Spell Presentation

[A/N: Deleted the anti-wizard weapons.]

"As it turns out, they have a few wizards which they raised as loyal soldiers and they are currently deploying them, although they are a bit below us in terms of strenght and spells."

Now, every student paled. Hidden wizards in the hands of muggles?

"That is why, there are small scale conflicts in our country, and several housing blocks were already destroyed, and a few small forests burned down. It also seems like magical mafias, clan, and gangs all over the world have started to act and try to kidnap a few of your parents to get to you. Luckily, our Hit Wizards, the memory charms, or their own strength could prevent this most of the time. But you must understand that most wizards and witches slack of after school, which is why some of they still remain at their former level, becoming just slightly stronger, but still weaker, relative to the strongest wizards. Most of the normal wizarding population is weaker than our average fourth or fifth year. At least if we look at those from two years ago."

Now that was a bomb she dropped. On one hand, Sebastian did not think that everything would escalate like that, but on the other hand, he completely forgot how weak wizards were before they progressed and researched before the reactivation of many lay lines. It was just ridiculous. Even more so, when you had a look at nowadays War Wizards and the new spells developed every day.

Then it hit Sebastian. He said that some of their parents still were either killed or kidnapped. Were his parents… He needed to know, but he did not want to know.

It seemed like the Minister of Magic realized his slip up and hastily said, "Fortunately, only four of you are concerned as of now and those few were already portkeyed away a few seconds ago. You can trust us that we currently do all we can, to protect our citizens, your parents, and our country. If you want to help, you may do so in three weeks. But we first must test you, to be sure you don't do anything stupid or even worse…."

He paused for a second and then continued with another topic.

"The International Confederation of Wizards are currently deploying their forces and working out deals with all magical governments, as they want to prevent an all-out war. They know that they cannot stop War Wizards from fighting, therefore they are researching other, overlaying dimensions to find out if they could potentially fight there. In this aspect, we are currently making a lot of progress, but no other dimensions are inhabitable."

"The Japanese also try developing a way to perform a worldwide ritual, in which wizards above a certain level would automatically create an area around them, in which only wizards can enter. If ended, nothing would be destroyed and everything would be like before, even though they could destroy cities while fighting. It is currently called space isolation." [Reference to 'Eleceed']

[A/N: Tell me which of those two you think would be better, I prefer space isolation. Wizards are just too strong for the current world and dimensions would make that even worse.]

"Now, you might ask yourself, why I am telling you all of this. Well, there are several reasons for that. Firstly, some of you will soon be able to go out into the world, therefore the ICW specified that every nation must lecture their students about this. Next, it is just a good idea to tell you this in general, so that you are informed and act with this information in the back of your mind.", the minister explained, and many people that wondered why he was so informative today nodded in understanding.

"Good. Now you may go back to your classes. I hope to see you soon in the ministry.", the minister finished and turned to leave.

Sebastian was back in the library and talked with Johannes about they just head. To be honest, they weren't able to concentrate on their tasks at the given moment.

"Do you worry about your family?", Sebastian asked, his forehead resting on top of his hands he had folded on the table.

Johannes, sitting next to him and supporting the weight of his head with his hand, the elbows resting upon the table, turned to look at Sebastian and answered in a concerned voice.

"Yes, naturally. They should be safe -theoretically-, but I still cannot help but worry about their safety. They are all wizards but more into finance than magical prowess, so I do not think don't think they could potentially help themselves if they did not hire guards like I think they did… What about you? Do you worry about your family?", Johannes answered and asked back.

"Yeah. Both are squibs and cannot protect themselves. We also didn't have any money to hire guards, so I can only hope that they are either ignored of taken care of well enough by the ministry. Still, if something should happen to them… I don't think I could blame our ministry, but if I could get to the attackers, that would be something completely different. As soon as I can, I am going to sign up for missions.", Sebastian answered while turning to look at Johannes with determination in his eyes. Johannes just smiled at him.

"If that is the case, we should best try to get this done as soon as possible and become stronger. What do you think?", Johannes asked, although he already knew the answer.

Three days later, Sebastian found himself back in the library together with Johannes, Andreas, Nadine, Theo, and Sabine.

"We have already worked out everything for the way sound is received and found a way to overlay it with bio-electrical signals.", Sabine informed them. "Additionally, it will be perceived as just another noise and will be louder than the surroundings in any scenario. And here,", Theo said, as he pulled out a parchment, "is the spell matrix. All finished. Now you just have to integrate it without changing anything."

"That's good!", Sebastian exclaimed as he eyed the part of a spell, which was very complex.

"Yeah, it is. We also did our part. We found a way to encrypt the signal. But we couldn't modify it so that it could differentiate between enemy and companion when the spell hits someone. Here is our part.", Andreas explained, as he handed them another parchment that showed another spell part, just as complex as the other.

"It seems that we all gave it our all.", Johannes chuckled, as he took out another parchment with their part on it.

"Yes. We were able to create a solid base, creating a small, blue beam of light, barely visible. It was hard to modify that part, but it should still have enough potential to transmit all the signals just fine.", Sebastian added, as he began working on the spell with his alchemic calculator.

"Hmh, as far as I can tell, there seem to be some minor complications. But nothing unsolvable.", Johannes said after eyeing the spells and taking some notes.

Sebastian just nodded while he continued calculating and the others beamed a bright smile. Creating such an advanced and useful spell with barely a year of school was an achievement not to be underestimated.

A few hours later, the teams stood at the front of a long table. At the table sat professor Krieg, Professor Neudecker, Headmistress Vogel, a few other professors and several researchers.

"I still do not understand why so many people would need to be there for the presentation of our spell." Nadine squeaked in a tone, that was completely out of character for her, while looking at Professor Neudecker, who answered in an excited tone.

"It's because I think that your spell is fabulous. It isn't perfect, but the idea and the way you created the spell deserves enormous credit. Even more so, when the spell would end up on the table of the people present anyway."

"Fine.", Nadine grunted back.

After explaining the spell, their work, different ideas, concepts and approaches, they finally presented their spell. For this, Sebastian and Johannes stood in front of each other, five meters apart and one of the professors gave Johannes a small paper with a sentence written on it, he was to convey to Sebastian.

Johannes braced himself and took a deep breath, before slowly lifting his staff and pointing it at Sebastian.

As of now, they had only just translated the spell into movements and an incantation. It wasn't simplified or compressed, just the raw spell.

"Deferat animum.", Johannes said slowly, while holding the staff vertically in front him, tip pointing upwards. In a fast and fluid motion, he moved his staff in a small clockwise fashion upwards, creating a spiral movement, which expanded slightly while he repeated it two times. Then, he made a sharp slash, diagonally downwards to the right, and ended it with his staff pointing towards the ground. He swept his staff horizontally to the left, parallel to the ground, which he followed up by a swift upwards flick of his wand, which turned into a smooth semi-circular arc to the right.

Finally, Johannes pulled back his staff and made a quick jab towards Sebastian, upon which a thin, blue beam of moderate speed was created at the tip of his staff. When it reached Sebastian, he closed his eyes for a moment as if to concentrate on something, before finally asking.

"Which course would you like to do next?"
