Part 7 - Talking About It

The ambulance and the police arrived at the scene. They asked me a couple of questions relating to the person. I told them that I was passing by the residential area and that I saw the dead body here.

The victim was identified as Mizumi Yamato. She was 20 years old. The cause of death was blunt force trauma. She was struck in the head by an object, causing a fracture in her skull. Right after a couple of questionings, I immediately went home.

As I open the door, Hanzo immediately got up from the couch and ran towards me.

"Oh my god Kazu, are you okay? Are you hurt? What happened?" He said all of those so quickly and in a worried manner. "I recently read an article about a dead body in the upper residential area here in Rabenda City, and it says that you are a witness."

"Oh, I just saw the body there and called the ambulance. I didn't call the police, so maybe they did?" I replied to him.

A sign of relief showed in his face. "Phew. I thought you were involved. I was really worried, you know?"

"Yeah, sorry about that."

"Why were you in there anyway? We don't even know anyone that lives there."

I guess I need to tell him. I sighed and put down the groceries in the coffee table and sat on the couch.

"I was there, because.... I saw the woman again."

Hanzo made a sound like a shocked anime character.

"I saw her again as I was walking by the casino and the old abandoned building, which apparently is now a hotel. Just like last time, she ran away. This time, I didn't let it go. I chased after her. She took a turn in the upper residential area. I could not find her, but I found the body instead."

Hanzo sat next to me and placed a hand on my shoulder. "You can see ghosts again, right?"I nod. "I guess."

"Then there are more opportunities for you to help her. Dude, this city is not that big. We have memorized every corner, paths, nooks, and crannies. Can try and find her."

"You'll help me?"

"Of course! We always have each other's back," He gave a cheerful smile, his eyes closed because of it.

Knowing this, I was happy and confident. I hugged him.

"If we are going to do this, we should get our facts straight," He said. "How did you regain the ability to see ghosts?"

"Well, there is this weird hotel next to the casino. When I came in contact with this hotel, I saw her."

He began his deep thinking. "Hmmmm, this is weird. Ever since we were born, that place has been abandoned. There was no notice that it was going to be rebuilt. "

"Yeah, exactly! That's what I thought too."

"Hmm, that's weird. Tomorrow, after class, we should investigate that place. We might figure stuff out if we go there."

"Yeah, okay."

"Okay okay, anything else?"

The angel. I should also tell him about that encounter.

"The dead body," I start to talk. "I also saw her ghost come out of her body, but there's something else."

Hanzo raised his eyebrows. "What is it?"

"I- I saw some sort of an angel, picking her up and took her with him."

Hanzo gasped softly, sounding like a grunt. "You mean, you saw a death angel?"

"I guess, but everything that happened there, he resembled Thanatos."

"Thanatos? The Greek god of peaceful death?"

"Yeah, at least, that's what I think. As he arrives, poppy flowers began to bloom around her body. This man had dark wings. He carries a sword that hung on his slacks, and he carries an upside-down torch. All of these are the symbolisms of Thanatos."

"I believe you, but there's so much going on in this situation."

"Yeah, I know. Should we call it a day?"

"Yeah."

We turned off everything in the living room, then proceeded to our bedroom. We slept, looking forward to our investigation tomorrow.
