Chapter 55: The Proposal

Jade's POV: "Who are you?" Was all I said to this stranger with his arms around me. He stroked my cheek and said, "Jade? It's me, Charles? You don't remember?" I stayed quiet for a moment before smiling and saying, "Gotcha..." A breath of relief swayed over Charles before he kissed me. I wrapped my arms around his neck, pulled away, and said, "I'm okay. I promise..."

Charles' POV: After Jade said that she passed out again. I assume she was drained after everything that just happened. Even though we don't know exactly what happened, I do know that all 24 of these witches are dead because of Jade. I assume that means they didn't take away her darkness and she realized how stupid she was being when she told them to kill her. I noticed Rosie sitting in the corner staring at us. I asked Elizabeth to grab her and take her back with us. We all got in the car and Jade didn't wake up until we got home...

5 HOURS LATER

Jade's POV: I woke up back in me and Charles's bed at the Suliman house. I got up and felt pretty good, however, I need to know if the darkness really is gone. I set up a few candles and sat on my knees on the bed I needed a soft place to fall on because I'd be searching my subconscious mind for any darkness...I finished searching and found out that all the darkness is gone, for good. Every little bit, my subconscious was back to normal! I got up just in time, Charles walked in the room and asked, "How are you feeling Darling?" I stood up and ran over to him at the door. I wrapped my arms around his neck and jumped into his arms in a hug and said, "It's gone! The darkness is gone!" Charles put me back down and said, "Really! Do you feel better?" I shook my head rapidly and replied, "I told you I could do it." He smiled widely and asked, "Does this mean you can get along with Rosie now?" Instant regret came over my face as I said, "Damnit. I need to apologize to her. How can I though when I tried killing more than I've actually killed?" Charles walked closer to me and said, "Just say it like you mean it!" Then he kissed me and I walked out the door. I walked downstairs and the first person I saw was Rosie. She took a few steps back from me and I quickly said, "It's okay. I'm better now and I can't even begin to apologize. No words can describe how sorry I am about how I treated you. I'd never wish to treat another woman like that, we should be respecting each other and I'm sorry I didn't show you that respect when we first met. I was already a ticking time bomb before you came into our lives, and I hate myself since I blamed you for my psychotic break! You were just a victim of a bad relationship, I can relate to that, and I hope that you can forgive me and put past all of the horrible things I did to you so maybe one day we can be friends." Rosie replied, "I accept your apology Jade. But I will need some time to think about and process everything that's happens the past few days. I hope you can understand that. Elizabeth offered to let me stay here for as long as I wanted, but I need time alone for a little bit. Thank you Jade. I'll see you and the Sulimans sometime soon..." I said goodbye and Rosie disappeared into the great unknown.

Charles' POV: I heard Jade's apology and I'm really proud she's doing better now. I called Talia and told her that Jade's fine and all the darkness is gone, I did the same with Ashton. As soon as I hung up the phone Jade walked into our room wearing the sexiest lingerie I've ever seen and said, "Movie night?" One thing I won't be liking about Jade being back to normal...she's a total tease. But I love her for it. We layed down and cuddled for the rest of the night and while we were watching "The Proposal" we both fell asleep...

Jade's POV: I woke up feeling great. My life was stable for once. My relationship is perfect, my life is perfect, everything is just perfect. I don't think I've felt this good in a very long time. Almost a year to be exact. 8 months ago was the last time my life felt normal, then I met the Sulimans. I wish I would've known what being not normal was a long time ago if it meant meeting this amazing family. They feel like my family, and I honestly wouldn't have a problem being apart of it for real. Charles wasn't in bed next to me when I woke up so I went downstairs but still saw nothing. In fact, nobody was home. It was only me! I searched the entire house and when I grabbed a blood bag out of the fridge I found a note on it that said,

"Come to the place where we had our first kiss...

Love, Charles"

I got in my car and drove to my old house, which still hasn't been sold, and saw a tassel hanging from the top of the porch with another note attached to it that said "Pull..." So I did and a bunch of rose petals fell from the ceiling followed by a note that read,

"Take a trip to the place where you get your favorite burgers..."

