Chapter 15: Code Breaker

On the lacrosse field, Lydia is still unconscious and bleeding and Peter demands that Stiles come with him.

"Just kill me, look I don't care anymore," Stiles says not wanting to leave Lydia but Peter stands him up forcefully.

"call your friend, tell Jackson where she is to get her," Peter tells him and Stiles finally gave up and called Jackson before leaving with Peter. Jackson arrives after they left and carries Lydia back to the gym asking for help.

Stiles and Peter are on the road going somewhere. Peter turns to stiles and sees he's still upset.

"Don't feel bad. If she lives, she'll become a werewolf. She'll be incredibly powerful." Peter tells him

"Yeah. And once a month she'll go out of her freaking mind and try to tear me apart." Stiles says

"Well, actually, considering she's a woman … twice a month," Peter says nonchalantly and Stiles gives him a, you did not just say that look but Peter ignores it.

Back at the Argent house. Chris throws something at a wall in frustration as things were getting out of hand. First, he had to deal with the stress of finding the alpha and then Derek Hale gets back to town. Then he starts looking for a second Beta that the alpha turned which turned out to be Scott McCall. His sister comes to town and starts leaving Allison clues about their family which he was angry about but not anymore since apparently, she knew all along, but the biggest shock was Allison being the mate of a very powerful Alpha Astrid Mikealson.

"Feeling better?" Kate asks.

"Don't push me, Kate" Chris snaps at her

"I thought it was a pretty healthy display of aggression actually," Kate says nonchalantly

"Why are you back here, you hate this town," Chris asks her, "I have a network of names I could have called a lot closer than you but you called first"

"So now you don't want my help," Kate said

"I'm not sure I know who you're helping"

"oh come on I'm here to catch the alpha you know the one killing people at random," she says.

"Not random"

"what," Kate asks.

"Tyler said that sheriff Stilinski can connect every murder back to the Hale fire," Chris tells her making her silent for a bit.

"well then that's even more reason for me to help cause they've always blamed us for that fire," she says acting like she wasn't the one behind it. "it had to have been Derek or some other relative but I guaranty that they are circling around us as their last targets"

"I know which is why you're taking Allison out of here tonight and you'll drive her to the house in Washington until this cools off," he tells her, he knows Astrid will not let anything happen to Allison but he's still a worried father. He would never separate them since their souls are bound together.

"Are you kidding me, you're gonna bench your star player in the last quarter?" she asks making Chris very angry as he throws the pieces back to the ground shattering them even more.

"Get your things I want the two of you on the road within the hour," he tells her seriously before kate walks to her room to pack up.

After half an hour Kate and Allison are in the car, ready to go. 

"You know you can't do this without me. You're not going to find him on your own." kate says but Chris ignores her.

"Call me when you get there," Chris tells Allison who nods. He was glad that she was cooperative he thought she'd be resistant in leaving Astrid It just showed she trusted him not to separate them a trust he will not break. In reality, the only reason Allison was cooperative was she had a feeling kate was not gonna leave that easily.

"Is she right? Can you find the Alpha?" Victoria asked Chris when they drove away.

"No. But Scott and Astrid can. And I don't know where Astrid is but I know how to find Scott." he says.

Kate dives Allison and her to the hospital. she tells Allison to go see her friend while she waits in the car. Allison knew what she was doing she was trying to manipulate her to think that all werewolves do the same thing the alpha did to Lydia and she was right because after returning from seeing Lydia the first thing Kate said was,

"Are you starting to get it this is what they do and they can't help it"

Stiles and Peter arrive in a parking lot. Peter opens the boot of a car that contains a bag and the dead body of his old nurse. He takes the bag.

"Good Luck getting a signal down here," Stiles tells him before Peter takes out portable wifi, "oh, wifi and you're a mack guy does that go for all werewolves or just a personal preference "

"Turn it on and get connected," Peter says ignoring Stiles earlier comment. Stiles tries to pretend that he doesn't know Scott's username and password and Peter is having none of that shit. He slams Stiles's head into the car.

"I can be very persuasive, Stiles. Don't make me persuade you" Peter says.

Jackson walks into the hospital, looking for Lydia and rubbing at his neck wounds. Lydia is lying in a hospital bed, looking much less bloody and wearing a hospital gown and an oxygen mask.

"Hey, what the hell happened to that girl," sheriff Stilinski asks Jackson.

"I -I don't know I went out looking for..." Jackson says but is interrupted by the sheriff.

"what she just happened to wander in that field and you just found her like that. Don't lie to me son"

" I..." but he gets interrupted again as the sheriff grabs his collar.

"WHAT HAPPENED TO HER"

"This isn't my fault" Jackson finally says.

"she's your girlfriend that's your responsibility," Stilinski tells him angrily

"no, she's not ok she didn't go to the formal with me," Jackson says.

"Then who'd she go with," Stilinski asks calming down a bit.

"do you really wanna know? she went with Stiles" Jackson tells him.

"What," Stilinski asks in surprise.

"Stiles took her," Jackson repeats.

"Someone better find my son," Stilinski says after letting go of Jackson. ___________________________________________________

Scott who was brooding in the animal clinic since Maya didn't give him a second chance hears the dog's barking and howling which gives him an idea to locate Derek. Scott, having changed into some more comfy clothes, climbs up what looks like Pride Rock and howls into the darkness.

Derek who just got done knocking the hunter out after freeing himself since Astrid told him that kate was coming to the Hale house with Allison hears Scott's howl.

Astrid also hears the howl and smiles as she sits on top of a tree branch waiting for the final showdown. ' Let spice it up a little,' she thought before she created a fog nothing too dense but enough to give the Hale house a creepy look. A few minutes later she heard Derek howl back to Scott.

