Reincarnation?

"Look out Smith!"

Ray Jackson abruptly opened his eyes and jumped awake, looking around the room in a slight fit of panic. His body was sweating profusely as if he was having a bad dream and he held onto the white bedsheets tightly, his hands shaking from fear.

"How am I alive?"

Ray looked around the room to get a feel of his surroundings and his breath became stifled when he noticed something was...off.

'This isn't the hospital that I know. This place is different. The eastern paintings on the walls, the language on these paintings, and if I listen closely enough, I could hear the nurses talking in...is that Korean?'

Ray started piecing the situation together in his mind as he took note of everything he could around him. That's when he realized that he should probably focus on the most important thing in the room right now, himself. As soon as he looked down at his hands, Ray's mind began to race even more as he muttered, "This...isn't my body. At least, not the one I'm used to. Even though I'm laying in a hospital bed, I feel stronger than I ever did in my past life."

At this point, Ray had already come to the conclusion that he had reincarnated. There's no way that his poor parents would be able to afford a high-class hospital like this in Korea, which was pretty much halfway across the world when they lived in America. It was simply illogical for this to be the case.

What pushed him more to this conclusion though were the unfamiliar memories in his head.

'The name of the past owner of this was Park Yong-Sun, a...hunter? He awakened as an E Rank...wait a minute. Is this world what I think it is?!'

Ray, now assuming the identity of Park Yong-Sun, jumped out of his bed and stood up, clenching his fists.

'I really-'

"Yong-Sun! You're awake too! Oh, thank the heavens!"

A beautiful short white-haired woman ran into the room with a man resembling Yong-Sun by her side. He had sharp features including his jawline, eyebrows, and even his chin. He had blonde hair that bordered on being golden and bright yellow eyes that seemed like they were alit with flames.

'These two are the parents of the past owner of this body. I guess I should call them my parents now?'

Yong-Sun relaxed the power that was swelling up within, at least, he tried to and faced the woman running at him with tears in her eyes.

"Oh Yong-Sun, you had us so worried! Wait, do you know who we are?"

As if a past trauma had been awoken, the woman's eyes became filled with despair and she held on to her husband's hands tightly, awaiting an answer. Yong-sun nonchalantly looked at both of them but he almost pitied them inwardly. After all, their real son was already dead.

"Mom? Dad?"

Tears started to flow out of his mom's eyes as she ran up to him and hugged him tightly. His father walked up to him and put his hands on his shoulder as he said with a smile, "We've missed you, son."

Even as Yong-sun was faking this interaction, in his mind he was studying the mannerisms of the original body owner to mimic them as much as possible. He couldn't afford to blow his cover, at least not right now when he didn't have the strength to deal with the repercussions.

After crying her eyes out for several minutes, his mother released him from her death grip and rubbed his face, saying, "Yong-sun, I can see you're feeling healthy but please, sit down and rest a bit more. It isn't safe for you to move around like this yet. By the way, we just came from seeing your brother and he's also feeling...fine."

As she said this, her reddened eyes became teary once again. His father quickly hugged her and whispered some consoling words in her ear. The sadness was too much for her. After doing this, his father looked at him with a heartwarming smile and said, "Son, we're going now. I'll take your mother home so she can get some rest while I head back to work. Don't push yourself too much and if you need anything, don't hesitate to call. We love you, alright?"

They both left, well, his mother had to be dragged out of the room by his father, leaving Yong-sun to rest on his bed. The latter started clenching his fists once again to feel the power rushing through him. In the memories of the original body owner, he was never even close to being this powerful.

'I wonder what caused this? Maybe I have a system of my own to tell me? Hm, well, the chances of that happening are 0-'

Yong-sun's eyes were wide open as he stared at the blue transparent screen in front of him. This couldn't be real right? He couldn't have been that lucky. For the first time since he arrived in this new and now slightly less mysterious world, he smiled. This was a smile that showed overbearing happiness. But, even then, there was a hint of sorrow within his eyes.

'Sigh, if only my brother was here to enjoy this with me.'

That was when he heard a knock on the door and two men in suits briskly walked in with a nurse behind them. Seeing that Yong-Sun was up, the leader of the men pulled a badge out of his pocket and said, "Hello, Park Yong-sun, we're from the Hunters Association and we suspect that you have been double awakened. We apologize if it's a bad time but can you please co-operate with us?"
