"Have you ever heard of the terms deforestation, climate change, or pollution?" Tom asked and everyone seemed to not know.

"No idea, but deforestation sounds like the removal of forests maybe?" Newt answers questioningly.

"Good, you're correct about that." Tom nods as his face becomes more serious. "All three of those are some of the main causes for the extinction of animals. Deforestation, as you've said, refers to the decrease in forest areas across the world that are lost for other uses such as agricultural croplands, urbanization, or mining activities. Without homes to live in many species of animal, magical or not, have gone and will go extinct."

"Huh?! Who's doing this?" Newt asks in alarm.

"Muggles mainly. We magicals don't need that much wood or land, but muggles mate like rabbits. They need space to live, grow crops, etc." Tom says causing Newt to pace back and forth.

Newt loves animals. Especially those of the magical persuasion. A species of animals just dying off is sacrilege to him.

"I'm afraid that's not even the worst of it." Tom says and Newt remembered he said deforestation was only one of the many reasons for extinction. "Pollution is a bit worse in my opinion."

"What is it?" Newt asks.

"Think of pollution as the poisoning of nature itself. Muggle factories spewing poison into the atmosphere, polluting the very air we breathe. The water could be polluted with chemicals, sewage, etc. Where will the Merpeople go when the ocean itself starts killing them? Once again that's only a few examples of pollution. Hell, even things like light and noise are a form of pollution." Tom explains and Newt looked seriously appalled that this could be happening.

"I-I-I..." Newt mutters but Tom continues.

"Now, Climate Change is a bit more complicated, so I'll explain it in simple terms for you. When once the weather was hot or cold, it becomes hotter or even colder. Can an animal survive if the area around it has a drastic change in weather? Could a cold-blooded animal like reptiles survive in the arctic? I don't think so." Tom keeps ranting with Newt hanging on his every word.

"That's caused by muggles?" He asks with horror on his face.

"Mhmm, but the wizarding world contributes a bit as well. Although, our contribution is extremely minuscule compared to muggles." Tom explains and Newt looked disgusted that he may be a reason this is happening.

"How would we even fix this?" Nagini asks the question that was at the tip of Newt's tongue.

"We have a beautiful thing that muggles don't. Can you guess what that is, Drue?" Tom smirks over at Druella.

"Magic?" Druella answers, hoping it isn't a trick question.

"Exactly! These problems haven't fully been accepted by muggles just yet, but they will soon. Imagine the reveal of a magical society that was hidden from the world for fear of persecution. We announce that we wish to stop hiding and live peacefully with non-magic people. In doing so, we could enrich their lives with magic, and they could enrich ours with technology!" Tom explains and everyone stands rooted to the ground.

They all could see the sense in Tom's words. If they could create a symbiotic relationship between muggles and magicals, it wouldn't seem so crazy to reveal themselves anymore.

"What's so great about technology?" Nagini asks.

"Have you heard of Captain America?" Tom asks and Newt nods excitedly.

"He's that man that's been winning the war for the Allied forces. I've heard a lot of good things about him." Newt comments.

"Yes, well that man that stands at the focal point of this war was enhanced by technology!" Tom reveals, causing Newt and Nagini to look confused.

He then explained the experiment that Steve went through to become the man he is today. Druella added in a detail or two as she's met the man before.

Soon, Newt looked convinced. He turns to Tom with a look of determination in his eyes.

"Swear on your magic that everything you've said about animal extinction and technology is true. If you can do that, I'll swear to serve you as my lord." Newt stares piercingly at Tom, waiting for him to do as he said.

"I'll serve you as well. As long as you swear to help me with my problem, of course." Nagini adds and Tom nods towards her.

"Alright." Tom says simply and clears his throat. "I, Thomas Riddle swear on my magic that everything I've said about technology and the extinction of animals in the past hour is true to the best of my knowledge. I also swear to help Nagini with her Maledictus curse to the best of my ability, as long as she swears her loyalty to me as her lord."

As Tom finishes, he wandlessly casts the Lumos spell. After seeing that he still has his magic, Newt looked truly stunned. Everything he heard today that caused his skin to crawl is true. What if a species of magical animal that he has yet to discover is wiped out without his knowledge. An entire species gone and he would never have the joy of seeing it with his own eyes.

As for Nagini, she was worried about the animals as well, but her main problem was the curse that plagued her. The fact that someone strong enough to kill a dark lord like Grindelwald swore an oath to help her with it took so much weight off of her shoulders. The thing Nagini fears the most is turning into a snake and being forever stuck in that form. To never be able to speak with another human being again. Forever alone.

Tears began to pour from Naginis eyes as she leaped forward and hugged Tom tightly.

"Thank you... thank you..." She repeated over and over as Tom's shirt became soaked with tears.

Druella looked on jealously for a moment, but even she could tell this wasn't anything sexual. She sighed and allowed this random woman to hold Tom for now.

"Okay, a deal is a deal..." Newt says and swears the same oath as every one of his followers.

Once Nagini calmed down, she also swore the same oath. Tom gave them a mark and went on to explain some ground rules that all of his followers must follow. Basic stuff really.

"Alright, if you would excuse us, Druella and I have to discuss something." Tom says and Druella starts becoming nervous.
