Slug Club I

"What- what are you doing here?" Riddle felt his heart pounding against his chest as he stumbled to the side looking bewildered at Morsia who had sneaked upon him reading a dark magic book in the restricted section of the library.

She was smiling like the crazy bitch she was as she repeated herself once again, "Are you planning to kill me Riddle?" she tilted her head sideways, the sunlight from behind her making her expression look more sinister.

"What are you talking about?" he couldn't recollect himself quickly as he did usually.

Morsia looked annoyed as she pointed to the book he was holding in his hand.

"It said, kill an innocent soul," she said tilting her head to the other side this time, her sinister smile back on.

"Not everything is about you Ravenwood," he had finally collected himself as he sat up straight dusting his robes as he did so.

"Who is it then?"

she looked threateningly at him, her amber eyes glowing in the dim light.

"I was merely reading it," he shrugged as he put the book back on the shelf.

"AY, KEEP IT QUIET KIDS" the librarian yelled from the other side.

Morsia gestured for Riddle to zip his mouth to which he glared at her.

"Why are you here?"

Morsia rolled her eyes, "Professor Slughorn had told me to give you this," she held out an invitation.

"I had forgotten about it since you were in a rush--- to read this book?" she took out the book and started turning its pages.

Riddle quickly grabbed the book from her and placed it on a higher shelf out of her reach.

"You know it's getting late for lunch, we should go" he muttered as he grabbed her out of the library.

"So Are you going to the slug club party?" he added as they walked toward the great hall.

"Yes, I will accompany you," She nodded indifferently.

Riddle was glad that she didn't bring up the book again while they headed for lunch and even glad that she took up his offer to accompany him to the party.

He was hoping that she will not bring it up at the lunch table as well.

"What's up with Slughorn pampering his favorite students?" Rosier demanded looking at the invitation of Riddle.

"Why? Are you so jealous that I got invited and you're not?" Avery mocked him shoving a hot pie in his mouth.

"You only got invited because of your father, Idiot" Rosier snarled at him.

Morsia was eating, minding her own business only looked up when Tom mentioned about them going together to the slug club party when Avery asked about it.

"I'm going with Ravenwood, it's less trouble since we're prefects," Riddle quoted as he wiped his mouth, getting ready to leave.

"Damn Riddle, you dodged a bullet there!" Avery exclaimed, just then Camille nudged him on the elbows.

After the encounter with Morsia, Notts hadn't spoken a word to anyone and isolated herself from the rest of the Slytherins. She was even reactionless when Rosier broke up with her, which was unlike her. Even the ones who got bullied by her can't help but feel a little bad for her.

Riddle was the only one who knew the reason behind her behavior but he dare not speak about it.

He saw Morsia pause for a moment at the remark and to his surprise she looked over at Notts, who was eating silently.

For instance, he thought Morsia felt bad for Notts, but no, she smirked mercilessly at her.

'Wow, she really is something,' he wondered.

The afternoon classes were double history much to the students' dismay, perfect for nap time.

Professor Binns won't even stop to take a breath, but then again he was a dead man.

"Make it stop, I wanna go to the party right away!" Avery squealed.

"Oh shut up!" Rosier hit his head.

"Oh by the way, who are you going with?" Rosier felt a sudden interest in his best friend.

"I - Uh Morsia?" he mumbled rubbing his head.

Avery got another blow. "Are you that thick? Riddle said he's going with her," Rosier reminded him.

"Yes, I don't know now," Avery told confused.

"Why don't you take me?" Rosier pleaded his eyes filled with unusual gleam.

"No."

Avery swiftly pushed Rosier out of his desk, causing him to stumble and fall to the ground.

"You little twerp!"

"I'm gonna take that pigtail girl," he added smiling wickedly.

The seemingly endless hour of History finally came to an end, and the students hurriedly made their way outside, not wasting a single second.

Although Tom Riddle couldn't get any information about Basilisk he found something far more interesting. It was like as it quotes- in search of gold, he found diamonds.

And now he was dying to try it, bidding his time for a perfect chance.

The day was drawing to a close, with darkness slowly engulfing the once-blue sky.

Riddle got ready for the slug club dinner in his neat black suit, it was old but no one could tell. He had brushed his hair so that a single strand would slope to one side, which framed his face perfectly giving him a charming look.

Avery had also gotten ready, he looked only half enthusiastic as Riddle was. Since his dream partner was going with his friend.

Avery approached Tom closely, examining him from head to toe, before turning back to his own reflection in the mirror. He pondered what could be wrong with his expensive thousand-Galleon suit, considering how well Riddle appeared in his seemingly shabby attire.

Even though his thoughts weren't words, Riddle could decipher as much, He was rather good at it.

He walked out of the boys' dorm, looking around for Morsia.

'Girls take forever to get ready,' he shook his head feeling annoyed. He didn't like the fact that he is waiting for her.

After a while, when it was getting late for dinner, he made the decision to leave. However, before doing so, he caught sight of Camille and realized he needed to ask her about it.

"Hey, do you happen to know where Ravenwood is?"

"Oh, she left for the slug club dinner," she answered without thinking much about it until it dawned on her.

"OH, were you waiting? better hurry," she added awkwardly.

He had never felt so humiliated and he had felt this way twice and by the same person.

"Thank you," he nodded curtly.

He cursed inwardly as he made a little run to Professor Slughorn's Office.

Everyone was already inside, and he heard chatter when he pushed open the doors.

"Just in time Tom!, We just began!" Professor Slughorn waved him to sit beside him.

Despite the differences in their ages and houses, everyone greeted him warmly, recognizing him as a person of high value who seemed to have formed connections with each and every one of them.

He looked around and still couldn't find Morsia Around him. Now, he was really confused.

"What about your partner, Tom?" Professor Slughorn inquired as they ate.

"Oh well, it was Ravenwood but she-" Before he could finish Professor Slughorn Answered.

"AH, she told me she had some studying to do, maybe next time!" He chucked.

Riddle felt a surge of anger brewing in his head.
