Nen X Hatsu
Dodging a punch thrown at my face I lashed out with a kick.
Only for it to be easily blocked.
Then as soon as it was a punch was thrown towards my face which I moved to block and successfully did, only to see a kick coming towards my left side out of my peripheral vision.
I raised my arm to block the kick and it made it in time. However I didn't have time to brace myself properly and thus got tossed along the ground like a sack until I finally got my bearings back and managed to stand back to my feet.
Putting my guard up as soon as I did so.
Since my opponent today is not pulling their punches in the slightest.
It's my father by the way.
Currently we are having a mock-battle.
And as usual he is dominating me without issue.
Just like he has done every since we added said battle to my training regimen a year ago.
By the way five years have come and gone in the blink of an eye since I've begun my training. I am now ten years old.
During this time my mother and father have shown me various martial arts styles, and taught me about all different sorts of weapons showing me how to attack and defend with them. Not only that but my parents have also shown details about poisoning, instructed me in biology and geography, and have even taught me survival skills for when, not if, I end up on an excursion far away from civilization in the future and have to fend for myself.
Oh and concerning geography I've learned the names of the other continents that weren't mentioned in the manga or anime in my last life.
Since only two were.
The Yorbian continent which houses Yorknew City and the Azia continent which houses the Kakin Kingdom. There is also the island nation of Jappon.
Anyway, these are the names of the other continents.
Europa.
It houses the Mimbo Republic, which is also where Swardani City the headquarters of the Hunter Association is located.
Canberria.
It houses the Begerosse Union.
Sutan.
Which houses the Federation of Ochima
Then finally there is the Drazil continent.
Which houses the Kukan'yu Kingdom.
There are also various other small states around the world, but I have only learned the major ones so far. Though that doesn't mean I won't learn the others in the future.
Since I have come to realize just how vast the Hunter x Hunter world is since I took up residence here after my reincarnation.
And again, I can't wait to explore it and see it with my own two eyes.
I waited for my father to go on the attack once more but he didn't. Instead he relaxed his stance.
When he did I knew that signified the end of the spar, so I relaxed my stance as well.
"So, how did I do today?" I asked my father. Since I like to hear his critique of my performance after almost every match.
Unlike some people I can take constructive criticism well.
"You did very well." My father told me. "However you relaxed your guard too much when you thought you knew where my last attack was coming from, resulting in you being kicked. Remember son, never let your guard down until after the fight is over."
"Understood." I said.
"Alright then. Let's move on. To begin today's lesson is going to be very different from any others you've have in your training up until now. That is because today I am about to show you something only a small percentage of the population knows, and with good reason. The power I am going to display is dangerous and can kill people in an instant. But after seeing how well you've done in your training over the past five years your mother and I agreed we should begin teaching this power to you. Besides to become a true pro hunter you will need to learn this power anyway, so why not gain it sooner rather than later." My father explained to me.
As he did so I kept a neutral expression on my face, but on the inside I am screaming with joy at the top of my lungs.
Since today I am about to start learning nen.
Basically the ultimate power in the world of Hunter x Hunter.
Actually I was wondering if my parents were going to teach it to me or not.
If they didn't that would've been fine. I just would've learned it after I took and passed the hunter exam. But since they are it means I can develop my nen early which will help me a great deal in the future.
Especially where developing my nen ability or abilities are concerned.
Since the sooner I awaken nen and start training with it the sooner I can develop my own superpower.
And who wouldn't want that?
Though the power I develop will depend on what hatsu category my aura falls into. As for what that might be I have no idea.
So I guess only time will tell.
"Ok dad, I'm ready." I told him.
"Excellent. So first off let me start by telling you the name of this power. It is known as nen." My father began.
He then began explaining nen to me leaving out no details in the slightest.
As he did so I took note and paid attention to his every word.

Sweat pouring down my entire body I took slow and steady breaths.
I continued to do so until my father spoke up.
"Time!" He called out.
When he did so I deactivated my Ren and fell on my ass. Inhaling and exhaling to get my breathing under control after I did so.
Training the duration of Ren is no joke after all. Now I understand what Gon and Killua went through during the Chimera Ant Arc.
However the benefits far outweigh the cost where this particular matter is concerned.
That's why as soon as I managed to unlock my aura I began training my Ren intensively.
Which was two years ago by the way.
I am currently twelve years old.
On that day after my father explained nen to me I began training to unlock it, going with the slow and steady method as opposed to the fast and dangerous method like Gon and Killua.
Three months after I began training on nen I unlocked my aura. Then once I did I went to work on Ten, Zetsu, Ren, and all the other nen techniques.
Except for Hatsu.
My own decision.
I wanted to increase my aura capacity first before I see which category my aura falls into. Since as soon as I learn this I will want to start working on my nen ability.
When my parents learned of this they decided to honor my wishes.
Thus we have not touched upon my hatsu.
However I think today all of that will change.
Since I set a goal for myself to hold Ren for three hours straight before learning my hatsu and I believe today I achieved that goal.
"So dad, what's the time?" I asked him. Since he was timing the duration of my Ren using the stopwatch currently in his hand.
"3 hours and 20 minutes." Dad said. "Congratulations son you've reached your mark."
"Yes." I cheered. "Ok. Now that I've reached it its time for hatsu training." I said.
"Understood." Dad said. "Ana dear, Soren says he's ready for hatsu training." He said towards the house.
A moment after he did so my mother came out, caring a cup of water and a stool in either hand.
Setting them up in front of me, she took out a leave from her pocket and placed it on the surface of the water.
"Everything is set up." Mom said.
As she did so I stood to my feet.
"Now Soren, do you remember how to tell which category your aura falls into?" Mom asked me.
"Yes, I remember." I told her.
If the volume of water changes then I am an enhancer.
If the taste of the water changes I am a transmuter.
If the color of the water changes I am an emitter.
If the leave moves along the surface of the water I am a manipulator.
If impurities appear in the water I am a conjurer.
And if a totally different result appears other than the first five I am a specialist.
"Good." Mom said. "By the way I am a transmuter." Mom told me.
"So am I." Dad said. "But that doesn't mean you'll be one. Since your grandmother falls into the enhancer category." He explained.
I nodded as he did so.
"Got it." I said.
I then stepped up to the water glass and put my hands on either side of it. Once I did I started focusing my aura into my hands and into the glass.
For five minutes straight I did this, yet nothing happened.
Stopping my aura flow into the glass I decided to stick my finger into the water and then tasted it.
It's sour.
Meaning I am a transmuter.
"Looks like I am a tansmuter like you guys." I told my parents.
When I did so they smiled.
As did I.
Since now I know exactly what nen ability I want to create.
All of that knowledge on anime, games, and manga from my last life is about to indispensable.