What game is he playing with me right now? I got back in my car and drove to the sports bar and grill. I thought It'd be hard to find a clue in here since it's always busy, but I easily saw it. A little present box sitting at the bar stand with a shiny red bow on top. I opened it and found a pretty rose inside with another note that said,

"I know how much you love movie night so drive to the place where you can buy movies..."

I grabbed the rose and left the bar. Once again I got into my car and this time I drove to the movie store. Some of my favorite classics are here. Once I got inside a man approached me and said I had a package delivered here for me. I opened it and tons of glitter fell to the floor along with a bubble-wrapped movie. I pulled it all the way out and unwrapped it completely. There was yet again, a note, on the inside. I opened it and it said,

"Play the 'movie' Darling..."

I put it in the movie player and it was Charles who appeared on the screen. He said, "Hello Darling, now that you've made it this far I'd like for you to pick a movie, any movie, and we'll watch it tonight. After you pick one drive to the mall, there, you'll find a Suliman sister awaiting you..." I smiled and started searching through the movies. I'm a sucker for these types of movies so I ended up picking "Dirty Dancing" which I haven't seen in ages! Soon enough I arrived at the mall and as Charles said, waiting outside was a Suliman sister. It was Audrey. She said, "We're having a mini shopping spree. But we'll only be going to one store..." I gave her a confused look as she continued, "Victoria Secret. Let's go!" Audrey grabbed my hand and dragged me through the mall until we got there. Once we got inside she said, "Charles said you get to pick anything you want, as much as you want too! I say take advantage of this girl! Find something sexy." As I turned to walk away Audrey slapped my ass and we laughed. I searched about for awhile and picked out a few sets, I also picked out just some silk pajamas and a matching silk robe. They were just simple pieces, I don't need anything drastic! Once I checked them out at the counter Audrey said, "According to Charles he says you are to go to The Meadow where you'll follow the scent of flowers and baked goods to your destiny. And don't ask what that means because I have no clue!" I smiled and said, "I know exactly what that means and where to go. Thank you Audrey." Then I left. The Meadow is a place where Charles took me right before all the darkness overpowered me. It was so calming and peaceful and beautiful, Charles said that place is special to him because it reminds him of me. I smiled just thinking about that. I started my car and quickly drove off to The Meadow and once I arrived I stepped out of my car. He wasn't kidding about the smell of baked goods, I got out and immediately smelled honey, chocolate, candy, pastries, literally everything. He also left a trail of rose petals leading around a small hill to a picnic set, a blanket with a basket and all the food on it laid on the ground. I went and sat down trying to look for clues when I looked up and saw Charles walked towards me. I smiled and said, "You did all of this for me?" He replied, "Of course I did. I'd do anything for you Jade, and I wanted this to be extra special..." I was still smiling but slightly confused so I asked, "What are you talking about?" Charles sat down next to me and grabbed my hand. He reached into his coat pocket, pulled out a ring and asked, "I've loved you since I laid eyes on you. My world has been flipped upside down in the best way possible since you came into it. Everything about you is perfectly imperfect and I love that. You're beautiful dark brown hair, the gorgeous tint of brown in your green eyes, the breathtaking sight of your entire body, how intelligent you are, the way you care so much for everyone and everything, how sensitive you are, and your soul, beautiful! I can't fully explain the feeling I get when I'm around you, I feel alive, happy, excited, passionate, safe, loved, and beyond grateful that I have you. You make me a better person, I was a monster until I met you, and when I did...the spark I felt, it was overwhelming, I knew I was destined to be with you forever. And now I know that's possible since we can both live forever together. Making you my girlfriend and the love of my life wasn't enough, I want you to be mine forever...Jade Kara Eddington-Bradford, will you make every hope and dream of mine come true by being my wife?" I smiled with tears running down my face. I pulled Charles in while repeating, "Yes!" Over and over again until Charles kissed me. He slid the ring on my finger and said, "You're mine forever!" I smiled and replied, "I'll never forget!"

~REALITY~

Jade's POV: I woke up realizing it was morning, Charles laying next to me, and "The Proposal" running on repeat. I can't believe it was all just a dream, it felt so real, I wish it was real...
