Zen even felt that this was slow. One should know that an average human without any gifts and training only had 1 for all their stats. Zen's Agility was 99 and it wasn't as simple as being 99 times faster than ordinary people.

Zen measured that even with rigorous training and talent, people on earth could only, at most, have the strength equaling about 5 Strength Stats. As for Agility and other Stats, it was unreachable through normal means.

Just reaching 6 Stats on anything would earn you the title of a superhuman in Earth's standard. As such, with 99 Agility Stats, one could only imagine what Zen's top speed would be like.

Currently, the four people on his shoulders were still asleep. Although he felt them squirm from time to time, it didn't look like they were going to regain consciousness anytime soon.

Therefore, Zen just kept running silently.

The novelty of being able to walk across on water still hasn't passed completely. However, just the action of walking on water took a considerable amount of focus since he wasn't that used to it yet. Adding to the fact that he couldn't really produce any noise since the people on his shoulder were still sleeping soundly.

After a while, he saw the silhouette of 2 islands on the horizon, one just straight ahead which seemed a little more than ten miles away and another on his right which was much closer to their current position.

Seeing that the island straight ahead seemed very far, he temporarily went to the island on his right.

After reaching the island, he first cleaned up an area and settled the four people beside each other.

Then, he found a few pieces of dry wood in the area before attempting to make a campfire.

'Hmmm…' Zen pondered about the many 'surviving in the wild' videos he had in his memory before attempting to make fire according to it.

Soon enough, a fire lit up the area around Zen and the others. Zen smiled happily as he looked at the campfire that he made with his own two hands.

'Throughout all those years of being bedridden… I never would have imagined that I would be given this chance…' Zen sighed with happiness.

Only when you lost something would you truly be able to appreciate it. In Zen's case, he once lost everything. So now, he could appreciate anything, even the smallest of things.

He looked at the horizon and noticed that the sun was beginning to set.

"Oww!"

A voice caught Zen's attention. He looked and saw that it was his mother, Rina.

"Mom, how are you feeling?" Zen asked in concern as he hurriedly went over to support his mother who was clutching her head, seemingly having a headache.

Rina went alert when she felt someone approaching, but after she heard Zen's voice, she quickly calmed down while gently rubbing her forehead. "Son, where are we?"

Now knowing what to say, Zen scratched his head and said, "I'm not really sure, but don't worry, we're far from the island where we landed earlier."

"Thank god we're safe for now." Rina said in relief before proceeding to look at the sleeping Ren and Sera.

Then, she turned towards Zen and asked curiously, "How did you manage to get us here?"

She looked at the setting sun and continued, "The sun is just setting and I'm not feeling hungry… A day hasn't even passed, right?"

Noticing how interested his mother was, Zen replied awkwardly, "Yes…"

Curiosity seemed to burst out of Rina's eyes as she asked, "Then how?"

"Well… I carried you." Zen answered honestly.

"Huh?" Rina was dumbfounded. It was not that she didn't trust Zen, her very own son. It was just that his words were incomprehensible.

"It's just like what I said. I carried all of you and ran."

"H-how?"

Knowing that they wouldn't get anywhere, Zen explained patiently, "Mom, it's because of the powers I acquired from the game."

Rina still wasn't convinced, "Surely, it couldn't be that exaggerated. And even if it is so exaggerated, then wouldn't it atleast take a long time?"

Not knowing how to explain, Zen just said, "Well, yeah. It's just that I'm a special case."

Rina looked down and muttered, "If that's the power we'll have the chance to acquire from the game, then it would surely cause the world to be in chaos. But most importantly…"

She didn't continue and instead, looked at Zen. "What do you want to do with your power?"

Zen felt confused at the sudden question and began to think deeply.

'Hmmm…'

Rina didn't rush him and just waited patiently while they sat beside each other.

Zen took his time. In fact, he hadn't thought about what to do with his power. He really had zero plans or whatsoever, he was just happy to recover from his illness.

'Maybe I could be a hero like the ones in the novel I read?'

'But I don't quite like the sound of helping others unconditionally… I… I feel that I'm not that kind of person…'

He remembered that even when he read novels, watched anime and movies, he really didn't like those outrageously kind characters.

Zen frowned as he tried to slowly explore himself. What his personality was, what he wanted, and what kind of person he really was.

'It's not that I don't like to help people… It's just that I would consider some things first before choosing whether to help or not…'

He had just recovered from his illness. He just wanted a carefree life, but the looming danger that threatens their safety forbade him from doing so.

Questions upon questions about himself piled upon Zen's mind.

Here’s the chapter for yesterday. Sorry for the delay!
