HP - Thomas Lamorak

This is my first try at making a story. It will take me quite some time to get it finished, but adding it here, might make me more inclined to actually finish writing it. I have a very general overview of the entire story planned, now all i need is actually writing it. Now... The story is about an average joe, average guy who reincarnates into the world of Harry Potter, he will explore the world, and discover that not every story ends well. That there are real consequences to once actions. My goal for the story is to write something I would enjoy to read. There will be no bashing of Dumbledore or other characters, I love the world of HP, but there are things I would love to explore that isn't seen into very much. Dont expect this story to be updated very often, or be completed within the next year or so. But I will finish it to the best of my abilities. Hope you like, whatever I end up writing.

1. Rebirth

In a quiet and peaceful village, with small cozy houses, filled with happy families. Is a small cemetery, normally a quiet and peaceful place.

Families come and pay their respects to their ancestors and loved ones here, leave flowers and tell stories to their past loved ones, hoping wherever they are now, that they are at peace.

In this place, the quiet is broken up with the nightmare inducing screams of a small child, and chanting done by dark wizards.

Because a ritual of the darkest kind is taking place.

7 wizards surround a stone platform chanting with their wands raised, the magic looking almost physical as the leader directs the power into the body of the child.

A child no more than three years old.

Two adults are lying on the ground not far from them, a man and a woman, the child's parents.

The power coursing through the child, too much for the body and soul to handle, screams and twists with the incredible pain he is feeling, but being held in place by golden magical threads.

The threads crisscrossing all over the body restraining the child against the cold stone of the platform.

The leader is none other than Rabastan Lestrange, one of the Dark Lord Voldemort's most fervent followers. He is here now doing experiments on the child in the hopes

that it will make the body of the child stronger, so his Lord will have a stronger and better body to inhabit in his immortal journey.

"Yes, SCREAM child, I will drive out your soul, strengthen your body, it will serve my Lord!"

Rabastan turned around to look at the gathered wizards, as their chanting stopped, and the ragged screams finally died out, followed by the ragged breaths of the child heaving in and out almost mechanically.

The child was breathing, but it was just a shell, the soul had been pushed out by the dark ritual. But the body was strong, heightened regeneration, a more efficient body for casting magic, having been forced to undergo its magical maturation twice already. At least 2 decades before it was supposed to.

The only outward signs that anything had happened was 7 blue dots spread out on the chest, left shoulder and shoulder blade going slightly down the upper left arm, Rabastan did not place those dots on the child's body, but theorized that the ritual must have placed them there, his Lord must have added them to stabilize the high amount of power coursing through the body.

Rabastan laughed, "It will work! I must use the artifact of my master, my lord recreated ``The Diadem of Rowena Rawenclaw, it was a feat of magic none had succeeded in since the founders themselves", he looked around to the 6 other followers, the strongest of his followers, though none that bore the mark, these were here to prove their worth, or perish in the ritual!

He pulled out the crown from his expanded pouch; it was changed from the original design, to incorporate gold, jewels, and two serpents that were twisted around the front. It had a piece of the dark lord's soul inside of it which strengthened the crown, it was truly a powerful artifact! The crown had the ability of parseltongue and would like the original increase the wearer's memory capacity and ability to comprehend new knowledge.

He placed the crown on the head of the child, and they all started to chant again, and as the magic took hold of the crown, they started to merge, the crown disappeared into the head of the child, and only a thin line of gold could be seen, only as thick as a single strand of hair.

The soul of the crown was also starting to take root in the body, making it ready for the soul to take hold.

"Bring the damm bird, it's time to finish this!" Rabastan hissed. One of the followers brought out a glistening silver cage where a large majestic blue bird was trapped inside, it looked with fury at the gathered crowd, a Phoenix is not meant to be caged!

Rabastan looked with mad glee at the bird, the final part was about to begin!

The cage was handed over, and placed by the child, the Phoenix stopped its screeching as it looked with sadness at the child, thinking about the horror inflicted on it. Rabastan started chanting with his wand making complicated movements on top of the cage, the wizards surrounding him each started chanting again.

The magic taking hold of the bird, as dark as the ritual, tearing the Phoenix apart, the feathers, blood, muscles and bones disintegrating into nothing.

Leaving only a small fire floating where the bird was, its immortal soul.

Rabastan took the magic from the cage, a complicated conjuration, making it disappear, pulling the soul to him and over the small child's body.

The effort it took to contain and move the soul took its toll on him, sweat pouring down him, while he was keeping up with the chanting, words that would slip from the mind, unable to be comprehended, but only filling you with horror and foreboding if heard.

The soul slowly descended onto the body, trying to merge in place, making the magic of the Phoenix a part of the body.

As soon as the soul touched the child's chest, the dots on the body started to slowly glow with magic, brighter and brighter as the soul seeped into the flesh. The body started twitching and reacting to the soul.

"No, NOOO, it must take!" Rabastan exclaimed, it would appear even a Phoenix soul was not something to easily tamper with, he looked about wildly, thinking

what could he do? he suddenly had an idea, nothing is more powerful than a sacrifice!

Using his magic he pulled the parents' bodies to him, and as with the Phoenix he tore them apart bathing the child in the blood and gore and consumed the souls of them with dark magic fueling the ritual once again, the souls appeared visible as twisted ghostly shapes of their former selves, contorting in pain and wailing a ghostly wail as they were consumed, though only visible for fleeting moments before disappearing completely.