Scott who was going to walk away since Derek didn't respond hears Derek's howl and wolf-runs through the woods towards Derek.

Stiles finds out Derek's location.

"Wait, that's where they're keeping him? His own house?" Stiles asks surprised

"Not at it. Under it. I know exactly where that is." Peter says as it hits him.

Peter hears the wolf howling going on in the background and looks toward it. Peter puts everything back in the boot of the car before hearing Derek respond to Scott's howl. Peter crushes the keys to Stiles's Jeep so he can't go anywhere.

"So you're not going to kill me?" stiles asks making Peter turn to him, "oh, god"

"Don't you understand yet? I'm not the bad guy here." Peter says

"You turn into a giant monster with red eyes and fangs and you're not the bad guy here?"

"I like you, Stiles, since you've helped me I'm gonna give you something in return, do you want the bite," Peter asks.

"What"

"Do you want the bite" Peter repeats, "If it doesn't kill you—and it could—you'll become like us."

"like you," Stiles asks still surprised.

"Yes, a werewolf do you want me to draw you a picture," Peter says sarcastically as he starts to appeal to Stiles's sidekick complex and makes a compelling case.

"I don't want to be like you," Stiles says as he takes back his hand.

"you know what I just heard your heart beating slightly faster at the words I don't want," Peter says before leaving.

Scott reaches Derek's house before finding the entrance to the underground basement but finds Derek standing in front of it.

"I thought you were being held, hostage," Scott asks confused.

"I was but I freed myself," Derek says as he walks towards the house with Scott following.

"wait, Derek, I have to tell you something about Peter," Scott said but Derek continued for him.

"That he and his nurse lured my sister here so he can become the alpha I know and trust me he's gonna get what's coming to him," Derek says as his eyes glowed blue.

"Then why did you wait up until now," Scott asked.

"only waiting for 1 last name to be crossed off the list," Derek tells him making him confused. They both stopped when they reached the open area in front of the house. They hear a twig snap and turn to it only to see Allison and Kate standing a few feet away from them with Allison pointing an arrow at them.

"shot him in the shoulder," kate says to Allison but nothing happens. she turns around and sees Allison pointing the bow and arrow at her. " Allison your pointing in the wrong direction"

"no, I'm in the right direction," Allison says as moves away from Kate and next to Derek and Scott, " I won't let you hurt my friends"

"Friends, Allison wake up are you forgetting what they did to Lydia," Kate tells her

"The alpha did that to her and he'll get what's coming to him," Allison says with a serious voice, " plus none of this would have happened if you stuck to the code all of this is your fault and yes, I'm up to date on the supernatural since the first day of school"

"I just did what I was told to," Kate says

" no one asked you to murder innocent people there were children in that house ones who were human," Chris says as he walks up to them alongside a massive wolf with red eyes that shifted into Astrid.

"you," Kate said surprised

"Yes, me," Astrid said before smiling as Allison kissed her, "You did great keeping an eye on her"

"you're the alpha" kate asks

"oh, I'm not the one you should be worried about Kate he is," Astrid said as the door of the hale house opened and Peter ran out of it moving faster than their eyes can follow but to astrid, he was moving in slow-mo. He started tripping people beginning with Scott then Derek and finally Chris.

He grabbed kate's right hand that held a gun and twisted until it broke before throwing her in the house. Allison and Astrid followed calmly to find Peter seizing kate's throat with his clawed right hand.

"she is beautiful Kate " talking about Allison," she looks just like you probably not as damaged so I'm gonna give you a chance to apologise, say that you're sorry for decimating my family, for leaving burned and broken for 6 years, say it," Peter tells her

"I'm sorry," Kate said but her heartbeat rose meaning that she was lying.

"Wow, I got to say I'm impressed Kate because even in the claws of death literally, you chose to lie," Astrid said before Peter slashed her throat and let her fall to the ground. After that Derek entered followed Scott but Astrid grabbed Scott's shoulder and dragged him out. "This is a fight between family members so don't interfere"

Astris and Allison checked on Chris who was unconscious. A few minutes growls and roars later the alpha was thrown out of the window covered in deep claw marks all over his body he could barely stand up. Just then Stiles and Jackson rolled up in the Porsche, they get out and threw a self-igniting Molotov cocktail hitting him and setting him on fire.

Derek got out of the house and walked to the downed Peter before he slashed his throat taking back what was stolen from his sister.

"I'm the Alpha now," he says with a deep voice.

"Yeah, but don't let it get to your head Alpha or not you're still in my pack brother" Astrid say getting a smile from Derek.

"Same to you sister" Derek replies before Astrid, Allison, Chris, Scott, Stiles and Jackson left.

Later on in the Hale house, the Sheriff finds Kate's body. She's wearing the pendant he's been looking for.

Scott and Stiles sneak into Lydia's hospital room. The sneaking seems pointless since there's still a window to the hallway that they haven't done anything about to check Lydia's wound that hasn't healed.

STILES: I don't get it. The doctors said she'd be completely fine.

SCOTT: But it's not healing like it did with me, which means she's not a werewolf.

STILES: Then what the hell is she.

There's a headline in the papers about Kate possibly being the murderer since she's already tied to the Hale fire.

"We shouldn't have done it. That stupid necklace." Chris says

"The police would have put it together eventually. Don't think for one second she's taking the fall for something she didn't do." Victoria tells him

"We're going to be pariahs in this town," Chris said

"We can handle it."

"And Allison?" Chris asks

"She'll learn. What about Astrid?" Victoria asks

"I'm not the only one she has to worry about now but she can take care of herself," Chris says

Allison and Astrid sit on the roof together, cuddling as they look at the nearly-full moon.
