Chapter 28 — I'm your assistant and companion

Lying on the bed in her room, Leo affectionately embraced the agitated and satisfied Pandora, sharing his warmth and enjoying hers. She smiled silently, listening to his strong heartbeat and receiving his delicate caresses.

He didn't love sex just for the immense pleasure he felt from making a woman his or because it filled him with pride to do what others only dreamed of.

He also loved intimacy after it.

He once read that there is no sadder place in life than an empty bed. And while it might be somewhat exaggerated, he could say that there is no better place than a bed with the woman you love.

It may sound rather hypocritical of him to say that when he slept with too many women to count, even though he had women he loved completely, but those were his true thoughts.

At this moment he was not only Leo, the man who reincarnated in another world, he is also the man to whom Pandora gave everything. Her body, her trust, her love and her happiness.

He continued to check the extent of his control for a while until he concluded that it was all under his control. There was nothing strange with these phenomena and he set it up to look like a beautiful sunset, he could bring his mother and sisters later.

In a Knowledge Sea not only you could enter, if a person wants it, he can allow access of other people's Soul Avatars, of course they should only be trusted people since inside a Knowledge Sea all one's knowledge, memories, techniques and divine soul artifacts are stored.

The anomaly he sensed earlier was not in plain sight so Leo decided to investigate further, everything was within Leo's reach in his Knowledge Sea, so he quickly found an island a few hundred kilometers away and immediately teleported to it.

The island despite being larger than one on Earth, here it would be considered a tiny island, but it was beautiful, because with no need to go deep inside, Leo could see a variety of vegetation he did not expect to see in a place meant to be his soul.

However, he also saw the small house on the shore and the well-kept garden beside it.

"There are people living in my Knowledge Sea?" this time Leo frowned slightly.

Leo stared dumbly at the black-haired young woman wrapped in a towel kneeling in an effort to cover her modest curves as a single thought froze his mind.

A few minutes later, Leo and the black-haired young woman were sitting in the living room. The young woman was still flushed and angry at him, but still poured him a cup of tea and politely introduced herself.

"I am Shizuka Nanahoshi, your assistant and companion. Nice to finally meet you."

Unexpectedly she smiled and happily uttered the last words stretching out her hand for a greeting.

Leo, naturally, smiled happily as well. Though for different reasons, as he was relieved that he had not taken over a woman's body.

The young woman in front of him was a young girl about 17 or so, with Japanese features and long black hair. It could be said that her appearance was above average, but Leo didn't find that to be a bad thing.

Simplicity has its charm, too.

She was wearing a large blue hoodie that covered her flirty small breasts and black shorts, nothing out of the ordinary.

If only they were in Japan.

Leo gently held her hand and also introduced himself, "Leo, nice to meet you. You must already know that though."

"Exactly" she smiled mysteriously with her pretty brown eyes.

Then she pulled something that looked like a modern cell phone out of her pocket and typed a few things.

Leo was quite stunned to see the hologram in front of him. Not because they looked like the ones Tony Stark had, but because the messages looked so much like what he had heard Mia talking about a long time ago.

"Yeah, this is a System", Shizuka confirmed his suspicions sounding a little amused, "Like in manga and light novels."

Leo rubbed his temples at the undeniable fact, "This is a pain in the ass."

He wasn't as happy as you'd expect from someone who had just gotten a system. He always dismissed such things as mere fiction after all, even after being reborn into this world.

"Hmm, just as I expected" Shizuka looked pleased, "I would've been disappointed if you were jumping in joy like a typical manga or light novel isekai protagonist."

"You seem to know quite a bit about that", Leo sighed and decided to accept what he had so now he had to know what he could do with that system.

"Indeed" she nodded.

"As I said before, I am your assistant and companion" Shizuka went back to playing with her cell phone and the hologram disappeared, "And I have some control over the system, but I can't do anything significant without your permission."

"Still, I think I can help you with my knowledge and skills. You like to rely on women after all."

Leo smiled back and was not ashamed to rely on women. They were his main support after all. "You seem to know a lot about me."

"Hehe... I do" Shizuka was happy and it showed by her melodious giggles. She had been alone for many years after all, the same age Leo is.

"Well, even if I don't have much control over the system, I know a lot more about it than you do so let me explain a few things to you."

Leo was no fool and could easily intuit what those functions he saw a few seconds ago were for but he still listened to her explanation carefully as there might be special features he needed to know.

Shizuka began to explain each function, leaving the [Status] function for last as there were important things in that field. However, just as she was about to get to that point a sudden message interrupted them.

[You have an unread message in your inbox]

[Do you want to open it now?]

They both startled at the sudden appearance of the hologram and feeling Leo's inquisitive gaze, Shizuka shook her head, " It wasn't before, I checked the dimensional chat many times. It must be a message programmed by the previous Host or someone with influence over the system."

Listening to her explanation, Leo narrowed his eyes.

He couldn't think of who could have given him this system and put Shizuka as his assistant, he couldn't blindly trust that person either. He was a bit helpless here.

After some thought he said, "I'll read it later. It will be in the chat anyway. Go on with what's missing, I want to know what my body has."

Leo sensed what the [Status] function might do and couldn't contain his curiosity at being so close to knowing the reason for his uniqueness.

"Um, sure" Shizuka also understood his apprehension. She had seen all of his memories after all, so it could be said that no one knows him better than her.

She opened the [Status] function and the hologram switched to another screen full of data.
