Chapter 14: A Comic

Coming back from school, Leo went straight to home; his siblings were at their grandparents' house due to his both of his parents' job and fearing accidental magic they were placed under a nanny's care. Eva was on duty to look after both the houses.

As Leo entered the house he was greeted by Eva, who with her ever enthusiastic voice said, "Welcome back Master Leo. How was school?"

"It was good, Eva. Could you make get me something to eat on my room; I need to do some assignments" Leo said Eva as he went to his room.

"Sure, Master Leo" Eva replied and vanished to the kitchen.

Leo headed to his room, stepping into a space far larger on the inside than it appeared from outside, a gift from his father. He dropped his bag on the desk and sank into his chair, muttering to himself, "Well, I did think about writing comics someday, but now I know when."

 "There are no DC or Marvel comic as far as I have search, manga is a thing but most popular mangas like Naruto, Bleach and One Piece time hasn't arrive at" Leo took out his journal and started to scribble.

"Now, I don't know much about mangas but I do know about comic, what should I make?" Leo tried to name all the comic superheroes he knew and also the story surrounding them.

As he was busy with his thoughts, he heard a knock and Eva enter with the food. Leo thanked her absentmindedly and kept thinking. While he had thought about drawing a comic he hadn't realized how hard it was to choose a good one that matched his requirements.

"Most of the Marvel comics' superheroes are based on US so; it will not be the best decision to draw about them as a British kid. So, that eliminates multiple superheroes or maybe I should make them based on UK" Leo thought aloud as he eliminated some of the superheroes names he had written.

"Since it's for the newspaper, the story needs to be short, easy to grab attention and something that makes the audience want to read more. More importantly something that can be accepted by both kids and adults" Leo couldn't help but sighed loudly as he thought of the requirements.

Time passed by and it was time for dinner, Eve entered the room with a knock, "Master Leo, Master and Mistress are waiting for you at the dinner table"

Leo decided to quit thinking and went to join his parents for dinner.

At dinner looking at his distracted self, Lisa asked "Anything bothering you, Leo"

Leo snapped out and said, "Nothing serious, I was suggested to draw a comic for the local newspaper by my teachers, I was thinking what should I draw"

"Comic? I knew you drew, but I never saw one of your comics," Lisa said, her curiosity piqued. "When are you planning to show your mother one?"

"Neve..." Leo was about to reply in impulse but he knew he would be damned if he did that. So not finishing his word, he diverted "I couldn't figure out what I should make it about"

"Really, I thought you were about to say something else" Lisa said with a look that Leo knew too well. It was the one when he was about to get a long-long lecture.

"So, what bothering you about the comic" Robert asked changing the topic, and Leo understanding his father's signal decided to comply and told them about the requirements and what he thought.

After Leo told everything, Lisa said with worry, "Since you want something that can attract attention easily and hook up people for long, you must be planning on continuing as a comic artist. But Leo you are going to magic school"

"Well, I just want to try it, I don't really care if I make a name out of it or not." Leo said.

Lisa said with a thoughtful, "How about something like the four founders of Hogwarts, you see, unlike stories that focus on one character, Hogwarts history unlike other history is quite interesting since it focuses on multiple characters and their beliefs" then Lisa proceeded to speak about the four founder of Hogwarts to Leo explaining their different believes and characters.

Leo although knew about most of it listen intently, later after dinner he went back to his room.

As he sat down back in his chair he thought, 'It doesn't need to be about one superhero. It could be a group, like the Power Rangers. Teams are more fun,'

Finally deciding what he wanted to draw about he made his mind and started to draw, he spent the next few hours sketching the characters, plots and changes he needed to make to make his comic more attractive and intriguing.

For the next couple of days Leo made sure to give a few hours of his schedule to comics. And finally after the hard work of his he made his first copy, he decided to take it his parents and teachers. They were quite impressed by his work and so was the newspaper agency.

His very first comic became public, 'The Justice League' although it was not his original idea but he did all the changes, he made the comic based on UK, the characters were made refine.

Within the first week of the release, the 'The Justice League' was a big hit.
