HP: Magic Beasts and how to tame them

Cancer is shit. So after Nicholas died, R.O.B. send him in the magical world of Harry Potter to live a new life. A few request later, he is on his way. To tame all magical beasts. Or that's what he would, if the plot wouldn't come in his way. _____________________________________________________ As you have seen in the title and synopsis, this is a HarryPotter fanfiction. I made a mistake when choosing the genre, because it was my first time and the Support couldn't help. The universe belongs to J.K.Rowling.

Anluan

Now that I've got a new friend, I want to contract him as soon as possible,

but I don't have experience with taming magic yet.

So first and foremost I want him to feel homely.

Of course I checked his gender. I'm not like that lovable halfgiant, who doesn't check the basics

before nurturing and naming a pet.

I named him Anluan¹, what means 'Great Hound' and is used I multiple Irish sagas.

We got him a big soft bed that I placed right next to mine, but I know that once he grows the house will be to small, so I need to build him something in the yard.

Doghouse? Too small, maybe a barn? That sounds nice and should I get other big pets they can live there in the holidays.

No, I would never get my parents to build one. Guess I have to practice my space magic more.

When we talk about magic, let's come back to taming Anluan.

Maybe I should nickname him Luan², no but it would be a great joke to greet him each week.

So after I chuckle for a moment at the thought, I begin to think about taming or better said

the magic I got.

In this world beasts aren't tamed in a friendly manner, if you don't count Hagrid,

who doesn't get crippled with his physique or similar animal lovers like Newt Scamander.

They are beat in obedience, as some of you must have seen mostly used on dragons in the goblet of fire

or the dragon in the bottom pit of Gringott.

The taming magic I'm talking about uses magic as a medium to contract an animal or beast to a wizard

for the benefit of both parties.

If the wizard/witch isn't stronger than the beast then the consent of the other party is needed.

That doesn't mean you should force a contract on a weaker beast, because even if it's weaker,

the consent to the contract benefits the grow of the beast more.

While both parties often develop a friendship, that isn't meant with the benefits.

The beast helps the tamer mostly by defending him or attacking his enemies and the tamer

provides a good environment and some mana for better grow of his beast similar to how

House Elves are bound to a wizard home to receive mana.

Since friendship and consent help, I want to build a relationship with Anluan first, before I tame him.

-

After a few weeks of playing and training Anluan to don't mark the house but his territory border at the wards, some form of normality returns in the house.

Nymph and mom train the new owl Minerva. Yeah you read right, her name is Minerva like the Deputy Headmistress of Hogwarts. But we named her after the roman counterpart of the goddess Athena³, known for her wisdom. At least that's what we told our parents.

Sis said that it will be her first prank when she calls out to her in the great hall.

I wish to be there to see the faces of the teachers. What a shame.

Back to topic, I decided today is the day that Anluan becomes my first contracted familiar.

In my room I sit before him and concentrate on the image and intention behind my magic.

I feel a string of my magic float in his direction.

Then under his paws shines a magic circle for a few seconds.

After it fades away I feel my consciousness is connected to his. When I think about 'sit', he sits.

I see. With the connection, I don't need verbal commands. But more important, I sense his feelings.

He is happy, but a little hungry. Guess it's time for lunch.

Anluan growed in the last couple of weeks. I think in a couple of weeks or months he will be bigger than me. I wonder if I can ride on his back?

That's something to look forward to.

Hey there readers,

thanks for your support.

We got on the 'New fresh story recommendations'.

And you gave me my first few PowerStones.

Anyway this chapter is a little laid-back, but I hope you enjoy it.

For those not used to Irish or mythology,

here are the translations of the used words:

1 Anluan => great hound/warrior

2 Luan => monday

3 Athena is the greek goddess of wisdom and warfare. Her roman name is Minerva.