But still it wasn't enough! With a crazed look he looked around him, he needed more! Once again he pulled three of the followers to him and tore them apart as he did the Phoenix and parents, only now he made sure that only the blood touched the body, bathing the power of the wizards onto it. The souls visible as ghostly bodies contorted in rage before they dissipated as well, becoming a part of the ritual, strengthening it beyond comprehension, but still not enough! He would not fail his Lord now! The ritual was perfected by his Lord's studies through countless years worth of effort. A perfection of the original ritual to bring him back if his body was ever destroyed, but as always, the dark lord wanted better! So he conceived this ritual, from studies into the darkest of magic.

He flared his remaining magic, and pulled the remaining followers to him, their cries for mercy ignored, they were all expendable when it compared to the success of the ritual! The three remaining were disintegrated as the others, bathing the child in blood, their contorted souls dissipating into the ritual, the magic flaring. The air crackled with power, the magic in the air was so heavy it prickled the skin like a torrent of rain and hails, along with unbearable heat.

Rabastan looked insane, his eyes bloodshot, drool going down his chin, his very mind close to breaking, he forced the magic into the child, pushing the phoenix' soul into it.

Screaming with effort, the soul seemed to take the power of the Phoenix integrating it into the body!

Mad glee was now visible on his face, a mad laugh escaping his lips, "yes, YES!! It's working! MY LORD WILL AWAKEN TO CONQUER ALL".

But just as he said it, the child's body started convulsing, thin red lines started to appear on the small body, power leaking out of the lines, starting to glow until fire burst out. Rasbatans eyes almost popped out of his head "NOOOO, it should have worked! Why is it not working!!"

He took a step back, withdrawing his remaining magic, thinking what could have gone wrong! Maybe fate itself had deemed the child unworthy of the power.

Fate! That's it, he thought, My Lord had targeted the potters, they should have died tonight, but there was another child as well, only a baby, but also one marked by fate!

The ritual will work with that child! Cursing his luck, the crown now lost and the phoenix as well, a phoenix was almost impossible to capture, and had required the sacrifice of hundreds of muggles! This new ritual must not be finished yet, the original ritual must be done, and my Lord will finish this new one. I will not fail him!

What Rabastan Lestrange failed to realize was that the soul of his lord was also burned away by the fire of the Phoenix, a truly costly mistake that would set in motion events not even the dark lord could have foreseen.

Just as Rabastan came to the conclusion that he must abduct the child, retry the ritual with it, several pops sounded around him, he looked around him, gripping his wand. The aurors were here!

Moody also known as Mad Eye Moody stepped forward, "Well well well, if it isn't Rabastan Lestrange '', it was all he said as he stepped forward, and then he started blasting spells toward Rabastan. He put up a hasty shield, thinking he must escape! He must get to the Longbottoms, to get the child!

With the magic taught to him by his Lord, he summoned fire, cursed fire that blasted outward, and then he apparated away.

Moody blasted the fire, cursing his luck, it only blasted it backwards for a couple of seconds, before raging towards him and the aurors around him again. "Merlin, it's Fiendfire! We must surround the fire and finite it together!". As he bellowed his orders, he stuck his staff into the dirt and roared "FINITE". The other aurors followed suit with their wands, a blue line of anti magic surrounded the magical fire, the two magics battled against each other, the orange fire against the blue lines surrounding it. Not many knew of this trick, originally conceived by Nicolas Flamel, and taught to Moody by Dumbledore; he hoped it would work this time as well!

The fire was a dark magic called fiend fire, a truly insane magic, that would not go out until it had consumed whatever it was set against. It burst through the finite line at certain points killing the aurors there, making it even harder to keep the line up, but after several minutes the fire finally had no more magic to run on, having been drained by the finite line until it finally went out.

It took the lives of almost half the aurors present, leaving the remaining gasping for air, as they finally managed to dispel it.

As the remaining aurors looked around seeing their lost partners, or what remained of their burned out bodies, they looked at the altar, a small child, on fire, slowly burning away.

The heart wrenching sight more than many of them could handle to look at, with several of the junior aurors selecting to empty their stomachs then and there. Moody stepped up to the altar, as the body finally turned to ashes, a sorrowful look on his face. He sighed and turned around, "We need to clean up this place, the muggles cannot know what happened here, obliviate any witnesses if you have to!".

But just as they were about to leave to do their work, a child's crying sounded out in the air.

Astonished Moody whipped around, wand in hand, and looked at the altar, in the middle of the ashes was a healthy looking child, with faintly glowing dots on its chest and shoulder, and though he did not notice it, a faint line of gold surrounding the head, hidden by the hair of the child. Crying and wiggling and trying to rise up. He quickly casted several charms to detect dark magic on the boy, but found nothing. Flabbergasted, he continued to cast other obscure magics taught to him by Dumbledore, magic that could look at the soul, see its health and vitality.

What he saw was a healthy and shining light in the boy, with a small fire in its center from a Phoenix!.

I have issues with writing in the correct "time", past, present, and third person, in person... whatever its called. But im doing my best, if you have any tips or anything, feel free to suggest, as long as it doesn't change the plot of the story, I will likely implement it.
