Chapter 10 The moment that Lisa realized that Barry wasn't listening to her,she became angry. She felt betrayed by her beloved Barry and she hated how easily he could make decisions regarding her safety. Barry looked at Lisa apologetically and told her that they were leaving the warehouse, for the time being at least, until they could find more people who could help them rescue Lisa. ''This isn't right! Let me go!",Lisa insisted. Barry ignored her and continued walking forwards towards the entrance of the building.",You're acting like a child!,I don't know who taught you to act like this but you're not helping anybody.",said Lisa as her eyes welled up with tears."Lisa, stop this now!",Barry exclaimed as he held her tighter by her wrists, while trying to prevent her from hurting herself more. ''I can't believe I ever thought that he actually cared about me...he abandoned me and now everyone else does too. Why does everybody in this family have to be so selfless and selfish?",thought Lisa angrily. After a few moments of struggling and shouting, she eventually stopped moving, still exhausted and drained. Her whole body ached painfully from where she had fallen to the ground. Although she felt physically tired, there was also an inner part of her that felt emotionally and mentally exhausted from everything that she had endured these past days. The only thing that had kept her sane was her determination to protect her friends, and to ensure that they would never have to face whatever that woman had planned for them. But,now she was beginning to wonder whether they would even make it. Barry looked helplessly at her in despair. He knew that he shouldn't have taken any chances, yet he had done nothing but what had he promised her all those years ago? Had she truly believed that he would just leave her behind? But now that things had changed, could he really live a life that was devoid of love? Was it really worth putting his life on the line if he couldn't be with her again? Maybe he couldn't even trust himself to be with her anymore,so he might as well end it all. That was what his mother would want him to do anyway, right? But Lisa had always been the stronger one between the two of them and she wasn't going to allow him to do this to himself. Not anymore. She would fight until the very last breath left her body and she swore that she would never give up fighting so hard until the last drop of blood dripped from her veins. With her strength returned, she forced herself to sit up straight while glaring venomously at Barry."I know you want to kill yourself but that doesn't mean that I will let you.",Lisa said sternly. She tried to free herself again, this time using every ounce of her strength to try to break free. Unfortunately, even though she felt her muscles burning, she was still unsuccessful. Barry took a step closer and placed a hand on her shoulder.",Look at me,''he commanded softly."No!",she responded immediately. Barry sighed heavily. She didn't understand the difference between wanting to kill yourself or living your life peacefully without having to worry about anyone's reaction. ''If you're not ready to die, that's fine, because I won't force you to,but you have to stop this madness. Please,I beg you, please stop struggling,or I will have to do something that I regret.'' Barry looked into Lisa's eyes. He saw how desperate she was to escape and how afraid she was that something worse would happen to her if she didn't cooperate. She lowered her gaze and gave a tiny nod. Biting his lower lip,Barry reached out to untie her hands, and pulled her close so that their chests touched. He kissed her forehead softly and closed his eyes as a single tear slowly rolled down his cheek. Lisa wrapped her arms tightly around his waist as the tears flowed freely down her face. Neither of them knew who started crying first
